Command undo last action. How to undo the last action on the computer? Operating system recovery

Almost every user has come across such a situation, when certain actions performed on the computer, instead of the expected result, are harmful, and I want to understand how to cancel last act  on the computer. For example, it may be downloading various programs that were infected with viruses or anything else.

Microsoft realized long ago that the main enemy of the computer and operating system  is far from some kind of hacker or some other intruder, but the user himself, because it is through their actions that people most often bring their devices to malfunction. That is why the function was introduced to undo the last action on the computer, and it is called "Restore the operating system."

What is it?

Restoring an operating system is a function that allows you to roll back a computer on a specific date when its characteristics and data were saved. It should be noted that this data can be saved either automatically or manually by the user, depending on how this function was configured.

Advantage of this method  is that it allows you to completely remove all negative actions that you performed on your computer for a certain time. But, considering how to undo the last action on a computer, it is often not possible to use it, because it cancels at the same time several actions performed on a computer, regardless of whether they carried harm in themselves.

Automatically and manually

As mentioned above, the system can be saved either manually by the user or automatically. In professional circles, this is called “saving backup”, and it must be done, as it is impossible to undo the last action on a computer without it.

To set this up in Windows 7, you need to go the path: "Control Panel"\u003e "Restore"\u003e "Restore Files"\u003e "Configure backup". Here you will need to select the main parameters and start archiving. In particular, you can choose whether to save only certain folders or provide a choice of folders to the operating system in order to first of all save the most important information.

What to choose?

The advantage of automatic copying is convenience, but you need to allocate a large amount of free space on your hard disk, and it is often not suitable, since you can still cancel all actions on your computer for the last day, but in a month or a week it is more difficult.

That is why it is recommended to archive manually. In particular, this is especially recommended by experts for Windows 8, since it is necessary to undo recent actions on windows computer  8 is required mostly more frequently. To set it up in this system, you will need to go to the “Backup and Restore” section through the “Control Panel”, then select “Create a system image” and follow all the wizard instructions.

Data recovery is also important.

It is worth noting that, among other things, is highly recommended if you store any important information on your computer. Thus, if any malfunction occurs during the operation of your equipment, and you lose all the data stored on the hard drive, backup copy  allows you to quickly recover any files you need in just a few minutes without the involvement of experts from the outside, which will save you not only nerves and time, but also money.

This article describes three operations that will help you undo erroneous actions and improve editing efficiency.

Cancel action

You can cancel almost all commands executed in Excel using the command Cancellocated on the panel quick access. The quick access toolbar is usually displayed to the left of the Excel title bar. You can also click Ctrl + Z  to cancel the action.

Select Cancel, after you have executed a command by mistake, and this command will be canceled, as if you had never executed it at all. You can undo the result of the last 100 commands executed by pressing the button Cancel  many times.

However, some actions you can not undo. All commands executed using the button FileFor example, saving a book cannot be undone. If you press the button on the arrow to the right of the button Cancel, you will see a list of the last commands that can be canceled (Fig. 6.1). You can select a set of such commands at once to cancel several actions with one click. Pa figure highlighted seven actions.

Keep in mind that you cannot undo the effect of running a macro. In fact, launching a macro that modifies the sheet erases all information regarding undoing actions. There is no tangible lack of Excel in Microsoft Word.

Return action

The Check In button (located to the right of the Cancel button on the Quick Access Toolbar) essentially cancels the Cancel command. If you have canceled too many actions, you can click the Check In button (or click Ctrl + Y  or F4) to return commands that have been canceled.

Repeat action

You can repeat many operations by pressing Ctrl + Y  or F4. This command simply repeats the last action. However, if the last operation was the Undo operation, then the result of its action is canceled (as described in the previous section).

Repetition of commands can be useful in terms of saving time. I will give an example. You could apply a variety of formatting options (set the font size, bold, background color, and frame) for a cell using the Cell Format dialog box. After closing the dialog box, you can easily set the same formatting settings for other cells or ranges by pressing Ctrl + Y. Or we may need to insert blank lines in certain places of the sheet. To do this, run the command Home → Cells → Insert → Paste the lines onto the sheet once, then place the cursor in the cell where you want to insert the next line, and click Ctrl + Yto repeat the insert row command.

Excel also has a button Repeatbut usually it is not available. Despite this, add it to the quick access toolbar.

  1. Click right click  mouse on the shortcut bar and in the appeared context menu  select Customize Quick Access Toolbar. As a result, a dialog box opens. Excel options  on the tab Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Drop-down list Select teams  from select item Frequently used commands.
  3. In the list of commands, select Repeat.
  4. Press the button To addto add the selected command to the quick access toolbar.
  5. Click OKto close the dialog box Excel options.

You may ask why add a button at all. Repeat  na shortcut bar, if you can use the shortcut Ctrl + Y. First, when you hover the mouse pointer over this button, Excel will display a description of the operation to be repeated (Fig. 6.2). Second, the button Repeat becomes inactive if you cannot repeat the last command. - a kind of visual signal that will help avoid unnecessary attempts to repeat something that simply cannot be repeated.

Unfortunately, the function of repeating the operation is not always reliable. In some cases, you may find that pressing Ctrl + Y  It has no effect (although it should). In other situations, pressing Ctrl + Y  can repeat the command you performed before the previous command.

It often happens that users, through carelessness, make changes in the document that must be brought back. AT word processor  Microsoft Word has the ability to cancel the action and repeat the last action. The first command is designed to undo the last actions of the user, and the second is to undo the actions again, without performing these actions. Unclear? Then let's deal with these extremely important functions  on a simple example.

Working with a document in a Microsoft Word word processor is like scrolling a movie - every user action, whether inserting an image, typing a character, or deleting it, is like a movie frame. And frames these program Microsoft Word records. At any time, the user can go back a certain number of frames, and then return to the last completed frame.

In Microsoft Word, there are two options for working with the undo and redo functions of a user:

  • the first  - using keyboard shortcuts. To undo the last user action, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Z, and to redo already completed and undone actions - the combination Ctrl + Y;
  • second  - the use of specially designed for this purpose buttons on the quick access toolbar, which are located in the upper left part of the main working window of Microsoft Word. In this case, to cancel the last user action, click the button, and to redo already completed and previously canceled actions, click the button.

Textbook Microsoft Word processor offers users a huge functionality for working with documents of any size and complexity. Mastering the techniques described in this article will help to work with documents several times more efficiently, without being distracted by formatting, and this is a guarantee of user concentration on the content. Below are a few basic tips that you need to use when navigating a document.

  • Use different document display modes to solve different tasks. In each of the modes, unnecessary interface elements were specially removed and emphasis was placed on those elements that help solve specific tasks for each type.
  • Use hotkeys. Having learned to operate with keyboard shortcuts, you will be able to significantly speed up your work with a word processor.
  • Copy and cut the contents of the document to move and duplicate the contents in different places of the document. If parts of the document are similar, it is easier to create a copy and change a small part, rather than rewriting everything anew.
  • Use the clipboard to work with several snippets of the document contents at once. Even if you change the location of two passages of the document, the clipboard will reduce the number of operations.
  • Use the Navigation panel to view and edit the structure of a future document. Unique feature new version  Microsoft Word allows you to edit the structure of a document with a simple mouse click.
  • Use the Navigation search panel to search for simple expressions and the Find and Replace dialog box for complex cases.
