Appearance, materials, controls, assembly

Outwardly, the Blade X3 looks like a typical budget smartphone without any eye-catching features, except for the unusually designed bottom panel with a touch ring, but more on that later.

The user can choose one of three versions of the device: gold, white or black. Pay attention to the official photos of the device, in the photo with the white model, the frames were specially reduced for her, it looks, of course, funny.

The back cover is made of matte smooth plastic, fingerprints easily remain on it (although, of course, it is not as easily soiled as gloss or glass), but they can be just as easily removed with any microfiber cloth.

Let's go through the controls:

Front camera and indicator light

Touchpad: Back, Home and Menu buttons

Right end. Power button and volume rocker. The keys have a short hard press, they protrude strongly, it is convenient to use them

Top end. 3.5 mm headphone jack

MicroUSB port and microphone hole

To remove the cover, you need to pry it over the microUSB port. Two slots for microSIM cards are hidden under it, one of them is combined with a slot for a microSD card

I didn't really like the touch panel, because in the dark I have to feel for it to turn on the backlight. By the way, if you want, you can swap the places of actions for the right and left buttons.

The main speaker has an average volume margin, but good quality, it does not wheeze at maximum volume. As regards the assembly, there are no complaints about the device.

Dimensions

I must note that despite the impressive battery capacity, the ZTE Blade X3 does not feel like a bulky smartphone in the hand. Yes, it is weighty and not as thin as the company's flagships, but all this is within reasonable limits. It is almost as comfortable to hold in the hand as the iPhone 6, adjusted for slightly greater width and weight.

Compared to Apple iPhone 6

Screen

HD-resolution is increasingly appearing in the segment under 10,000 rubles, and this fact makes me very, very happy. Speaking specifically about the display in the Blade X3, then it has good viewing angles, a good range in brightness, mediocre sun behavior and no oleophobic coating. That is, this is a typical average, but the screen is quite good for its money.

operating system

The device runs Android 5.1 with MiFavour proprietary shell. It seemed to me that specifically in X3, the version of the shell is greatly cut down, so all the elements look the same as on stock Android, the only exception is the launcher with rounded icons. To be honest, I like that you can put another launcher and actually get a device on pure Android with a couple of chips from ZTE like Russian letters in the dialer, for example.

Performance

Responsible for performance is an updated version of the good old MT6735 with the index "P". Its power is enough for the eyes for most everyday tasks and simple casual toys. More powerful games like Asphalt 8 will also work, but at medium settings.

Autonomous work

In fact, the battery in this model is removable, but in my sample it was covered with a warranty sticker, so, apparently, the manufacturer does not recommend replacing it yourself.

As for the battery life, the impressive capacity allows the Blade X3 to work for a couple of days with an average activity of two hours on the screen (twitter, mail, browser, instant messengers - all this on the mobile Internet). In our tests, the device also showed excellent results.

Camera

The camera shoots mediocre. You can take normal shots in sunny weather, but noise and pixelation appear under artificial lighting. The front camera, despite the high resolution, was also not impressive.

Wireless interfaces

The smartphone is inexpensive, so there is no NFC or newfangled Wi-Fi standards here. But there is support for two SIM-cards and a fast cold start GPS for MediaTek chipsets.

Conclusion

I had no complaints about the quality of speech transmission: you and your interlocutor hear each other perfectly.

Retail for the ZTE Blade X3 ask for 9,000 rubles. For this money, you get a smartphone with a capacious battery and a good display. Of the shortcomings, I will single out only a mediocre camera and 1 GB of RAM. And the lack of an oleophobic coating, of course. In my opinion, ZTE has released a good budget smartphone, because they did not save on key parameters (speed and operating time, screen quality). If you are looking for an inexpensive HD-resolution device, then be sure to check out this model.

Of the direct competitors for this money, there is only Xiaomi Redmi 3, but it is wrong to compare it with the Blade X3, because Xiaomi will be taken by those who are ready to wait for the device for two or three weeks and more or less know the brand, and ZTE can be purchased in most retail stores ...

Accelerometer (or G-sensor) - sensor of the device's position in space. As a primary function, the accelerometer is used to automatically change the orientation of the display image (vertical or horizontal). Also, the G-sensor is used as a pedometer, it can be controlled by various functions of the device by turning or shaking.
Gyroscope - a sensor that measures the angles of rotation relative to a fixed coordinate system. Able to measure angles of rotation in several planes at the same time. The gyroscope together with the accelerometer allows you to accurately determine the position of the device in space. In devices that use only accelerometers, the measurement accuracy is lower, especially when moving quickly. Also, the capabilities of the gyroscope can be used in modern games for mobile devices.
Light sensor - a sensor, thanks to which the optimal values of brightness and contrast are established for a given light level. The presence of the sensor allows to increase the operating time of the device from the battery
Proximity sensor - a sensor that detects when the device is close to the face during a call, turns off the backlight and locks the screen, preventing accidental presses. The presence of the sensor allows to increase the operating time of the device from the battery
Geomagnetic sensor - a sensor for determining the side of the world to which the device is directed. Tracks the orientation of the device in space relative to the earth's magnetic poles. The information received from the sensor is used in cartographic programs for orientation on the ground.
Atmospheric pressure sensor - sensor for accurate measurement of atmospheric pressure. It is part of the GPS system that allows you to determine the height above sea level and speed up the location.
Touch ID - fingerprint identification sensor.

Satellite navigation:

GPS (Global Positioning System) is a satellite navigation system that measures distance, time, speed and determines the location of objects anywhere on Earth. The system is designed, implemented and operated by the US Department of Defense. The main principle of using the system is to determine the location by measuring the distance to the object from points with known coordinates - satellites. The distance is calculated by the time delay of the signal propagation from its sending by the satellite to being received by the GPS receiver antenna.
GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) - Soviet and Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. The measuring principle is similar to the American GPS navigation system. GLONASS is intended for operational navigation and time support of land, sea, air and space-based users. The main difference from the GPS system is that the GLONASS satellites in their orbital motion do not have resonance (synchronization) with the Earth's rotation, which provides them with greater stability.

According to its characteristics, an unremarkable smartphone, if not for one thing: the ZTE Blade X3 has a powerful 4,000 mAh battery. The 4-core MediaTek MT6735P processor with a low frequency of 1 GHz cores will have a positive effect on low energy consumption.

Despite the fact that the smartphone has a high-capacity battery, its thickness is kept within reasonable limits: 8.9 mm.

The Russian model X3 is called ZTE T620, which is indicated in the firmware. In China, the device is known under the name, and there is also an international model ZTE Blade A452. It appeared in Russia much later than China, adding to the new X-series of ZTE smartphones. The first in this series was, which also has other names abroad.

In general, the characteristics of the ZTE Blade X3 smartphone are not bad: a screen with an IPS matrix with HD resolution, 1 gigabyte of RAM, support for 4G networks. An excellent choice for those who use the Internet every day, watch videos and download large files. The screen will provide a fairly high-quality picture with rich colors and good detail. But for games, this is not the best choice. Yes, the smartphone will work for a long time without additional charging, but the processor used for lower power consumption will not handle the most demanding games.

Front camera: 5 MP.

The SIM card slots hold two micro-SIM cards. The memory card is supported up to 32 GB.

ZTE Blade X3 White - I can not decide

Potential buyer opinion
Advantages:
Well, judging by the characteristics, the phone's qualities are not bad, one might even say "standard". Camera, battery size, screen, white color (!), Operating system, support for 2 SIM cards, all this goes well.
Disadvantages:
But I can't decide which smartphone to choose - to look for this one or still a bigger screen with the same parameters for the rest.

ZTE Blade X3 White - Not a bad smartphone!

4 Andrew 06-11-2015

Review by device owner: ZTE Blade X3 White
Advantages:
Nice build. High-quality HD screen -320dpi. Powerful battery. Holds charge well. LTE support (speed somewhere around 30 ~ 45 Mbit / s for MTS). Well-developed software. In work, it practically does not slow down, the Internet flies. You can remove some of the preinstalled applications. The launcher changes without any problems (in my opinion, the best one for it is "Hola") The main speaker is loud enough. The sound in the headphones is very high quality, in addition, there are sound enhancers in the settings. The radio in the area of reliable reception produces excellent stereo sound without wheezing and hissing. Tenacious WI-FI. Fast GPS. The main camera is average, but takes good pictures in semi-darkness, with a flash, Antutu ~ 20,000 points. Lightweight (for such a battery). The headset is detected without problems.
Disadvantages:
3G / 4G (LTE) mode works only on SIM1! SIM2 is for calls, and you won't be able to switch it in the system! And this is very sad ... "Eats" a lot of RAM (out of 920 MB, at best 350 MB are available). Little built-in memory, after installing 8 small programs only 2Gb remained. The earpiece speaker is somewhat quiet. The problem with the automatic white balance of the main camera (photos and videos “fade” a little). Native charging at 1500 mA / h charges the smartphone for 4 hours !!! There is no “foolproof” protection: due to the fact that the battery is built-in, there is a risk, when replacing SIM cards or flash drives and accidentally turning off the device, burn the board. With covers - a complete ambush! We'll have to pick up a universal one or buy a "Chinese".
