Sony Xperia Z is one of the best phones on the market, but it turns out that Sony's flagship creates some problems for some users.

One of them is "Sudden Death." The phone suddenly "freezes" or turns off and only a hardware reset, or a combination of the power button + volume increase, helped.

What to do if a Sony phone hangs with a non-removable battery

On many Sony devices, the xperia batteries are non-removable, but the Japanese have foreseen such a turn and added a physical button to launch a hard reset.

Japanese company Sony more than 15 years is a manufacturer of mobile phones. For ten years she collaborated with the Swedish company Ericsson. But now the Japanese have taken full control of the work process. The company occupies a leading position in the market, their smart phones are of high quality and have their own corporate identity. But, like all technology, smartphones eventually fail.

A modern user, accustomed to constant communication, tries to find out and fix a breakdown as soon as possible. One of these problems that phone owners point to is when Sony Xperia does not turn on  the first time. There may be many reasons for this and deep diagnostics of the device will help determine them. Let's name some of them:

  • the battery fails (the battery of your product has its own life and eventually loses its capabilities);
  • power button fails (it may be contamination, mechanical damage, etc.);
  • possible firmware failure (Rarely, but a malfunction occurs);
  • breakdown of the power connector (Charging is not received).

There are other breakdowns. For example, your Sony Ericsson smartphone, when turned on, does not blink, but glows white. It so happens that the device is turned off and the battery is not charging when connected to the network. The cause of many breakdowns is the negligence of the owners themselves, allowing the apparatus to fall or to get liquid. In this case, you must immediately contact the electronics repair center.

I tried to update the smartphone according to the instructions. Before that, charged it completely. However, at some point of the update, the Sony PC Companion program stopped detecting my Sony Xperia S. The smartphone itself turned off, didn’t react to connecting / disconnecting the USB cable, or even pressing any on / off button. . In addition, the connection of the charger also did not lead to anything - the phone was not charging. I was even a little worried, because I would not want to take the device in for repair, and in general - to carry it somewhere and waste time on service. I decided to look for a solution on my own. As usual, it turned out to be simple to the banality. It was necessary to remove the battery, wait a minute and insert it back. Things are easy - remove this very battery! (By the way, in some technical descriptions of the Sony Xperia S smartphone they write that the rechargeable battery is not removable. This is not true - it just sits behind the protective cover. The smartphone has been made waterproof).

Pic.1  With a flick of your finger, slide the back panel up:

Under the panel you will find a protective cover that covers the electronic interior of the smartphone. To remove it, you need to unscrew 10 screws (marked with red in Fig.2). And to unscrew some of them, you will need a cross-head screwdriver, and for the rest, an hour screwdriver with a six-pointed asterisk - TORX. Without the presence of the latter, it is better not to start disassembling the smartphone.

After you unscrew these 10 screws, insert the slotted watch screwdriver into the small hole located to the right of the HDMI connector (see Figure 3), and with a little effort, pry off the cover.

For the final removal of this cover, use the technological tabs (marked with blue in Fig.2). Just be careful, they are easy to break. After the cover has succumbed, again, effortlessly and jerks lift it over the phone a centimeter by two. More will not allow you to make a loop from the board to the dynamics in this cover. Do not tear this loop!  Now you are available for removal of the battery.

Take it out, wait a minute and insert it into place. Assemble the smartphone in reverse order. When installing the protective cover, make sure that it fits tightly into place, with soft loud clicks around the perimeter. After this operation, my Sony Xperia S turned on and a further update to the assembly 6.1.A.2.45  passed normally
