A real masterpiece of medieval architecture is the Sistine Chapel, its construction was completed in 1483. It has preserved beautiful frescoes, a painted ceiling and decoration elements made of precious metals.

At the top of the cliff there is a unique historical complex - the Priamar fortress, the formation of which began in the first half of the 16th century. The fortress was built by order of the Genoese, who wanted to strengthen their power in the occupied territories. Already in the 16th century, the territory of the castle expanded significantly, a prison, a powder magazine, and also several ceremonial halls were built here. Today, part of a large-scale historical building is occupied by the exposition of the archaeological museum, and some of the halls are used for conferences and other large-scale events.

Art lovers will surely like the City Pinakothek, which is located in a luxurious 19th century palace with a snow-white facade. The museum displays a collection of unique works of art; paintings by famous artists of the Renaissance are considered its main value. You can also see ancient sculptures and ceramics collections in the museum; 22 halls have been allocated for the exposition in the palace.

One of the most beautiful architectural monuments of Savona is the Palazzo delle Piana.This beautiful palace is an example of the architectural style of the Liberty. The famous architect Alessandro Martinengo worked on the project of the palace; it was possible to build a luxurious palace in just one year. Today, its exquisite façade with carved balconies and sculptures is one of the most photographed sites in the city.
