Why hamachi won't connect to the network. How to completely remove hamachi from your computer. Update problem

Instructions

First of all click the "Start" button, then "Control Panel". Find the "Network Connections" shortcut and launch it. If you have enabled display by category, the shortcut will be in the "Network and to the Internet" section. Find the one you want in the list of connections.

There are several limitations when deleting network connections. If your network connection is part of a network connection, then before deleting the network bridge itself (which you can then recreate if you need it). You should not delete virtual connections created by network programs yourself (for example, virtual private network adapters created by OpenVPN or Hamachi) - they are removed by means of these programs. It also makes no sense to delete the connections of network cards and IEEE-1394 (Fire-Wire) adapters - they will still be created by the operating system again at the next reboot. Some of the described connections simply cannot be deleted - the “delete” menu item is not available for them.

note

Be careful when deleting connections - although it does not threaten any system problems, but you can lose the settings that you will have to do again if you make a mistake and delete the connection you are using.

Removing a network adapter may be required if the adapter is physically absent or the system automatically assigns the same IP address to a hidden ghost adapter. The solution to the problem will require some changes in the Windows registry.

You will need

  • - DevCon

Instructions

Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "Run" item to enter the command line tool.

Enter cmd.exe in the Open field of the application window and press the Enter key to confirm your choice.

Enter the value set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1 in the command line field and press the softkey labeled Enter to confirm the command.

Enter the following value Start DEVMGMT.MSC in the command line field and confirm the execution of the selected command by pressing the Enter key.

Select Show Hidden Devices from the View menu of the Command Prompt window.

Open the list of devices (tree) "Network adapters" by clicking on the field with the "+" sign on the left side of the computer monitor.

Select "Uninstall". An alternative way to uninstall the network adapter is to use the DevCon command line interface program used to enable, disable, restart, update and remove individual devices or a group of devices. The program is available for download from the official Microsoft website.

Download the DevCon tool according to Microsoft instructions.

Unpack the 32-bit or 64-bit DevCon binary to a local folder.

The main problem with a home LAN is that the Internet channel is shared between all active devices. If you need to provide a higher access speed for a specific PC or laptop, then the network must be turned off.

Instructions

There are several options for disconnecting most computers from your home network. Many of these depend on how the network is created. If your home network is built using a network hub and one of the PCs acts as a server, then there are two options for turning it off. Just unplug the network cable that connects your computer to the hub. To do this, disconnect it either from the network device or from the PC card.

If access to both devices is very difficult, then use the software method to disconnect the network. Open Network and Sharing Center (Windows 7). Select the Change adapter settings menu. Right click on the icon of the local network you want to disable. Select Disable.

If for some reason you could not complete the shutdown procedure using the above method, open the properties of the "Computer" menu and go to the device manager. Find the required network adapter in the list of connected equipment. Right-click on it and select "Disable". Confirm to disconnect the device.

If your network is built using either a router, programmatically disable computers using the settings of the network equipment. Log into the web interface of the router settings. Find the Status or Network Status menu. Find a list of active ports or connected devices.

Now click the "Disable" button next to the port or device you want to disconnect from the network. Repeat this process to disconnect any redundant devices.

Use the mechanical disconnection of cables from the LAN ports of the router if you were unable to lock the equipment using the settings menu of the network device.

Nowadays, it is difficult to imagine a computer without a connection through any kind of network. You can divide them according to the type of network to which you are connecting. There are several network connections: dial-up connection, LAN connection, virtual private network (VPN) connection, direct connections, inbound connections.

You will need

  • An account with administrator rights.

Instructions

Disconnecting the computer from the network is a prerequisite before removing the network connection. Let's look at some of the ways to terminate the network connection.

Sequentially select the following items "Start" (Start), "Settings" (Settings), "Control Panel" (Control Panel), "Network Connections" (Network Connections). The Network Connections window displays all connections for this computer. Select the desired connection with the right mouse button and click Disable in the context menu that opens. After a while, this connection will become inactive.

If a local area connection icon is displayed in the notification area, right-click it. In the menu that opens, click "Disable". After a while, the current connection will become inactive.

The easiest and fastest way to disconnect your computer from the network is to disconnect the network cable from the connector on the network card. A "Network cable not connected" message appears and the computer is disconnected from the network.

After disconnecting the computer from the network, you can proceed to remove the network. Double-click the right mouse button to select the connection you just disconnected. This will open the properties window for this connection. It displays the name of the network card through which the connection was organized, the components used by this connection, a description of these components, and other information.

To remove the selected connection, in the connection properties window, click the "Uninstall" button. The selected LAN connection will be deleted.

note

A regular user can only delete network connections created by him. To remove a connection shared by multiple users, you must be a member of the Administrators or Network Configuration Operators group.

Hamachi is a popular program used to combine several different computers in any location into one single local network. If the program is configured incorrectly, the user cannot avoid problems in its operation. In particular, we will discuss below the situation where Hamachi reports a problem in the tunnel.

What is causing the problem?

As a rule, the presence of problems in the Hamahi tunnel is associated with two reasons: either the connection is inactive in Windows, or the program is incorrectly configured. Below we will analyze the ways that will allow you to work with the program.

Method 1: activate the network connection

First of all, you should suspect that the Hamachi network connection is simply disabled on the computer. And turning it on won't be a problem.

  • To do this, open "Control Panel" and proceed to the section.

  • In the left pane of the window, open a section.

  • A list of available networks will be displayed on the screen. If the "Hamachi" network is gray, right-click on it and choose "Enable".

  • Method 2: reinstalling the program

You can try to solve any problems with any program by simply reinstalling it.

  • First you need to remove Hamachi from your computer. To do this, open "Control Panel", proceed to section "Programs and Features", find Hamachi in the list of installed programs, right-click on it and select "Delete".

  • Finish uninstalling the program. After that, it is recommended to restart the computer.
  • Follow the link at the end of the article to the main site of the product manufacturer and download the latest distribution of the program. Perform a fresh installation of the program on your computer.
  • Method 3: configure Hamachi network parameters

  • To do this, open "Control Panel" and proceed to section "Network and Sharing Center".

  • In the left pane of the window, click on the button "Change adapter settings".

  • Right click on Hamachi and proceed to "Properties".

  • Highlight item "IP version 4", and then just below click on the button "Properties".

  • At the bottom of the new window, click on the button "Additionally".

  • In the block "Main gateways" select the gateway and then click on the button "Delete"... Below, uncheck the box next to the item "Automatic metric assignment" and set the value below "ten"... Save your changes.

  • Method 4: editing Hamachi parameters

  • Run the program. In the upper left corner, click on the button "System", and then select the item "Parameters".

  • In the left pane of the window, go to the tab "Parameters"and then click the button "Additional settings"... Set the following parameters:
    • Encryption - any;
    • Compression - Any;
    • Traffic filtering - allow everything;
    • Online presence - enable;
    • Use a proxy server - no.

  • Save changes and close the settings window. Now click on the power button to activate the program.
  • Method 5: adding Hamachi to the antivirus exclusion list

In more rare cases, the antivirus installed on the computer may mistake Hamachi and her activities for a virus threat.

To check this, you will need to disable the antivirus, and then resume the program. If the problem is gone, you will need to go to the antivirus settings and add the Hamachi program to the list of exclusions.

Hi, I ran into a situation - when LogMeIn Hamachi, which is installed on Windows 7, is connected to the network, computers on the network are not available, and a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark is drawn on them. I want to show you how you can fix this error.

If you go to the connection details of the node, then an error will be written against the VPN status parameter.

If you go to the parameters, an error is written in the status information in the VPN domain - Failed to connect to the network adapter. The peer is not accessible via VPN.

In my case, the problem was installing the Hamachi network driver. If you go to the device manager (computer properties - device manager), you can see an exclamation mark in the yellow triangle next to the Hamachi Network Interface driver. If you go to the properties of this driver, it will be written that the driver is not digitally signed.

Because of this, the system lacks the Hamachi network interface, and Hamachi cannot connect to computers on the network.
To fix this, you can go the difficult and simple way.

Hard - put the system into test mode and disable mandatory verification of the digital signature of drivers in group policies. But I did not do that, and I do not advise you.

    Simple - download Hamachi version 2.2.0.328 - Hamachi 2.2.0.328

After Hamachi 2.2.0.328 is downloaded, you need to uninstall the version that you have installed. And just put the version that was downloaded. In this version, everything is fine with the digital signature of the driver, and after installing it, everything worked for me.

After starting the program, you can update it from the program itself (help - check for updates), or you can download the latest version from the developers website. When you run the installer, the program will be updated. And there should be no problems with the driver and connection to computers.

By the way, on Windows 10 I installed the latest version of the program, it worked fine for me, but if suddenly you have the same problem that I wrote about above, then you can try to install version 2.2.0.328.

With it, I had a situation that the driver in the device manager is working fine, there are no exclamation marks, and there is no network interface in the Network and Sharing Center. A simple reinstallation of LogMeIn Hamachi helped, that is, this version needs to be installed 2 times. Then everything works fine.

Logmein Hamachi, like any other program, can be uninstalled through the standard Windows Add / Remove Programs tool or manually. You can also use third-party utilities to uninstall the software from your PC. Close Hamachi and follow the instructions.

    Method 1

If you want to remove Hamachi completely from your computer and are trying to do it for the first time, use the free CCleaner program. Download it from the official site, install and run. Find Hamachi in the Tools - Uninstall Programs tab.

Click on the "Uninstall" button (exactly on it, not on "Remove", this is important, do not mix it up!), The uninstaller window will open with a proposal to remove Logmein Hamachi. Check the box to delete user settings, as shown in the screenshot, and click the "Delete" button.

Wait until the end of the process, a reboot is usually not required after that.

    Method 2

If you cannot remove Hamachi, it is not removed from network connections, leaves behind a network adapter, services and a bunch of other "tails", you will have to remove it manually.

To begin with, uninstall the program, as far as possible, by standard means, then delete all folders with the name "Hamachi" (and also preferably with the name "Logmein" if you are sure that no more programs of this developer are installed on the computer) as follows addresses:

    C: \\ Program Files (x86) \\

    C: \\ Users \\ Your_User (Admin) \\ AppData \\ Local

    * directories are shown on the example of Windows 10 64 bit.

Then you need to remove the Hamachi network (more precisely, the network adapter) from the device manager.

    * when working with the registry, be very careful and do not delete anything unnecessary!

Attention! Before removing all Hamachi entries from the registry, you need to rename one folder in it, which belongs to the program installer and may interfere with the installation of a new version of Hamachi in the future. Do the following:

Open the branch in the registry editor (regedit):

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\ SOFTWARE \\ Classes \\ Installer \\ Products \\

There you will see several folders with long names consisting of numbers and letters. Select the first folder and move down to the next using the arrows on your keyboard while looking at ProductName.

You need to find the folder where the ProductName will say "Logmein Hamachi". Rename this folder by adding 2 Xs to the end of its name (for example).

Now you can start deleting the rest of the records. To do this, use the search by program name (CTRL + F).

Finally, remove the Logmein Hamachi Tunneling Engine service. To do this, start the service manager ("Win + R" - "services.msc"), find it and double-click on it with the left mouse button.

A window with the properties of the service will open, copy its system name from there and click on the "Stop" button.

Then run Command Prompt ("Win + R" - "cmd")

and enter the sc delete Hamachi2Svc command

    * Hamachi2Svc is the service name you copied and can be pasted into a command prompt window so you don't have to type it manually.

After removing the service, restart your computer.

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> hamachi

Click on the folder to be removed from the computer with the right mouse button. And then click "Delete" in the context menu.

Method number 3: software tool from Microsoft

    1. Open the page in the browser - support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall (Microsoft support site).

    How to completely remove Hamachi

It often happens that simply deleting a folder or connection does not completely remove Hamachi. In this case, when trying to install a newer version, an error may appear stating that the old version has not been removed, and other problems with existing data and connections are also likely.

This article will present several effective methods to help you completely remove Hamachi, whether the program wants it or not.

    Uninstalling Hamachi with Basic Tools

    1. Click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner ("Start") and find the "Add or Remove Programs" utility by entering text.

    2. Find and select the "LogMeIn Hamachi" application, then click "Delete" and follow the further instructions.

    Manual removal

It so happens that the uninstaller does not start, errors appear, and sometimes the program is not at all in the list. In this case, you will have to do everything yourself.

    1. Close the program by right-clicking on the icon at the bottom right and selecting "Exit". 2. Disable the Hamachi network connection ("Network and Sharing Center - Change adapter settings").

    3. Delete the LogMeIn Hamachi program folder from the installation directory (by default it is ... Program Files (x86) / LogMeIn Hamachi). To make sure exactly where the program is located, you can right-click on the shortcut and select "File Location".

Check if there are any folders associated with LogMeIn services at the addresses:

    • C: / Users / Your Username / AppData / Local
    • C: / ProgramData

    If so, delete them.

    On Windows 7 and 8 systems, there may be another folder with the same name at:… / Windows / System32 / config / systemprofile / AppData / LocalLow or… Windows / system32 / config / systemprofile / localsettings / AppData / LocalLow

    (administrator rights required)

    4. Remove the Hamachi network device. To do this, go to the "Device Manager" (through the "Control Panel" or by searching in "Start"), find the network adapter, right-click and click "Delete".

    5. We delete the keys in the system registry. We press the keys "Win + R", enter "regedit" and click "OK".

    6. Now on the left we look for and delete the following folders:

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / LogMeIn Hamachi
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet / Services / hamachi
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet / Services / Hamachi2Svc

For each of the three mentioned folders, right-click and press "Delete". The jokes are bad with the registry, be careful not to delete unnecessary things.

    7. Stop the Hamachi tunneling service. Press the "Win + R" keys and enter "services.msc" (without quotes).

In the list of services, we find "Logmein Hamachi Tunneling Engine", left-click and click stop.

Important: the service name will be highlighted at the top, copy it, it will come in handy for the next, last item.

    8. Now we delete the stopped process. Press "Win + R" again on the keyboard, but now enter "cmd.exe".

Enter the command: sc delete Hamachi2Svc

Where Hamachi2Svc is the name of the service copied in paragraph 7.

Reboot your computer. That's it, now there are no traces of the program! Residual data will no longer cause errors.

    Using third-party programs

If it was not possible to completely remove Hamachi either by the basic method or manually, then you can use additional programs.

    1. For example, CCleaner will do. In the "Tools" section, find "Uninstall Programs", select "LogMeIn Hamachi" from the list and click "Uninstall". Do not mix it up, do not accidentally click "Delete", otherwise the program shortcuts will simply be removed, and you will have to resort to manual removal.

    2. The standard Windows uninstaller is also better to fix and still try to uninstall through it, officially, so to speak. To do this, download the diagnostic utility from the Microsoft website. Further, we indicate the problem with the deletion, select the ill-fated "LogMeIn Hamachi", agree to the attempt to delete and hope for the final status "Fixed".

You have learned about all the ways to completely remove the program, simple and not so. If you are still experiencing problems when reinstalling, then some files or data were still missing, check everything again. The situation may also be related to breakdowns in the Windows system, perhaps it is worth using one of the maintenance utilities - Tuneup Utilities, for example.

We are glad that we were able to help you solve the problem.

    1. Go to "Control Panel" - "Network and Internet" - "Network and Sharing Center".

    2. In the left part of the window, select from the list "Change adapter settings".

    3. Click the tab "Additionally" and go to "Extra options".

If you don't have a tab "Additionally", go to "Arrange" - "View" and click on "Menu bar".

    4. We are interested "Adapters and Bindings"... At the top of the window, we see a list of network connections, among them there is Hamachi. Move it to the beginning of the list using special arrows and click "OK".

    5. Let's restart the program.

As a rule, at this stage the problem disappears for most users. Otherwise, go to the next method.

    Update problem

    1. Hamachi has an automatic update mode. Very often, connection problems arise due to incorrect settings in this part of the program. In order to fix, we find in the main window the tab "System" - "Parameters".

    2. In the window that opens, on its left side, also go to "Options" - "Additional settings".

    3. And then in "Basic settings".

    4. Here you need to check the box opposite "Automatic Updates"... Restart your computer. Make sure the internet is connected and working. Once launched, Hamachi must detect and install updates by itself.

    5. If the checkbox is present, and the new version has not been downloaded, go to the tab in the main window "Help" - "Check for Updates"... If updates are available, update manually.

If this does not help, then most likely the problem is in the program itself. In this case, it makes sense to remove it and download the latest version from the official website.

    6. Please note that standard deletion through "Control Panel" not enough. Such uninstallation leaves behind various "tails" that can interfere with the installation and use of the newly installed Hamachi. You must use third-party software to completely remove programs, such as Revo Uninstaller.

    7. Let's open it and select our program, then click "Delete".

    8. First, the standard uninstallation wizard will start, after which the program will offer to scan for the remaining files in the system. The user needs to select the mode, in this case it is "Moderate", and press "Scan"

After that, Hamachi will be completely removed from the computer. Now you can start installing the current version.

Often, after the actions taken, the connection is made without problems, and no longer bothers the user. If "things are still there", you can write a letter to the support service or reinstall the operating system.
