Asus Transformer Book T100 tablet: characteristics, features. Asus T100tA tablet: specifications, photos and tips About what you need to know

Netbooks from the beginning are not worth the damage to their reputation. When the first models of these devices appeared on the market, people were even more skeptical about them. Today's thoughts about them have changed due to their accessibility and portability, as well as various technical characteristics.

The Taiwanese company Asus was one of the first to release a netbook with Linux (and then with later versions of Windows) in the Eee PC line in 2007, so it’s not surprising that the new Asus Transformer Book T100 looks hostile.

The new 10.1-inch netbook tablet T100 is portable. new versions Windows 8.1, allowing you to install old programs on your desktop next to the program shortcuts from the Microsoft Windows Store. The device can be converted from a tablet to a mini-laptop when a keyboard is connected, which is included in the basic package.

Like all other transformable devices, the T100 will simultaneously meet the user’s needs for two gadgets, excluding the need for another device.

Main features

Asus Transformer Book T100 has a low energy consumption and runs on an Intel processor on the high-performance Atom platform. For its technical characteristics, the gadget competes with such 8-inch tablets as the 8.1 HP Omni 10, Toshiba Encore and Dell Venue Pro 8. At the same time, it cannot enter into fierce competition with 10-inch devices from the very similar Lenovo ThinkPad, and also Microsoft Pro 2, since the processor of the described device has the same configuration as the other one high level productivity, superior to a wide variety of devices the rest of the generation, for example, Acer Iconia W3 and Envy x2 HP.

Tim no less, you will not be shocked by the price of this device. Asus Transformer Book T100 is included in the same price category as 8-inch tablets. It can cost around 300 dollars, but the presence of the keyboard means that this gadget is better - you will be able to benefit from a larger number of completed assignments. In addition, do not allow yourself to be compared with other netbooks - the T100 is not only a tablet, but also an added device with a glossy plastic cover, which in its original appearance resembles the ZENB premium line OOK – Asus ultrabooks. However, compared to more important devices, the T100 looks much more modest, so you won’t feel any discomfort when you take the netbook out of your bag on the train or at a business meeting.

External look

Residual drawings

The Asus Transformer Book T100 fails to combine the most advantageous aspects of netbooks with the versatility of modern tablets. This device will not be the leader in the category of mini-laptops or tablets, otherwise the combination of two devices in one will not appear unmarked.

Those parts of the body are made of plastic, and the hinges for connecting the storage parts are made of another material, visually seem amazing. The Asus Transformer Book T100 Red (as well as other modifications) does not look like other gadgets, it just looks different. Its 10.1-inch screen works well in both mini-laptop and tablet mode. If you like the specific features of Windows 8.1, this device may again be suitable for you.

It’s no less important if you already have a large laptop for work and now choose a smart portable gadget, rather than increase your respect for high-grade tablets. For example, Google will make reasonable decisions if you don’t want to buy a two-in-one device itself.

Positive qualities

As a tablet, the T100 is a wonderful gadget and great solutions to buy. Currently, the number of programs offered in the Windows Store is growing every month. In addition, the device has a long battery life, which means you can take it on the road and use it for most of the day without recharging. The ability to charge it using an additional micro-USB is also a bonus, as it takes more than an hour. Thus, a car charger becomes available for the Asus Transformer Book T100. The addition of a USB 3.0 port on the case adds great versatility to the T100 and prevents you from having to fiddle with a micro-USB converter. And of course, 1 TB space for saving data on gloomy service- this is probably the biggest plus.

Nedoliky

The keys are very unmanageable, as they are placed very closely and are too small. Due to such features, you will have to change your typing style and work with the device, otherwise you risk getting very tired. If you need a device for typing a lot of text, you will have to connect another keyboard that is not included in the kit.

The presence on the back panel of the camera also has a lot of value, although not quite a lot. In addition, the T100 is considered to be a device of average productivity that can be found in this price segment, which does not require much effort and a lot of bonuses.

This tablet was just ahead of us through the platform - I have a new vikorist Intel generation Atom Z with Silvermont architecture. Intel has already greatly redesigned the internal architecture () and has achieved a great increase in productivity - two to three times ().

But the worst thing is that on the new generation platform, the Windows 8 system has become even smarter, with a more sophisticated interface and improved interface. This has a lot to do with the positive attitude towards the tablet - equal with the representatives of the previous generation.

The T100TA has two important features that need to be mentioned before taking a look. First of all, these are obviously inexpensive solutions that are aimed at unsophisticated money-makers who are not willing to overpay. And therefore we are ready to put up with the peculiarities of cheap solutions - a unique external appearance, a variety of possibilities, etc.

In another way, the manufacturer proposes to think of the T100TA not as a home tablet (which is what solutions are available on iOS or Android), but as an analogue of a netbook, a universal device running Windows, suitable for all simple scenarios of work of a slow home operator . Why does the kit come with a dock and a keyboard, after inserting it into any tablet, it will look like a good old netbook. Zagalom, T100TA is not planned as an addition to home computer or a laptop, or a replacement. Well, the full-fledged Windows 8 on the Asus T100TA does not hinder the buyer in any way.

Overall, with a lot of abstract technical characteristics, the tablet looks, at first glance, average. More food, what? technical characteristics it would be good to evaluate the prices software platform.

Tablet: body, ergonomics, screen

Frame

For the T100TA, Asus chose a screen diagonal of 10.1 inches - something to see it in a number of expensive and functional tablets, the screens of which are almost always 11.6 inches, or in memory of netbooks. Before speaking, it is absolutely clear that the market is cheapest. The case is large for this diagonal (as can be seen from the thickness of the frames around the screen), but it is normal for inexpensive solutions. In terms of workmanship, the corps is not a record holder, otherwise I would not be killed on this great respect - it would lie hand in hand.

The tablet body is made of plastic, dark gray color and “metallic” (with sparkles). The color of the panel is beautiful, but less suitable (in the photo there are a few highlights so that the texture can be seen. In reality the tablet is dark). on rear criss The traditional Asus texture has been added - the parts are concentric and diverge from the logo. All the beast, the lid is filled with varnish, and the texture is practically unnoticeable - only one can be amazed under the bright light (or because the core of the light appears in it). The varnish cap picks up fingertips, but for such a color body the stench is of little note. If the lid is stained, you can be especially surprised and even notice the brightness of the lamp.

The front of the tablet is black and glossy - the front panel is covered with a bevel of the touchscreen. The T100TA has thick frames – at least 2 cm on the top and bottom, a little less on the sides.

The plastic case is soft under your hands, so you can squeeze it. The dock in this plan is even worse. However, it’s difficult to evaluate the reliability of this method: you might say that the tablet has survived severe falls without any problems, and those who have had a cracked screen… or even skin falls are entirely individual.

The tablet capacity is 570 grams. This is 100 grams less than the first iPad (before Air, which is significantly lighter). I relish the tablet with such a thing, it’s comfortable to hold it in your hands for quite a long time.

In general, if we talk about “rural” design, then the T100TA looks more like a budget solution. Based on the design and materials, you can see that the tablet is inexpensive, but it looks nasty. I didn’t deserve a glossy finish, but I really don’t like gloss. The tablet is used manually.

Roz'emi

We marvel at the control and expansion capabilities.

There is a life button on the top edge of the lid. As a rule, when working, you handle the tablet with your left hand and the other hand (this way you are less likely to try to twist your hands). In this case, the button rests under your finger. It’s very easy to use it.

The command with the button is a small LED. You can clearly see that the tablet is in front of the tablet with the lid closed, otherwise you won’t be able to use it while working – it will shine up and down. The LED lights up in red when charging, and lights up when the tablet is connected until it is charged. If the tablet is not connected until the limit, the LED will not light up.

On the left side there is a dial for adjusting the thickness, traditional for tablets, and below it is another button. On almost all tablets, this button turns on the automatic screen rotation mode, and here, as it turns out, this is the “Do Home” button. It’s impossible to guess; you can only figure it out experimentally. For everyone I asked to rate the tablet, finding the Home button became a big problem.

On the right side of the device there is a microSD slot. Moreover, greatness has been declared with SDXC format cards. Once the card is inserted, wash it carefully from the slot, and its sharp edge will be washed less often, as I can wash the tablet at the same time. With the help of the trimati there, it is steadily unmanageable. Also, there is a problem with the creation of films from cards (hypergalvanization), but the result of incorrect work Windows update. Report - .

Below there is a Micro-USB connector, which is used to charge the tablet. It can also be used as OTG, so you can also connect an adapter to USB and connect any peripherals. If you need memory if you have a large device (for example, a portable hard drive), then it may not start.

What not to write about in reviews

The Asus T100 has an unpleasant feature: the tablet is normally charged only from the included power supply, regardless of the fact that an expanded Micro-USB port is used for charging. The essence of the problem is this: the generators reconnect the working lines in the power supply or cables in order for the device to know whether it is connected to the charging device or to the computer. At times, the tablet is surrounded by a charging line of 500 mA (like the USB ports of a computer). Apparently, when the battery is turned off, it charges even more, and when the tablet is working, no energy is drained from it, and it begins to drain the still-wet battery. It’s important to do everything to ensure the protection of the device, but in reality it’s just a matter of exposing your co-workers: in the worst case, they’ll end up carrying a bunch of power supplies instead of one, in the worst case, they’ll lose the stink of the roses connected device and without charging. It’s best to use your tablet to charge it. Don't be afraid that you will find exercise while visiting!

Below is a Micro-HDMI connector, which allows you to output video to external device. This may be necessary both during work (by connecting a large monitor, get a practically full-fledged desktop), and during the final task (to display the film on an HDMI TV).

You've already decided that there is a headphone socket on the bottom edge of the panel. However, it is also important to note - for example, when a headset is connected, the sound on it is interrupted more than once (you need to unplug and plug it in again) or the sound may disappear until the tablet is re-engaged.

Well, most of the roses are planted on the lower right. Adjust your tablet in two ways. Otherwise, the beast is angry (as it is necessary to work with the screen), but it is so difficult to trim for a long time - you strive to twist your hands through any important thing that appears. Or two hands on the sides from below (and use the thumbs) - but in this case, if you would like to use a plug with one rose, the right-handed one trims the edge awkwardly, practically awkwardly. Before speaking, when the plugs are inserted (especially headphones), the tablet tends to turn out of the left hand especially actively. That's why wireless operators try to place the headphone jack either on the upper part of the barrel edge or on the top edge.

At the bottom there are two slots for the guides of the hinge assembly and a richly functional connector for connecting a keyboard. Whether it can be done through new charging - I don’t know. It is acceptable that it is not possible. Before speaking, the Asus branded charger with a flat connector (used on previous Transformer tablets) is not suitable for anything else.

Screen

Screen technical parameters:

Most current Windows tablets have a diagonal size of 11.6 inches. Compared to them, the T100TA appears noticeably smaller. The size of the screen is equivalent to the iPad (the T100TA screen is one and a half centimeters longer horizontally and shorter vertically), whereas the iPad has a square screen, and the difference is clearly visible.

Through the 16:9 aspect ratio, the tablet comes out retracted, and it is not always easy to manually touch it with one hand (especially useful on larger 11-inch tablets). As an advantage, we will now demonstrate the ability to marvel at films without black scars to the beast below. Windows 8.1 has one more advantage: two programs in the new interface can be used simultaneously, and for this reason the wide screen looks much more handy.

Analysis of the objective characteristics of the screen (author: Oleksiy Kudryavtsev)

The front surface of the screen has the appearance of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface, resistant to smudges. Judging by the display of the objects, there is an anti-glare filter, which is worse in terms of reduced image brightness than the Google Nexus 7 (2013) (hereinafter we compare with it). The surface of the matrix itself under the edge is slightly matte, so the screen displays both direct light (on the outer surface) and light light (on the surface of the matrix), but reading in the mind is subject to strong external illumination. For clarity, here are some photographs that show a white surface on the darkened screens of both tablets (Asus Transformer Book T100 – left-handed, they can then be separated by size):

The gray surface of the T100 screen against the near black screen of the Nexus 7 confirms what is written above. Instead, place matrices with a matte surface near the device from the outer slope, which looks like concern for a healthy stomach and breast. The display on the screen doubles, which conveys the evidence of wind scraping between the surface of the matrix and the outer surface. On the outer surface of the screen there is a special oleophobic (fat-resistant) coating (less effective, less so on the Nexus 7), so fingerprints are easier to remove and have less slickness, less friction Kuzvichaynogo warehouse.

With manual bathing, the maximum value was close to 220 cd/m2 (although once it was possible to record 240 cd/m2), and the minimum value was 9 cd/m2. The maximum values are low, due to the weak power of anti-glare and the slight matte surface of the matrix, in bright daylight the image on the screen will be dirty. In the dark, brightness can be reduced to a comfortable level. Є automatic brightness adjustment of the brightness sensor (located to the right in front of the front camera). In automatic mode, when changing the external brightness settings, the brightness of the screen moves up and down. The operation of this function depends on the brightness control position. If it is 100%, then in the dark mode the auto-brightness function changes the brightness to 112 cd/m² (it could be lower), in a brightly lit office (approximately 400 lux) it is set to 220 k d/m² (itself), even brightly (indicates the brightness of the posture on a clear day, but without direct sunlight - 20,000 lux or a little more) moves to a maximum of 220 cd/m². If it is 50%, then the brightness of the screen for three minds is as follows: 60, 190 and 190 cd/m². When the automatic brightness adjustment is turned up, the brightness control is set to 0, the brightness is always set to the minimum (9 cd/m²) value. As a result, the auto-brightness adjustment function works as if the maximum brightness of the core is still low, but even if it is dark, the brightness is automatically reduced to save energy promotes comfort. At brightness up to 50% (according to the scale, according to the sensor - about 110 cd/m2) there is no significant modulation of the backlight. At 25% brightness and lower modulation, the illumination appears to be forward pulses with 100% amplitude and a frequency of 250 Hz. Such modulation can, in principle, be noted and may also affect the comfort of work with this device, but there is nothing critical in it, because the typical brightness of which device is used, which will be the most important thing as it appears modulation.

Whose tablet has a vikory matrix IPS type. Microphotographs demonstrate a typical IPS subpixel structure:

To clarify, you can familiarize yourself with the gallery of microphotographs of screens that are available from mobile equipment.

The screen can be viewed well without inverting the colors and without a significant change in colors, so it’s great to look at it from a perpendicular angle to the screen. For the sake of balance, the photos on the screens of the Nexus 7 and the tablet being tested show the same images with the brightness of both screens set to approximately 200 cd/m². Perpendicular to the test image screens:

It can be seen that the difference in color transfer is small, but the images on Asus (which is not Nexus) are a little less intense (look at, for example, grapes and bananas), however, without the same lining of the pictures, which can be done from a photograph. I white field:

What is important is the evenness of brightness and color tone. Now it is approximately 45 degrees below the surface and to the side of the screen:

It can be seen that the colors have not changed much in both tablets, but in the Transformer Book the brightness and contrast have changed a lot. Then there is a white field:

The brightness of both tablets has noticeably changed (at least 5 times, coming from the difference in Vitrimtsia), but the T100’s screen is noticeably darker. The black field, when drawn diagonally, appears in the middle and takes on a purple or red-violet tint. A photo from Nexus 7 shows for comparison (the brightness of the white sections of both tablets perpendicular to the direction is the same!):

And under another cut:

When viewed perpendicularly, the evenness of the black field is average, since along the edge there are a few plots of increased brightness of the black:

The contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) is good – close to 960:1. The hour of play during the black-white-black transition is 30 ms (15 ms on + 15 ms on). The transition between gray tones 25% and 75% (for numerical color values) and back takes 43 ms. Based on 32 points at equal intervals for numerical values, the shade of gray gamma curve did not reveal a collapse either in the light or in the shadows. The indicator of the approximated static function is 1.91, which is lower than the standard value of 2.2, at which the real gamma curve in places deviates from the static factor:

Through aggressive and non-disabled (so, the driver knows better what you need, although Google has installed the Nexus 7 2013 behind the screen) dynamically adjusting the brightness of the feed but to the nature of the image that is displayed, the depth of brightness is removed from the color (gama-curve) does not show the gamma curves of a static image, since the fading was carried out by consistently displaying shades of gray on the entire screen. For these reasons, a number of tests - measuring the contrast and time of video, equalizing the exposure of blacks under the skin - were carried out with special templates displayed, and not plain fields on the entire screen.

The color scheme is higher, lower sRGB:

Obviously, the light filter matrices mix components one to one and/or the spectrum of weakly differentiated areas. The spectra are confirmed by:

This technique allows you to increase the brightness of the screen for the same amount of energy spent on lighting. As a result, the color of images - babies, photographs and films - oriented to the sRGB space (and most of them are important) may have a slight change in saturation. The balance of shades on the gray scale is not ideal, since the color temperature is close to the standard 6500 K, but the difference in the spectrum of an absolutely black body (E) is more than 10, which for a living device is considered not a very good indicator. However, at this color temperature and E change little from shade to shade, which is better indicated on the visual assessment of color balance. (The darker areas of the gray scale may not be correct, since the balance of colors there is not of great importance, and the loss of fade of color characteristics at low brightness is great.)

The maximum brightness of this screen is low, the surface of the matrix is slightly matte and the anti-glare power is weak, as a result the comfort on a clear day outside will be very low. There is automatic brightness control, which seems to work, and in principle can eliminate the need for manual brightness control. To achieve this, you can bring the screen up to the main operating range of brightness, high contrast and - by visual assessment - a good color balance. Until the present shortcomings (besides low brightness) there will be: low uniformity of the black field and a narrow field of burial. The screen is medium-sized.

It is important that the tablet is equipped with a Micro-HDMI connector, which allows you to display images on an external device. Traditional modes for Windows: copy (clone), extended desktop (simple, not tiled), only on the tablet screen or even on an external device. We connect this miniature one (narrower than Micro-USB), and there are 19 contacts. HDMI cables for such a connector are designed to be very rigid, which during operation often results in the plug being crossed in the socket and problems in image transmission. Overall, the performance characteristics of this method of connecting to the external screen are extremely low. The use of a Micro-HDMI connector is still available in a number of miniature devices such as phones, but in tablets it is necessary to use the more reliable version of the Mini-HDMI type or use a full-size HDMI version.

Subjective attacks on the screen (Sergey Korogod)

A low maximum brightness (230 nits) can be applied to the smallest parts of the screen. On the street, especially on a bright day, you won’t get much, but for the brightly illuminated summer sun, the amount of brightness may not be enough (especially in films). If you steal your laptop from your apartment, then you won’t have to worry about anything at all (most home laptops before 2012 are not exactly the same level of maximum brightness – and nothing). In devices with high brightness, the screen has to be reduced for operation in areas. However, the T100TA has automatic brightness control.

The main point on which I would like to increase my respect is this. Formally, 1366×768 is considered “not cool” today, and there are a lot of observers who have called for top products and top screens, putting this tablet at fault.

Indeed, the high separation on the tablet screen allows you to see a more visually pleasing and eye-friendly picture, first and foremost – clear and rounded fonts without “clutter”. Ale navіt jaksto deprive behind the arms those that are not at all top tablet, as well as technical points(Like the fact that screens with higher resolutions generate more energy and display more graphics), the power of image scaling is lost.

Novy Windows interface There are no problems with this. And the axis of additions to the old interface (traditional desktop) often works well beyond 100% or on a similar scale. And then their interface elements begin to deteriorate, and fonts with strictly defined parameters do not scale and become too fragmented. In this situation, the less risk there is, the less chance of unpleasant surprises. Moreover, great elements of the interface allow you to simply handle the interface.

Zagalom through low dozvil Friendly fonts look less neat - with stepped edges and slightly smaller (I would like to note especially those who use top-end smartphones and “Retina-grade” tablets) contours. Ale tse vidnosnyi nedolik, forgiven an inexpensive outbuilding. Then there will be no difficulties with scaling the traditional Windows interface, which for me, for example, is more important.

Sound

The sound is seen as one of the main advantages of the Asus T100TA. And it’s entirely deserved – the sound is incredibly booming and lacks respect for the parameters for a portable device. You can talk through the Internet and watch movies without any problems.

Docking station

One of the most important features of the T100TA is the docking station. It's included in the kit and you won't be disappointed with it. On the other hand, the T100TA with a dock is cheaper than most Windows tablets without a dock.

The most important thing about the docking station is the fact that it is obvious. As we have already said, since without a dock a tablet is not “a good idea to lie on the couch in the evening, surf the Internet, or watch a movie,” then with it it is “a full-fledged laptop, albeit small and with a not very fast processor.” Ale yak not shvidkim? For the price of approximately the same, or even more, there are laptops with a diagonal of 15.6 inches and a price of up to 20-22 thousand rubles, which you could buy a lot of that.

Construction

The whole thing is made of plastic, although the keyboard panel is decorated with textured aluminum, even a dark gray color. The product has a keyboard and a touchpad that is remarkably large for such a body size (we’ll talk about them a little later).

Come on, the great turning point attracts respect. It's easy to place the tablet on the dock - just align its edges with the edges of the dock and it will be straight. The tablet locks automatically, to wake it up, just press the click button - no clicks or clicks.

Pros and cons

Having inserted the tablet into the dock, you pick up a small, cute laptop that evokes nostalgic thoughts about Asus netbooks. The dock also additionally protects the screen in a closed case - it may appear brown in a clogged bowl, for example. Before speaking, there are often complaints on forums that the tablet can be dropped even if the screen is closed, and the battery runs out. I am especially concerned with this problem.

It is necessary to understand that a combined tablet + dock will in the future be more important than a laptop with similar characteristics. Here the tablet is about 580 grams, the dock is about 530, which gives us a maximum of 1.1 kg. I think that a similar laptop would be worth 800-850 g. However, in reality the difference is absolutely uncritical, especially since you are holding a tablet in your hands. Sometimes it happens that the tablet is disconnected from the dock (the keyboard and touchpad stop working).

In a lot of similar devices, the tablet is the most important element and overrides the entire structure. All is well with the Asus T100TA - the structure stands very firmly on the table. This is due to the design of the rotary assembly - when it is opened, the rear part goes down and lifts the rear part of the dock up. However, the rotating unit has a great disadvantage: the screen opens only a small amount, 100-110 degrees, no more. After all, it’s even more often (as the table is set low than the chair) that you look down at the screen, but it’s not always acceptable. If you trim a tablet from a doctor on his knees, the situation is even worse.

I’m wondering if it would have been better if I had a friend’s battery in the dock. On one side - there is, obviously, a supply of porridge that is not heavier. On the other hand, the document became more important and cost more expensive. And the T100TA lasts for 8-9 years, which is practically guaranteed to be worn out for the next day (as you can’t sit with the tablet steadily), and at night there is enough time to recharge the charge. So another battery is not needed.

All I wanted was the ability to connect the charger to the dock, so that it could be placed on the table permanently, and the tablet could be placed in it for charging or if necessary, it could be tightened. It’s much easier to install the charger into the tablet.

Nature has two options for the Asus T100TA - the first one, which we have, and another option, which we have installations hard The disk capacity is 500 GB. This gives a lot of possibilities: organization backup copies, saving a home collection of photos and videos (for doctors, if the internal accumulation is small, this is not relevant). Z additional disk T100TA is much easier to use universal laptop. Unfortunately, it is impossible to install with our version of the disk.

Another notable shortcoming of the dock is that it has one more USB 3.0 port. Let's just say this: the new one has only one connector, and not USB 3.0. Then you can connect a hard drive, a flash drive or a teddy bear - and that’s it. No video output, no charging, no need for two USB ports... Before speaking, you will need a bear. Let's talk about this axis.

Keyboard and touchpad

The biggest disappointment in the T100TA is the same keyboard and mouse on the dock. In my opinion, it wouldn’t have worked out to make any special money. I didn’t even dare to get in touch with them, and I’m not the only one suing the Vidguks. On this basis, before speaking, the positive-neutral reaction of many observers is striking.

So, how did this happen and what’s the problem? To save space on the keyboard panel, Asus has changed the vertical size of the keys. If you have already heard the sounds on other keyboards, then you will have a reflex, which is the vertical position of the keys, one after another. Therefore, on the Asus T100TA keyboard you are guaranteed to miss the keys. It’s a mystery to me that they slaughtered everything like that. A similar Asus tablet, but on Android, has a completely different keyboard unit, and there are no such problems.

However, these are not all claims. The keyboard has an incredible and rubbery pressure, and the keyboard is also stiff. And for dessert, the entire surface of the dock under the keyboard springs back for an hour (before speaking, they mean that there are few savings from the hard drive). Zagalom, drukuvati unhandled and unacceptable. If you plan to have a lot of hands, then it’s definitely not a good idea to invest in a custom keyboard.

The situation is no better with the touchpad. In itself, it seems that it is not very good, but rather the most powerful - not the same button. It's just beyond the boundary of good and evil. It is important to press the button until it presses, it is necessary to press it deeply (even pressing it on the surface of the touchpad, without which it does not stand up with a hump), the pressing is made with a sad, harsh clatter. So if you push the cursor too hard, you are unlikely to click the bear there for the first time. And for dessert, the upper part of the touchpad can disappear and rise up.

Zagalom, doc - theoretically the thing is good, and in certain situations it really adds to the handiness. Prote yogo implementation at once is rotten. The built-in keyboard and touchpad are unsatisfactory and will suit all inflexible users, who rarely work (one sheet per day or the address in the browser). If you're going to have to get your hands on a new bear, you'll have to worry about it, because the touchpad is absolutely necessary. The axis has become a single USB port.

Work and productivity

Bay Trail Platform Productivity Statements (Silvermont Architecture) synthetic tests, which were carried out directly on your tablet, can be summarized based on the data from the external examination.

With these materials we conduct research on productivity in games.

Productivity tracking in PC games (Sergey Pakhomov)

Unfortunately, assessing the productivity of the Asus T100TA hybrid tablet using our iXBT Notebook Benchmark v.1.0 method turned out to be difficult. Most programs are 64-bit, and they require a 64-bit version of the Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 operating system. That's why we were inspired by our benchmark iXBT Notebook Benchmark v.1.0.

At the same time, the method for assessing productivity in games iXBT Game Benchmark v.1.0 does not necessarily require a 64-bit version of the OS, so we launched game tests on tablets.

Obviously, and without tests, it is clear that the productivity of the graphics core of the Asus TransformerBook T100 tablet (Intel Atom Z3740 processor) is absolutely impossible to match for modern PC gaming. So these tests simply wanted to confirm this fact.

Also, the results of testing the Asus TransformerBook T100 in games with a separate screen size of 1366×768 are presented in the table:

This table does not show two games that we have chosen in the laptops we tested – Grid 2 and Hitman: Absolution. It’s a pity that these games are installed, but not launched, after setting them to minimum brightness.

As can be seen from the test results, when adjusting the games to the minimum brightness, the Asus TransformerBook T100 does not allow you to comfortably play the same game. Well, in the mode adjusted to the maximum intensity of the game tests, the slide show will predict.

For comparison, here are the results of the Toshiba Portege Z30, which we thoroughly tested. No one has a high-integration version of the Intel Core i5-4200U processor installed, which is victorious Intel graphics HD Graphics 4400. If you don’t need to know, it’s difficult to work out through different Turbo Boost algorithms what frequencies the 4200U operates at in games.

At the same time, the Asus tablet is almost twice as good at games as the Intel HD Graphics 4400, but on the Toshiba laptop you can play more normally in one game from our list – World of Tanks. For all that, tablet players will have the opportunity to go up to the old and simple games.

Subjective notes about productivity (Sergey Korogod)

However, this does not at all mean that the Asus T100 is not suitable for gaming. Extensive daily games for PC are really bad to play. Ale under the PC there is a great number of simple and impossible casual games. Old games for PC to boost your productivity. We've found games for the new Windows interface that are optimized for devices with low productivity, and the T100 works well with them. Also, I would like to say that it is not easy to write him off as a rakhunkov.

When it comes to assessing productivity, the flexibility of the tablet is sufficient for slow-moving home users. The system does not make noise, the sensitivity is on a good level. There are no problems with this, since the new Atom has support for hardware decoders, including Intel Qsync. A Full HD movie with an upgraded hardware decoder runs smoothly, and the processor load is low (10-20%, no more). And this, melodiously, is all that comes next. I just can't wait to see this tablet as it is useful for video editing or for folding cases. Otherwise, it’s time to resign yourself to low productivity in these specific jobs.

Tse are wary of the assumptions that they often get confused, because the devices on the new Atom are not suitable for anyone, because the platform is sufficient. For whom is it suitable? Its productivity is on the same level as that of top-end ARM systems, Snapdragon 800 and Tegra 4 (specifically, it should be kept in mind). Tim more, that home-based traders simply do not vikorist these orders, which is obvious low productivity I want it to be noticeable.

By the way, with the productivity of this platform, everything is good for the task for which it is intended. There is no need to confuse us with the previous generations.

Autonomy

The situation with autonomy is approximately the same. We studied them from the latest materials, and these figures can be calculated to compare with our classmates. Adjustment: adaptive life scheme, the screen always operates at maximum brightness, otherwise - standard setup. Droneless interfaces are connected (due to the fault of the robot test at least). When testing, the laptop is re-installed, all utilities installed by the manufacturer are launched (except for anti-virus programs, which are uninstalled before tests).

  • Reading mode (minimal duration, starts without the battery monitoring utility)
  • Video rewatch mode (launching an AVI file (H.264) on an MPC-HC player).

In our tests, the performance of autonomous robots is very good.

Speaking subjectively, I’ll write it like this: with a T100TA battery you can get 8-9 years out of the average one. There are two main factors that affect autonomy: attention to the platform and the brightness of the screen. In games and at maximum brightness you can run for less than 7 years, in economy mode or with reduced brightness - more than 10. Refer to these numbers.

Well, let’s remember that it’s unlikely that you would be surprised to watch a movie that lasted 8 years without interruption. There will be more mixed scenarios: cinema/internet/reading, etc. And in the middle it will be between 8 and 9 years.

The charging time is extremely long – 5-6 years for a complete battery. I want this to be the case with all current tablets.

Also, in this section, it should be noted that many customers have had problems assessing the battery's usefulness - the system seems to be incorrectly charging the battery and not allowing the battery to be charged to full capacity. As far as I understand, there is no correction for this yet.

So, let's sum up the advantages and disadvantages of the Asus T100TA.

Pros

  • The price is low for such possibilities. Having paid 18,000 rubles, you will receive a tablet and a docking station, so that, in all fairness, you will have a full-fledged home laptop.
  • Negligence for the home will increase productivity, guarantee the sensitivity of the system in everyday affairs.
  • The burning hour of autonomous robots.
  • Full value of Windows 8 with desktop programs.
  • License for Microsoft Office 2013 as an acceptance bonus.

Minuses

  • The keyboard and touchpad are really rotten.
  • Duje long time ago charging, not every power supply is suitable.

I didn’t write down the screen as a minus, because for a budget device such parameters as this one are acceptable. Prote evaluate this product as “it could have been better.”

I would also like to secure the 3G modem. On one side - so, you want to take a small hand-held tablet with you on the road, saving access to the edge. First of all, the T100 is still the best for a home tablet. In other words, 3G/LTE significantly adds advantages to devices, which is wrong with a budget device.

Considering my personal preferences, I was very pleased with the productivity of the new platform - the tablet on the robot looks smart and smart. I didn’t feel any negativity when working with a tablet (itself in the role of a tablet). Unfortunately, I couldn’t interact with it through the crappy keyboard and touchpad on the desktop, so I have no special enemies here. And it’s good to know that you may have any difficulties with the new interface, but the PZ is still a good old desktop, on which you can earn everything you need.

Subjective thought: Asus T100 - the story of one purchase (Vitaly Kazunov)

Menu required new laptop on the current platform there is a replacement for the old one, which is completely worn out. Vimogi were simple. Small in size, about 10 inches, so you can throw it in your bag. Those same vіdnosti to vaga - the less, the more beautiful. The outward appearance tucked into the rest of the drawer, I needed a car, because it wasn’t bad. Alya really wanted to get off in front of her Garniy screen on par with modern tablets (both touchscreen, IPS), three hours of autonomous work (at least 8:00), as well as a fast processor so that you can comfortably work in office applications. The price, of course, is also significant.

The Asus Transformer Book T100 is available for the Windows platform. Not just a laptop, but a hybrid! “With a slight touch of your hand” it can be converted to a tablet, and if you connect it to a monitor (via the Micro-HDMI port), a keyboard and a bear (via USB), you’ll have a completely unpretentious office PC.

The specifications of the Asus T100 turned out to be more desirable. The new generation Intel Atom platform has provided amazing productivity. Judging by the results, two gigabytes of RAM did not have a negative impact on the speed of the system, as it was not used by important programs. There was a guarantee of 10 years of autonomous operation, battery charging via the Micro-USB port, and the touch screen was based on IPS technology (not very bright, but is much easier to install in budget laptops with TN displays).

As an operating system, Windows 8.1 was installed, and as a bonus, Asus added a license for Microsoft Office 2013 Home & Student. In the USA, such a device costs about 400 dollars. In Europe, this amount increased to 500 dollars.

The fragments of the laptop at the time of purchase were not available on the Russian market; they happened to be bought from our neighbors, from Poland. Taking a modification with 32 GB of internal flash memory and a 500 GB hard drive integrated into the keyboard docking station.

The fragments of the Asus T100 corrode for several months, meaning there is a pitfall.

The basic BIOS of the laptop must be flashed to a new one as soon as possible, otherwise the device will gradually become unstable in the state of sleep (sometimes it is only necessary to re-install it - it is difficult to remove the life button). The firmware procedure is simple, carried out through the installed Asus WinFlash utility. Moreover, after installing the Asus LiveUpdate add-on, it will automatically remind you that you need to update the BIOS.

As expected, the package with the laptop includes a code for the licensed version of Office 2013 Home & Student. As soon as I bought the device outside the cordon, the Office provided support for the Russian language, and I had a chance to buy some okremo (which cost about 20 dollars).

Charging via the Micro-USB port... There is a trick here. Included charging Asus easily copes with its tasks, the device charges quickly. It’s hard to name a specific hour, I carry the fragments of the T100 with me all day long, and the energy for work runs out in excess, and I put it at noon for refueling. At the same time, charging the Asus no longer reached the water supply in the booth, and the attempt to charge the laptop, which is also charging the smartphone, proved to be a fiasco - the energy was collected more and less accumulated. If you turn on the T100 and connect it to standard charging, it will take 12 years to recharge the battery.

The microSD card slot is, unfortunately, rather shallow. Wash the card from the case and click when pressed. You won't be able to use an SD card to increase the amount of flash memory. I recommend that before purchasing, think about the T100 version with 64 GB of flash memory. On my device, with 32 GB, the operating system took up 22 GB, leaving less than 10 GB.

I'm not a big fan of the tiled interface of Windows 8.1. I respect you, and the interface of “tile” programs is incomprehensible, especially since they compare with their analogues on Android or iOS. In tablet mode, as people smile in Microsoft commercials, I didn’t like the T100. However, in the standard Windows mode, I know the touch screen and the hybrid nature will be even more colorful.

For example, there may have been no need for a touchpad. You can either click your finger on the desired location, the icon or pull the side down, then move the cursor over the desired location. For these reasons, editing documents has become easier. Once the text is ready, you can lift the screen from the docking station and sit in a quiet place, so as not to bother re-reading it carefully, making minor edits using the electronic keyboard. As prices rise, it’s also easier to disable the docking station and watch movies and read books on the tablet screen. Well, a 500 GB hard drive is a welcome addition. Tomorrow you can throw on a new great debt of information.

The T100's speed code was a welcome surprise. The four-core Intel Atom Z3740 miraculously copes with most tasks. I don’t feel pressured to scroll through the Internet browser for an hour and look at so many important windows. Office programs (I’ll tell you right away, with important Excel tables I didn’t work) – really. Easily edit images in Photoshop - no problem. What a surprise, games with simple 3D graphics (League of Legends, DOTA 2, World of Tanks, Counter-Strike 1.6, GTA: San Andreas, Halo: Spartan Assault, World of Warcraft, Torchlight, The Walking Dead) perform with consistently high performance frame rate. So while you're out and about, you can keep yourself busy with films, books and social activities.

If you criticize the keyboard from the side of observers, then confusion will not come in handy. The keys are clearly marked and operate much more easily on the T100 than on my previous netbook. I would like to introduce here, perhaps, the principle of the least evil.

Please note that it is possible that docking stations with a hard drive installed will be separated from docking stations without them. My hip has no tension and there is no tension on the arch under the fingers, the body is hard, not springy. I was really pleased with the mechanism for attaching the screen. On one side, the screen can be easily removed and docked, and on the other side, the docking station hangs on it like a glove, so you can lift the laptop by the screen and shake it.

Visnovok

It’s hard to look at the T100 as a tablet – it would be simply because of the defective “tiled” interface and Windows 8.1 add-ons. First of all, the Asus T100 is a laptop with the nice bonus of being able to pinch the screen, and the Windows 8.1 operating system allows you to work with normal versions of programs, and not with their “thwarts” for Android and iOS.

As a laptop, the Asus T100 is still unmatched by its competitors in terms of price and performance. Small size (the weight of the version with a 500 GB hard drive is 1170 g), compact size (fits in a case for a 10-inch tablet), compact body, good IPS touch screen, good speakers, satisfactory performance (for processors with yam ) - so wonderful), low power, long hours of autonomous operation, charging (secured) via the Micro-USB port. The version with a hard drive installed in the docking station provides an additional 500 GB for saving data. Yes, the bonus is a licensed Microsoft Office 2013 Home & Students.

In my opinion, this device demonstrates where the laptop evolution may be headed. Ultrabooks are a dud, the unreasonably high price limits their popularity. And such compact, inexpensive hybrids based on new energy-efficient Intel processors may be available until the personal computer market grows. There is a golden mean: a tablet, a laptop, and an operating system, created not only for wastelands, but also for work.

P. S. There are a lot of correspondents who write that when the BIOS is updated using standard methods, the tablet stops working.

ASUS is heading a major blow to the hybrid tablet market.

  • Pros:Comparative prices and benefits of the hybrid Connection | Robot hour;
  • Disadvantages: Low screen separation | Bulky | Minimal productivity;

The updated older brother, T200, has saved all those that we fell in love with in its predecessor with full value, but ownership great screen 11.6-inch diagonal, fast processor, multiple access ports and a manual 2.5-inch keyboard dock.

Like the Transformer devices that came before it, the T200 is a tablet/laptop hybrid, which means you won't have to splurge on two devices. And the documents may sound good, which also means that the planter has cut the bushes in the process of developing a hybrid. Fortunately, it is not necessary to be so cruel to the T200, some of the wines can claim to be the winner of both form factors.

The price is approximately 35,000 rubles, and there are a number of other hybrids that demonstrate the characteristics of a similar level. In fact, most other tablets in this price category come with a docking keyboard included, which is quite a change on the right.

DesignASUSTransformerBookT200

At first glance, it may look like a netbook, but the ASUS Transformer Book T200 has a more sophisticated device than the older generation of laptops, which were more popular for a reason. With the lid closed, the T200 can easily be mistaken for the premium ZenBook line from ASUS with a similar concentric circular design, which makes the tablet feel more comfortable in the hands than smooth plastic or metal.

And the docks cannot be packed with the same productivity, and do not, however, contain high-oxide metals/polycarbonate, like their expensive counterparts, a hybrid tablet will easily fit into a business partner’s business or even a large city .

As you are interested in a variety of buttons and ports, the T200 has a dedicated life button, density and special Windows key easily accessible at the top left part of the tablet - right there, where you could check them. The tablet is also equipped with a Micro-SD card reader for increased storage capacity, as well as a micro HDMI connector so you can display video on a large screen, if necessary. There is also a Micro USB connector, which provides the functionality of a full-fledged USB with an additional extension cable.

You'll also find two multi-size USB ports - one of which is USB 3.0 certified. There is also an RJ45 LAN port, which has a unique design that allows you to cut a few millimeters from the thickness of the tablet to fit the full-size design.

On the back of the tablet you will find a 5 megapixel middle camera located on the top of the tablet, while on the front panel there is a 2 megapixel camera, which is more than enough for video calls, but it fails miserably live in some other places - especially in the minds of the filthy world. The stereo speakers will provide booming sound, which means you can sometimes use your hands when using the tablet without a docking station.

The docking station features a small, oversized keyboard with sharp, splayed keys, similar to keyboards that are a popular choice on laptops today, but the touchpad is no longer as expansive as it looks. This is the size of the hybrid.

Once again, there is a docking clasp and a matte plastic, but the only surprise is the additional storage compartment, which comes with a 500 GB hard drive in the ASUS Transformer Book T200. Also, don’t forget about the noisy fan that can be used as a robot – there is virtually no noise from the hard drive and the grinder.

Zhebrak pixels

The ASUS Transformer Book T200 hybrid tablet is equipped with an 11.6-inch IPS display with a separate section of 1366 x 768 pixels, which gives us 135 pixels per inch. And although this could be detrimental for laptops and tablets, there are many reasons why pixel defects become obvious if you place a hybrid next to Full HD panels, such as, for example.

With the Windows 8.1 operating system installed in the original manner, the screen is designed to be quite flat so that the system becomes comfortable to use, or to accommodate a shoulder-to-shoulder hybrid with small tablets with an ultra-high separation height, like the T20 screen 0 becomes more and more disappointing. Of course, if you look at everything else that fits into the price tag of the ASUS hybrid tablet, it’s not so surprising.

As long as we are talking about IPS panels, you can choose bright colors and bright colors, but the glossy front panel can become problematic unless you turn up the brightness to the maximum. The touch screen is deprived of accurate, sensitive and useful colors for scrolling and quick navigation.

CharacteristicsASUSTransformerBookT200

The tablet itself measures 205 x 194 x 11.95 mm, which means that it’s not the closest hybrid to its Android and Apple counterparts, but let’s not forget that you’re taking away a lot of folding tablets 2nd version of Windows, how competitors are selling vikoristovat mobile OS.

By taking into account the hinge mechanism, the keyboard dock adds another 26 mm, which pushes the thickness of the model to a whopping 38 mm. Regardless of the fact that there is no need for a great hybrid of the same with most “normal” laptops, they, of course, feel similar, not like Apple MacBook Air or ASUS ZenBook UX305.

CharacteristicsASUS Transformer Book T200:

  • Processor: 4-core Intel Core Bay Trail-T Z3775 1.46 GHz;
  • Graphics: Integrated Intel HD Graphics;
  • RAM: 2 GB LPDDR3;
  • Display: 11-inch HD IPS display (16:9) with separate 1366 x 768;
  • Memory added: 32 GB EMMC from 500 GB HDD;
  • Port (Tablet): 1x Micro HDMI, 1x Micro USB, 1x MicroSD;
  • Ports (Dock): 1x microphone/headphone jack, 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0, 1x RJ45, 1x Micro USB;
  • Connections: Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0;
  • Camera: 5 MP/2 MP;
  • Dimensions (Tablet): 305 x 194 x 11.95 (W x D x H);
  • Dimensions (D): 305 x 200 x 26 mm (W x D x H);

A tablet without a keyboard weighs 780 grams, which makes it light and handy, often because important components, such as the hard drive, are located in the keyboard. The keyboard itself weighs another 760 grams, and while the combination of devices includes Acer TravelMate B115 and Dell Insirion 11 3000, the tablet, as before, does not feel all that important.

Returning to the docking station, you will note that the hinge actually lifts the base on the back panel, which means you are removing the accessory cut. Whether this is due to the choice of designers or the interchange that is imposed by the hinge, it creates a more secure position for the other and saves the balance of the T200 when it is in laptop mode.

  • Cinebench 11.5 CPU: 1.31 (rich nuclear); 0.23 (single core); Graphics: 7.04;

The ASUS Transformer Book T200 tablet comes with Atom BayTrail processors with low energy consumption, the same homeland of processors as the previous model, but the clock frequency has increased from 1.33 GHz to 1.46 GHz. And while the earlier iteration of this processor was already limited to the range of laptop-tablet hybrids, this particular Atom is designed to be limited to the range of ASUS devices.

Other variants of this processor can be found in such competitors, as well as with a higher separate screen and other functions, but they usually have an increased clock frequency.

Tim is not less, the processors of this generation are significantly wider than the Clover Trail processors that were before, so you can pay for a day’s productivity with additional benefits every day and viewing web pages. The original Intel graphics chip does not provide enough effort to run heavy games, but the T200 is completely built when you need to play games or create high-quality videos, or programs running in the background.

When running the 3D Mark tests, the scores were higher and lower, meaning for the Transformer Book T200 16722 and 10307 points in Ice Storm Unlimited and Extreme, which is 10 hundred points higher than the ASUS Transformer Book T100. More intensive tests of Cloud Gate and Sky Diver, however, revealed a lack of graphical strain, with even lower scores and frame rates across the board.

2 GB of RAM in the ASUS Transformer Book T200, as we have examined, means a lot of work is limited, but it does not mean much productivity. with critical programs. Other models are available with 4 GB of RAM, which is sufficient for all kinds of memory-hungry add-ons.

Given the energy savings of Intel's new Atoms, it's no wonder that the T200 managed to outperform other cheaper laptops in PC Mark tests, with the tablet lasting 10 years before giving up the ghost.

Security software for the kit

Fortunately, ASUS did not go down the wrong path with the previously-obsessed software for the T200. Several well-known programs, such as PhotoDirector and PowerDirector, provide basic image and video editing functions.

ASUS also offers the Zinio add-on, which is a kind of magazine that allows you to view the site without the need to connect to multiple websites using a different browser. Netflix, of course, the news sharing app and the Twitter app come pre-installed, following the fate of the overpaid monstrous ASUS monstrosity, although the price is better, and even more alternative options from Microsoft and Google.

One thing every day, then this office programs Therefore, most buyers will require additional costs for a Microsoft Office license or other cost-free equivalent.

Leaderspouches

ASUS Transformer Book T200 is a very nice combination of a tablet and a laptop, with an attractive design and a reasonable price tag. If you want, it may not be the best tablet, among those available, but not the best one straining laptop For just a pittance, the T200 is deprived of the added hybrid.

Despite the fact that the tablet is made of plastic with rounded edges, it does not necessarily feel cheap. According to ASUS, the tablet is a reliable equal world for two modes of rotation.

And while the Windows 8.1 add-on store has not yet reached full maturity, the tablet is under keruvannyam Windows It has its own special features when it comes to the selection of large programs, as well as the ability to launch multiple programs at the same time.

The ASUS Transformer Book T200 hybrid tablet offers a competitive price and benefits that those with larger budgets might consider purchasing a heavy-duty standalone laptop or a larger tablet.

We were privileged to: Speaking about the tablet, the T200 is quiet, lightweight, well-built and a smart tablet for a normal everyday user. The term of battery service is excellent, so you won’t have to stick to the sockets all day long.

A “smart” hard disk drive provides plenty of available storage space, with about 32 GB of storage space available on a 32 GB SSD, and despite the disappointment of low storage capacity, the IPS display delivers high brightness I’ll take a look around.

The connectivity options of USB 3.0 and the RK45 ports are being expanded, and a reasonable amount of advanced software fits neatly into the package.

We didn’t get it: Although the ASUS Transformer Book T200 is a great machine for fighting riches, we can’t call it an undogged hybrid. The biggest drawback is the low screen size, which, regardless of brightness and color dynamics, appears pixelated on most modern smartphones and most other tablets.

And while there is no real hybrid yet, I can’t stop thinking about how the docking station with the keyboard could be thinner in order to emphasize the combination. Compared to most other tablets, the Book T200 is significantly thinner, closer to the shape of a laptop, and there are alternatives on the market that are less than half the thickness.

Concluding thoughts

If you are looking for a combination of Windows, laptop and tablet, the new ASUS Transformer Book T200 is an even more attractive option that will cost you a fair price, around 35,000 rubles.

But I especially want to have a larger screen separation and a thinner body, but I want to make compromises from Vikon in order to make a hybrid tablet affordable, much cheaper than the average laptop and tablet.

If you don’t plan to take clear videos, take photographs, edit music, and are ready to survive the day-to-day life of the latest Crysis on the machine, the new T200 requires enough effort and a painful hour of autonomous work to cope with its we are in charge.

For those who need additional options, the Surface Pro 3 is an even more powerful option that delivers similar functionality in a slimmer form factor and with additional weight. Otherwise, if you think more, ASUS can introduce a powerful 13-inch Transformer Book TX300, which has an i7 processor and a Full HD panel.

From the moment netbooks appeared, they made a great contribution to technological developments - they were cheap, portable and handy in the world. Tablets that appeared later could be shipped around the same time, but were limited by the capabilities of touch controls. This itself became the main reason, through which retailers began to report significant efforts on the release of the device, thereby embodying the positive risks of both the tablet and the netbook.

Retailers have begun to look at the functionality of compact devices, and tablet PCs are quickly becoming popular among netbooks. Once released, you can combine the best features of both devices - on one side, a small, lightweight netbook with a ten-inch screen and a compact keyboard, on the other hand, you can use half of it by turning the gadget into a tablet on Windows 8. Why is the product of this device so pleasing? - total is close to $400.

External appearance and specialness

If your presented netbooks are designed as miniature devices with little productivity, be warned – this Asus model has nothing like that. Behind its current appearance, the Asus T100TA is not only compact, but also visually appealing. Dark gray plastic, from which the base of the body is painted, is effectively formed under the metal. The glossy surface of the transformer's cover is embellished with circular markings, which create an unusual wrapping effect around the Asus logo.

When the tablet is simmered, it will weigh more than 550 grams and may be eleven millimeters of thickness. At the same time, hostility develops about not everything good juiciness collections, especially to compare devices with competitors on Android or iPad Air. It can be called a small price, which is not justified by the low price. The enemy is also to blame for visual inspection device In fact, the body is durable and resistant to external infusions. The Asus Transformer Book T100TA tablet and keyboard are secured with two latches on the hinges, which open when pressed all the way.

Functionality

Povna Windows support 8 (version for personal computers) there is a small place under the new IntelAtom processors, and devices in the same price category were previously released, but the T100 is still being differentiated from them. First of all, there is a new BayTrailAtom processor, which works faster and delivers much more power. In addition, the device communicates garniy termin battery life, and its shape and design look very nice. In other words, the transformer is new versions Windows 8 is favorably seen among other market propositions.

Of course, the physical keyboard differs little from other models - the keys are compactly spaced and have even small dimensions. However, the touch panel is the same size as the surface of the device, and is scratched with even liquid moisture.

To remove the upper half, you need to press the button, move the right hand over the keyboard, and then pull the mechanical clamp. You can easily take the device back using similar actions.

The Asus Transformer T100TA keyboard is located on the lower half, has its own USB 3.0 port, other ports are located on the upper half of the transformer.

Display and screen

The tablet's split 1366 x 768 pixel touch display looks ugly, if not particularly bright. Regardless, it is suitable for a ten-inch screen, and the IPS panel offers a wide range of views. Despite the low brightness, the contrast ratio is 889:1, which guarantees clear reproduction of details in images and films. The transfer of colors is also somewhat problematic - you can notice that the color is too yellowish, and some shades lack the sweetness. However, these particularities cannot be called overly significant, but the doctor will add them.

The Asus T100TA tablet looks amazing, but the device is thicker and larger than the iPad or most commonly Android devices. Of course, it is portable, but still does not look like a stand-alone tablet. The device looks like the lid of a laptop, which is located near its base. For simple home use, the gadget is completely fine, but you won’t be able to use it without a keyboard. Besides, the little bits are unintentionally spoiled Home button- displacement of pressure Windows icon, located a little lower than the display, you must press the bottom left button on the side of the tablet.

If you have the Asus Book T100TA device, it weighs approximately 1.2 kg. This type of software is quite pleasant for a 10.1-inch netbook. The tablet is important twice as much. You can use it with one hand, but if you don’t need to do it manually, it’s better to practice it with both hands.

Another significant drawback of the Asus Transformer Book T100TA 64Gb is the lack of a camera on back surface. You won't be able to take photos, except selfies for your avatars. The 1.3-megapixel front-facing webcam is ideal for all purposes, such as video recording.

Interior architecture

The new generation BayTrailAtom Z3740 multi-core processor is located in the middle of the device with about 2 GB of RAM and a 64 GB SSD for storing information. This is one of the first devices released on processors of the new class of Atom: the first tablets on Windows 8 were loaded with decent gadgets, but at a low level. They coped poorly with everyday tasks, but could not carry out important programs. During the development of the Asus T100TA, the current Silvermont microarchitecture was used. Due to this design, the four-core processor ensures high tension, as well as USB support 3, DDR3 RAM and 64-bit operating system. Graphical productivity is a positive reflection of the Ivy Bridge-class GPU technology.

The frequency of the aforementioned processor is set to 1.33 GHz. In addition, this product runs at burst frequencies up to 1.86 and can support up to 4 GB of RAM (not to mention that the basic configuration of the Asus Transformer Book T100TA 64Gb carries 2 GB of RAM).

Productivity

Every day, the Asus T100TA 32Gb has all these features that give very good results. If you compare Windows 8 to the latest generation device (with an AtomCloverTrail processor), this Asus model is the current speed record holder. Programs are used more energetically, the browsing of web pages is smooth and smooth, and several programs run without interruption, right up to the point where 2 GB of RAM begins to appear.

Port your connection

The tablet's ports and slots for connection are recognized and also functional: MicroUSB, MicroHDMI, MicroSD card slot, as well as a USB3.0 port on the keyboard base. The Asus Transformer Book T100TA tablet has 802.11a/G/N Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

Battery testing

The battery life of the robot is not as great as it should be with Atom devices. As testing shows, with a slightly dimmed screen, turned off Wi-Fi and viewing only text documents and saving web pages, the gadget lasts just over nine years. Of course, the price is lower than that of competitors. For example, the Dell Latitude 10 operates in this mode for 12 years and 35 hours, but it’s important to note that the T100 is much less important, and this is a definite plus.

Integrated programs

Another indispensable advantageous feature of the Asus T100TA is a set of software installed behind the computer. Apparently, the Asus company has managed to reach homeowners with retailers to provide devices with licensed Microsoft Office and Student 2013. For rich people, one of these will be enough to see the gadget as the obligatory purchase that is planned.

Operating system

Meanwhile, it’s time to think about what Windows 8 is needed for. This operating system does not need to be suitable desktop computers even laptops without touch screens. I also use stand-alone tablets (without a keyboard) that can cause problems with your choice. To manage Windows 8, you need the ability of the robot to touch screen, and with physical keys. Thus, the transformer is a single functional option for this operating system. In addition, the available Asus T100TA docking allows you to connect Various devices Greater functionality of a mini-laptop.

Verdict

At a time when Microsoft is still trying to outcompete its customers, since Windows RT devices are the netbook's greatest attackers, Intel has made good adjustments - ARM does not positively fit into the Windows operating system.

The new Atom platform will provide significantly increased productivity, enough power for casual gaming and great battery life, which allowed the company to sell the Asus Book T100TA 64GB for just 400 dollars. As the fakhivtsi respect, the news for Windows RT is even worse.

What's more, the T100 itself offers all the features you can get from a transformer, and at a very low price. Regardless of the shortcomings, the device, melodiously, will become popular among koristuvachs in various parts of the world.

What can you get from this transformer? Again, the products indicate that the device is perfectly suitable for everyday basic work and is quite clear.

T100 is both a laptop and a tablet. The device functions as an accessory, and the results are inconsistent. Having spent about 400 dollars in total, you will get two gadgets with a trivial battery and a fully functional “weight”.

Positive rice

As it is known among computer users, a definite plus is that the Asus Transformer Book T100 runs on Windows 8.1 and comes with a full-fledged keyboard. trivial term Battery service is charged at a low cost.

Nedoliky

The small size of the keys, as typists know, becomes tiresome when typing. In addition, the brightness and color transmission of the screen are somewhat limited and distorted. It becomes especially noticeable when watching films.

Asus Transformer Book T100TA is an inexpensive 10-inch tablet running Windows 8, which, thanks to its keyboard, can also function as a laptop. This is no longer the first affordable hybrid - the Vivo Tab Smart ME400 tablet computer is still gaining popularity, but it also has the most practical hinge in its class in a laptop style. The T100TA is not a replacement for the rest, since it features a remarkably low-power Atom processor, but for £349 it is a powerful device with an excellent price-performance ratio.

Design

Although the closest relative of the Asus Transformer T100TA may be the ME400, the fragments work under Windows, the design of the hybrid is in many ways close to the Transformer Android tablets, as the manufacturer released the remaining rocks. The butt can be the Transformer Pad TF701T.

Instead of the Asus T100TA wireless keyboard, the hinges of the laptop are used. With an attached hybrid base, it can easily be mistaken for a small laptop. This is not the same as the mother wants, but there is a lot more conversion of the sum of the tablet and laptop, even the older ME400, in which I was victorious dartless keyboard, which is less reliable in using additional magnets.

For the replacement of road transformers of the manufacturer, which work under Android controls, Asus T100TA made of polycarbonate. A little bit of metal is added to the middle of the hinge to ensure the necessary rigidity, but the main material of the tablet is plastic.

The hybrid is divided into several variations. The back panel of the tablet is highly glossy, the area near the keyboard is stylized with polished metal, and the bottom of the docking station is slightly soft and made of matte plastic. Three different types of processing add to the Asus Transformer T100TA single-handed design, but, not surprisingly, it looks completely organic.

The color of the keyboard keys, the internal hinge and the volumetric screen of the device is dark blue. The very careful use of color does not allow the T100TA model to look bad. The Transformer looks good, even if it sacrifices a little to the shiny aluminum Transformer Pad. The Asus T100TA tablet does not suffer from serious folding problems, regardless of the design of the bottom frame. Glyantseva back panel Not very suitable for fingers, but the design is not very good for the screen Gorilla Glass will ensure garniy zakhist like rags. However, like many transformers, the screen frame is wide, which gives the hybrid a less modern look than the iPad Air or Google Nexus 7. However, this does not seem like a big drawback, since the release of a smaller tablet And they look good, based on Windows. 1st product by Asus Whose sense has to dosit with the butt.

Practical design of hybrid orientations and accessibility. The keyboard module and tablet weigh 550 g each and have a thickness of 11-12 mm. They are strengthened one way at a time, and there is no noticeable stench. There are thinner and lighter 10-inch tablets. The design of the keyboard is also not very noticeable. Ale at once stinks of forming a miracle team.

The base unit does not require another battery - only the keyboard, touchpad and one full-size USB 3.0 connector. The keys are flattened and low, like a netbook. The right Shift is small, stand up to the key A before the apostrophe is 188 mm versus 203 mm for a full-size keyboard, otherwise you can use it - the movement and tactile feel are adequate. The koristuvachs could work with a garnished liquid for just a few days after unpacking the device.

True, behind the voices of the Vlasniks, the touch panel went to sleep several times, ignoring gestures. To awaken it, it was necessary to rub it intensively. After this, the touchpad worked smoothly, including standard navigation gestures and folding gestures, such as scrolling with two fingers. It is easier to use than a touch screen. If you take a break from the robotic panel, it will depress you. The USB mouse functions normally, but the need to carry it completely eliminates all the advantages of a compact mobile hybrid.

For a lightweight 1.2 kg Asus T100TA 64Gb, you need no more than a lightweight ultrabook. And like any normal laptop, the keyboard protects the screen, if there is a hybrid arrangement of the case. Those that Asus releases devices like this, for a long time, can be distinguished by the fact that their loops are connected. The smell is nice, elegant and not expensive - just press the button on the inside to release the mechanism that locks.

One of the boundaries is a cut of criticism. Asus Transformer Book T100TA 64Gb opens smoothly, like a normal laptop, but is locked at 135 degrees so that the tablet does not easily tip back. Since the screen part contains more energy than that of a standard laptop, the transformer will fall out so you can put it on your lap. However, the company reported to its security balance that the base unit is less important than the tablet, although it does not contain a weak battery.

In contrast to many other hybrids, the keyboard cannot boast of a wide variety of connectors. There is only one USB 3.0 connector, which allows you to connect a mouse, externally harsh disk and other accessories.

The Asus Transformer Book T100TA tablet has a micro-MDMI video output, a headphone jack, a microSD card tray and a microUSB port. Its configuration is simple, but it ensures ease of operation. According to the users, they need those that use a microUSB connector for both data transfer and charging. This means that you can use the charging device in Android phone(However, for fast charging you need a 2A charger).

It’s just one miracle of possession. The OS logo on the front panel does not indicate the “Start” button, and going to the home panel is just a logo. Spravzhnya Windows button- it’s just a piece of plastic on the side, using a goad to adjust the thickness. It is possible to get the Asus Transformer T100TA tablet to be cheaper, but the placement is not so easy, since the key was on the front panel.

Keyboard and trackpad

The Asus Transformer Book T100TA Dock is equipped with a double keyboard, which, in line with the large-sized devices, does not require typing beyond the adjacent number pad. The keys are smaller than the most important ones, which are important from those that sound to great sizes, any time in order to use them at full speed.

The prote Koristuvachs deserved it. This is a rich feature that is similar to most Bluetooth keyboards that people buy for their tablets: precise clicks and good travel, while maintaining the small size of the keys.

Vіdsutnіst droneless connection Eliminates the need for a permanent backup battery. The resentful parts of the hybrid come together for the help of good old metal roses. The function keys also allow you to control speech such as the volume and brightness of the screen, which the keyboard of third-party devices cannot do.

However, the T100 injection module is not ideal. Your trackpad is visible to the report of Zusil. The critical touch surface is shaped by the size of the keyboard module, but it is very cramped, and the softness of the buttons is in the middle. Although the line, which indicates their separation, is placed in the lower part of the panel, in fact it extends to the top of the platform, where there is a dead zone 2-3 cm wide. Both the right and left zones are not entirely clear. This is one of the weakest models of the Asus T100TA.

Screen

The Asus T100TA has a separate screen of 1366 x 768 pixels measuring 10.1 inches diagonally. Light tablets have a low display - the point here is smaller, which is significantly less than the size of the Google Nexus 7. As a result, their density is up to 155 dpi, which is at the risk of weaker values.

As a result, the text in close-up looks a little indestructible. Of course, such pixel density is not the norm for laptops. You still have to pay a lot for the high cost of rent, and tablets running Windows are available everywhere. Through the operating system itself you have to put up with a hybrid for £349 of this size.

Asus Transformer T100TA 64GB is common among many budget laptops with a touch screen and is strikingly obvious. Since the panel is of the IPS type, there is no displacement displacement, as with TN displays, as you will be amazed at them under the great cut. This type of screen is much wider in laptops, but fortunately, it is also known in tablets.

The image brightness is indistinguishable from IPS analogues. The color accuracy is completely wrong - in fact, the skin tone looks a little darker underneath.

Software security and productivity

One of the advantages of the Asus T100Ta Docking Station is that it runs under the latest version of Windows 8.1, and not the reduced RT. It does not allow you to install programs other than those from the Windows Store, which imposes restrictions on your system.

The reason for this is that most low-budget tablets are really not tight enough for such freedom of action to exist. Like so many such computers, Asus Transformer Book T100TA has Intel processor Atom. It is much weaker for Intel Core chips, which are used in most mid-range and high-end computers, but the new generation of this model of the central processing unit is making great strides forward, which has even helped bring attention to the T100TA.

This one has a 1.3 GHz multi-core Intel Atom Z3740 Bay Trail generation. The wine is richer than the equivalent Clover Trail chip, which was released earlier. The PC Mark test shows that the processor can compete with previous generations of Intel Core i3. For an inexpensive laptop, the tightness of the Core is just fine, while for the Asus Transformer Book T100TA Intel Atom Z3740 tablet it’s even tighter. For the PC Mark 07 test, 2330 points were deducted. This is very close to the Intel Core i3 - the processor of a “normal” laptop costs up to 500 pounds. In practical terms, this means that the T100TA is ideal for everyday use. You don’t suffer from the sloppiness of some budget Windows tablets and can work with resource-intensive programs such as Photoshop without any problems. However, this is not a machine for important military personnel. The cheap T100TA processor requires only 2 GB of RAM - which is not enough for serious multitasking. As a result, the programs take many hours to attract.

The hybrid comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office for Home and Science (also known as tablets). Office version for Windows RT is standard, but the main problem here is the operating system, which is why it rarely fails.

Autonomous robot term

In addition to other transformers, the keyboard Asus Book T100TA power battery, how can we advance the hour of the hybrid’s operation, there is no way. Charging is done via the tablet's microUSB connector, which means you don't have to worry about wasting money on the drive. charging station No, the fragments of it can be replaced with a telephone one.

Asus confirms that the battery is built for 11 years of use. A low-intensity PowerMark test showed that the device can be cleaned for 12 years and 8 months. This is a wonderful display for any tablet and is especially striking in the Windows hybrid. This result is much faster than that of any laptop with the same operating system and lasts longer than the Surface Pro 2.

Sound

Another welcome surprise is the presence of stereo speakers, which are located under the crooked openings located on the glossy plastic of the back panel of the tablet. This is not the same place for sound. The speakers are not insulated, so at high levels of noise there is a noise coming from the back of the tablet and coming from the bottom sockets. This is not of great importance, since the stereo effect does not suffer much, and blocking the doors does not cause problems with the sensitivity of the device.

The vibrancy of the sound is entirely suitable for budget tablet, but it is impossible to call it significant. The sound is not too harsh or rustic, and the clarity of stereo is ideal for watching movies. The maximum volume is decent, but the low frequencies and the tightness of the shortest tablet speakers are not noticeable. It looks like acoustic system This is a legacy of serious compromise.

Camera

An even more obvious sacrifice of economy is the rear camera - it's just a day old.

There is only one front camera, which is used for video chat. It has a 1.2-megapixel sensor, which ensures that images are not noticeable at all. Photos are noisy and suffer from a lack of detail, and there is a halo around the bright lights, which is a sign of a low-brightness camera sensor.

About scho varto nobility

And also some minor oversights in the communication capabilities of the hybrid. Є Wi-Fi version n and Bluetooth 4.0, but also NFC, 3G/4G and IR transmission. Ceremony cob vine. However, a number of useful NFC programs for such a device can be handled on the fingers of one hand. And yet there is no tension. Gibids Building to launch a mustache program for Windows, Vin Light, Kestu, inexpensively, Prazu, 11 Godin without a break on the PIZARAKE through the USB port, pirmima wi-fi at frequency 2.4 I 5 GHz, supplied with the MS Office I MAX CLAVITURAS. On the other hand, the tablet has only 2 GB of system memory, a very responsive touchpad, and more than 31 GB Have a good time on an SSD drive, the keyboard is smaller than standard, and recharging is sufficient.

Chi varto kupuvati T100TA?

If it is a hybrid under the control of the Android OS, then one could rightly say that its design is a little outdated. However, an inexpensive transformer is exactly what the Windows tablet market needs. The devices seem to be a necessary stage in the growth of budget hybrids. It’s practical, it has a heavy, dirty screen, and its tiny design compensates for the lack of gaming programs created for tablets with Windows 8.

The transformer is not ideal - there are obvious improvements that can be made in later generations, such as screen technology, a trackpad, and it can also be used as a laptop for completing complex tasks. According to the voices of the koristuvachs, they would have outperformed the T100TA, lower Surface 2.

Verdict of the Koristuvachs

The Asus Transformer T100TA is a tablet that strips away all the fancy features to bring Transformers into Windows orbit without breaking the bank. And what happened became a real hit. If a hybrid of a tablet and a laptop running Microsoft’s operating system is the same as what is needed, then it’s not a good idea to look for a compelling proposition. T100TA has become a natural attacker of the netbook, which managed to avoid problems from the madness that plagued tablets under such operating systems, both iOS, Android and Windows RT.

Having found its new hybrid, the only reason to buy tablets with Windows RT: without the price advantage and exclusive ability to replace MS Office, what sense would it be to limit yourself to a dozen add-ons when you can have access to millions?
