In general, the Lenovo Vibe X2 box is beautiful and unusual, complex in structure, and due to its design is a logical continuation of the "multi-layer" style, which developers have chosen for their new smartphone.

Inside the drawers, in several compartments, a standard accessory kit is laid out: a universal charger (5 V, 1.5 A), a Micro-USB connecting cable, as well as wired stereo chamber with a flat implantable wire and rubber vacuum-type rubber incubusers. Appearance and ease of use

The design of the novelty is absolutely not similar to any of the preceding Lenovo devices. The smartphone has an unusual image, the hull seems to be collected from several layers. Moreover, these layers have different colors, varying depending on the base color of the housing, which is determined by the color of the rear wall.

That is, if we are talking about the gray case, the various shades of gray are prevailing in these layers, the golden - shades of red and pink, the red stripes are visible, and so on. In total, several different variants of colors were launched in production, but for the Russian market there are supplies of three of them: gray, red and golden (this color is presented in our pictures).

Such an unusual find in the design significantly affects the perception of the device, making it much more interesting and attractive, because in general, neither in the structure, nor in the materials of the Lenovo VIBE X2 case, there is absolutely nothing unusual.

The housing is not made of metal, but from plastic, and in form represents a completely ordinary "plate" with straight edges, flat surfaces and sufficiently sharp ribs. Due to the not very large dimensions and the small thickness, the smartphone is quite comfortable tolerated even in pants pocket.

In size, the device is really very small, for a large five-year display, the dimensions of the device almost recorded. The mass is also significantly less than most of the most modern large-digging models, and due to the matte surfaces, the smartphone is perfectly held in the hand, it does not slip and does not collect fingerprints.

Since the housing has a monolithic unintellular structure, then the appropriate method of installing the SIM card is used here: the card enters the side slot on metal sleds, to extract which it is necessary to use a complete key clinch. The device supports work with one SIM card format Micro-SIM, but there are rumors that there is also a modification of a smartphone with two SIM cards, simply this option is not provided for our market.

The camera module and a single LED flash are embedded with the surface of the back cover, none of the items drupt outwards. The chamber window is framed by a metal ring, the flash is capable of performing a flashlight role using the built-in program.

At the bottom of the back cover is a dynamics grid, made in the form of an array of small round holes. When the phone is located on the solid surface, the sound is almost completely overlap due to the lack of any protrusions on the back of the case.

The facial part of the housing is completely covered with a flat protective glass Gorilla Glass. The universal connector of a 3.5-millimeter access to headphones is located on the upper end, there are no other elements here. The plugs of the device connectors are not covered, not found on the body and fastening for the strap. Screen

Lenovo Vibe X2 is equipped with an IPS sensory matrix, protected by glass Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display brightness can be manually adjusted, and you can use automatic adjustment. Multitouch technology here allows processing 10 simultaneous touches. When making a smartphone to the ear, the screen is blocked using the approximation sensor. The screen, among other things, can be activated by double tapping on the glass, provides additional protection against accidental unlocking in your pocket or in a bag.

LENOVO VIBE X2 screen is slightly darker (photo brightness 99 against 102 Nexus 7). Two reflected objects in the Lenovo VIBE X2 screen is very weak, this suggests that there is no airbap between the screen layers (more specifically between the outer glass and the surface of the LCD matrix) (OGS-One Glass Solution). Due to the smaller number of boundaries (type of glass / air) with highly different refractive ratios, such screens look better in conditions of strong external illumination, but their repair in the event of a cracked exterior glass costs much more expensive, since it accounts for a whole screen. On the outer surface of the screen there is a special oleophobic (fat-repellent) coating (efficient, it can be slightly worse than Nexus 7), so traces of fingers are removed significantly easier, and appear at a lower rate than in the case of conventional glass.

When manually controlled brightness and when displaying a white field, the maximum brightness value was about 435 kD / m², the minimum is 5.8 kD / m². The maximum brightness is high enough, and, given the excellent anti-reflective properties, readability even on a sunny day outside the room could be at a good level, but everything, unfortunately, is not the case why - see below. In complete dark, brightness can be reduced to a comfortable value. In stock Automatic brightness adjustment over the illumination sensor (located to the right of the front camera). In automatic mode, when changing external light conditions, the screen brightness is rising, and decreases. In complete darkness, the auto-toreness function reduces the brightness of up to 14 kD / m² (dark, but you can read), in conditions of an artificial light of the office (about 400 lux), installs at 140 cd / m² (suitable), in a very bright environment (corresponds to the lighting clear day Outdoor, but without direct sunlight - 20,000 LCs or a little more) increases almost to a maximum - up to 420 cd / m². As a result, the function of the auto-adjustment of the brightness works absolutely adequately. Additionally, in the screen settings, you can enable high brightness mode, in this case we received about 610 kD / m². At any level of brightness, the backlight modulation is practically absent, so there is no screen flicker.

The screen has good viewing angles without a significant shift of colors, even with large looks from the perpendicular to the screen and without inverting shades. For comparison, we give the photos on which the same images are displayed on the Lenovo VIBE X2 and Nexus 7 screens, while the brightness of the screens is initially installed by about 200 kD / m² (on the white field in full screen), and the color balance on the camera is forcibly switched to 6500 to the camera. . The uniformity of the brightness and color tone of the white field is average, since to the bottom of the screen (to the right in the photo above) the brightness increases significantly. Contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) is good - about 860: 1. Response time when switching black-white-black is 15 ms (9 ms incl. + 6 ms off.). The transition between halftons of gray 25% and 75% (on the numerical value of color) and back in total takes 21 ms. Constructed by 32 points with an equal interval in the numerical value of the shade of a gray gamma curve did not reveal in neither lights or in the shadows. The index of the approximating power function is 3.06, which is significantly higher than the standard value of 2.2. At the same time, the real gamma curve is very deviated from the power dependence:

Due to the dynamic and very aggressive adjustment of the brightness of the backlight in accordance with the character of the displayed image (the brightness of the dark decreases) the resulting brightness of the brightness from the shade (gamma curve) does not match the gamma curve of the static image, since the measurements were carried out with a consistent output of shades of gray almost in full screen. For this reason, a series of tests - the definition of contrast and response time, comparing the illumination of black at angles - we were performed in the output of special templates with constant medium brightness, and not one-photo fields in full screen. In general, such and the inappropriate brightness correction is nothing but harm, since the constant shift of the screen brightness is at least some discomfort and reduce the distinguity of gradations in the shadows in the case of dark images. In this case, the manufacturer has surpassed everyone else, since this dynamic adjustment in the output of any image other than the white field in full screen, significantly underestimates the brightness that largely reduces the readability of the screen on bright light.

Color coverage from a practical point of view is SRGB:

As a result, visually colors have natural saturation. The balance of shades on the gray scale is good, since the color temperature is slightly higher than the standard 6500 K, and the deviation from the spectrum of absolutely black bodies (ΔE) is less than 10, which is considered a good indicator for the consumer device. In this case, the color temperature and Δe change little from the shade to the shade - this has a positive effect on the visual assessment of the color balance. (The darkest areas of the gray scale can not be considered, since there the balance of colors does not matter, and the measurement error of the color characteristics on the low brightness is large.)

In this smartphone, in the screen settings, it is possible to select a high brightness mode, set the option Advanced "Outdoor" (But there is no noticeable effect on the street including), incorporate some Adaptive mode, in which the increase in the yellowness of the screen allegedly reduces eye fatigue, as well as switch to manual mode, in which you can adjust the color tone, saturation (color contrast) and just contrast. After correction, the balance of colors has improved slightly, but not applicable. There is no particular need to interfere.

Let's summarize. Formally, the screen has a sufficiently high maximum brightness (even without additional amplification) and has good anti-glare properties. However, the dynamic adjustment of the illumination brightness strongly underestimates the brightness in the output of any image other than the white field into full screen, which significantly reduces readability under conditions with bright external lighting. Several reverses the mode with high brightness, but it will have to be turned on manually. In complete darkness, brightness can be reduced to a comfortable level. It is permissible to use and mode with automatic adjustment of brightness, working adequately, but not compensating the above features. The advantages of the screen should include an effective oleophobic coating, no flickering and air gap in the layers of the screen, as well as the color coverage of SRGB and a good color balance. To significant disadvantages - first of all the extremely aggressive illumination brightness and low stability of black to the rejection of the view from the perpendicular to the screen plane. Both of these lack (especially the first) no longer allow the screen to assign the screen "High Quality" - it is, as a result, average.

Sound

The main speaker in Lenovo Vibe X2 is only one, it makes a sufficiently loud and ringing sound, clean in the entire spectrum, but practically devoid of low frequencies. The lattice for the output of sound is embedded in the back wall, so the sound is significantly muted when the device lies on the table. In the conversational dynamics, the voice of a familiar interlocutor, the timbre and intonation remain recognizable, the conversation is quite comfortable.

To play music, here is only a regular Google Music player with a minimum number of settings in the form of pre-installed equalizer values.

FM radio in the full-time configuration of the smartphone is present, there is also a voice recorder. Also, the device is able to record telephone conversations from the line, for this it is enough to click on the special button in the phone application interface directly during the call.

Camera

Lenovo VIBE X2 is equipped with two digital camera modules with a resolution of 13 and 5 Mp. The frontal 5-megapixel camera has a fixed focus, the pictures are obtained in size of 2560 × 1920. It is possible to initiate the shooting of the "selfie" here in various ways: using gestures, voice commands and even blinking eyes, but simply clicking on the hardware key of the sound the shutter of the front camera does not work, and this is one of the most convenient ways. In the settings, it is possible to assign shooting on this hardware key, but it works only in the case of a rear camera.

The main, rear chamber is equipped with a 13 megapixel module with a diaphragm F / 2.2, autofocus and single LED flash. Optical stabilization is not here, as it is not possible to shoot video 4K or at 60 fps. The camera in terms of opportunities is quite simple, although with good lighting makes quite a balanced picture of the pictures.

The sharpness according to the plans is good and decreases quite smoothly, and with good lighting, it will probably be even better. In general, the camera copes not so bad and for documentary shooting it is quite suitable.

Telephone part and communication

The smartphone works standard in modern 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks, and there is also support for LTE fourth-generation networks. In practice, a SIM card of the domestic operator MTS smartphone confidently recognizes and works with 4G networks.
