These two reasons may be weighty arguments to wait for the release of the updated model, but we were completely satisfied with what PocketFinder already offers in the current version.

Directly from the application, you can check in on Facebook, switch to the topographical view of the map (as in Apple Maps) and add markers to other Trax trackers or even phones (for this, the owner must accept your invitation).
A feature that distinguishes Trax from all other devices is the “augmented reality” mode in the application, which allows (using the camera) to show the direction in which the tracker is located and the distance to it. This is a great opportunity, and in our tests it proved its usefulness for finding a child in the park among the crowd. The Trax augmented reality tool does not work well at close distances to the tracker (and a special indicator will tell you directly in the application), but at a distance of 50 meters and more it is a great tool that will save you a lot of nerves.
In addition, you can create geofences directly in the application, and in Trax you can easily draw them with your finger - this is the only tracker we have tested with this feature. However, be careful, we have noticed a significant delay between the real time of crossing the geofence boundary and the moment of receiving the notification. In the worst case, the delay is about 10 minutes, and usually around 5 minutes. In general, do not expect as punctual notifications from this device as PocketFinder does.
Trax ($ 249) may seem overpriced, but when you make a purchase in the States you get two years of free maintenance. According to the calculations made by the company, you will pay $ 129 for the device, and $ 120 for two-year service. The cost of further monthly maintenance will cost $ 5, which is about half less than the tariffs of any other trackers. Note that a prepaid SIM card (which cannot be removed) works not only in the USA, but also in 32 other countries!
Trax has a few flaws, but they are all minor. According to the manufacturer, the device works 24 hours without recharging, and this seems to be true. At least the GPS works exactly up to several meters.
The watches themselves are great for a small child. The data on the screen is large and easy to read (even in low light). The clock has only two buttons that are needed to call several programmed numbers (two-way communication). If you hold down the red button for four seconds, the tracker will call the numbers from the contact list in order until one of them responds, and also sends a notification to your phone. Easy two-way calling and sending SMS messages are the most powerful advantages of FiLIP 2.
On the other hand, children grow fast, so a $ 150 price tag may seem too high. If we recall the delay in notifications when working with SafeZone, then we can come to the conclusion that it is better to find another option.
What the owners say: FiLIP 2 on Amazon is 2.3 out of 5 stars - this is the worst result of all trackers in this test. Finally, you need to choose one of three tariff plans, which differ in cost and in the number of included voice minutes and text messages. Regardless of the chosen plan, you cannot change the 10-minute update step in the positioning. The device uses a built-in SIM card that can not be removed, and the tracker does not work in other countries. The watch uses a combination of GPS and location on the nearest cell phone towers, and we were very impressed with the results of its work.
Caref weighs 40 grams - about as much as any other electronic watch. The screen resolution is low, but all information is readable; and two-way communication and messages work fine. The SOS button, which in turn dials numbers from the contact list until someone responds, is a very useful option. The sound quality of the connection is better than we expected.
Unlike other models, Caref looks so imperceptibly that one cannot say that it is a GPS tracker - you can only determine this by the melody of a call that looks like a lullaby. The battery life is acceptable - the device works a whole day without recharging with not very active use. But you need to be careful, as the watch is not waterproof.
Caref has many advantages, as well as a number of fixable deficiencies. If the company spent more effort on optimizing the configuration process and less on developing luminous cables, this could be a much more impressive GPS tracker.
