World of tanks graphics problem. The correct settings for World of Tanks are the key to efficiency! What to disable even on powerful systems

In the last article we talked about which one is needed and this is the primary condition for a comfortable game. But no less important is the correct setting of the game parameters.

Correct settings are the key to a comfortable game! We will now take a quick look at all the game settings and pay special attention to the graphics settings.

1. General settings

The "Game" tab contains general settings.

In the "Chat" section, you can enable message censorship so that asterisks are displayed instead of swear words (recommended for children). Here you can also disable spam, platoon invitations, friend requests and messages from those who are not in your contact list (friends). Personally, these messages got me, I turned off chat altogether and enjoy the game

In the section "Types of random battles" you can disable "Encounter battle" and "Assault". These modes use the same maps as in random battles, but the location of the bases and the victory conditions have been changed. In the "Encounter Battle" mode, there is one common base and the team that captures it or destroys all opponents wins. In the "Assault" mode, one team defends the base, the other defends. To win, the "Defenders" must not be allowed to capture the base and at least one team member must survive. To win, the "Striker" needs to capture the base or destroy all opponents at any cost. Personally, I don't like these types of fights, but you can try them for a change, suddenly they will suit your taste.

In the "Combat interface" section, you can turn off the optics effect (green background in the sight) so that it does not spoil the picture, turn off the display of the vehicle that destroyed you (if it makes you nervous).

Be sure to check the boxes "Enable dynamic camera" and "Horizontal stabilization in the sniper scope" otherwise it is simply impossible to shoot on the move, the sight dangles in all directions!

I uncheck "Show vehicle markers on the scoreboard" and "Show combat effectiveness ribbons", since I don't see any point in them, they only distract.

As for the minimap options (camera direction beam, SPG firing sector and additional features), I disable them, because I am using a minimap mod with advanced features, which I will tell you about in the next article. This is important, if you, like me, will use the minimap mod, then disable these parameters so that they are not duplicated, thereby reducing performance.

When the "Record battles" option is enabled, small files (replays) will be recorded to the "replays" folder, which is located in the game folder, which can then be viewed. This almost does not affect the performance of the game and you can easily share them with your friends or upload them to the site "wotreplays.ru" so that other users can watch you bend over. But these are not video files, they can only be played by the game itself and stop working after release next patch. Therefore, if you want to upload a video to YouTube or save the history of your victories for posterity, do not forget to digitize the best replays after hard battles using some kind of screen recording software (ShadowPlay, Bandicam, Fraps).

Well, by checking the last checkbox "Display distinctive marks" you can measure the barrels with the players in the game. Stars or notches (from 1 to 3) received in battles for great service to the homeland will be displayed on the barrel of your tank

As soon as you switch to the "Graphics" tab, the screen settings are displayed.

If you have just installed the game and it is still displayed in the window, and not in full screen, then check the "Full screen" checkbox and click the "Apply" button. Only after that you need to select "Screen Resolution". If you have a liquid crystal (flat, TFT) monitor, then choose the maximum resolution, and leave the frame rate at 60. If you still have a fucking CRT monitor on your desk, then a resolution of 1280x1024 with a frequency of 85 Hz ( or 75 Hz). Click "Apply" and if everything is displayed normally (not stretched and does not flicker), then this is good. If you cannot find the resolution you need or the image is stretched, then try changing the "Aspect ratio".

In the Graphics Quality box, you can manually select Low, Medium, High, or Maximum quality. This will install the appropriate set of settings, which we will talk about further. If you are not playing on a calculator (a very weak laptop), then make sure the "3D rendering resolution" slider is set to 100% and uncheck the "Dynamic change" checkbox otherwise the picture in the game will be blurry.

It is best not to enable the Vertical Sync option as it has a negative impact on performance. This is only required in the event of noticeable "frame breaks" and is applicable on powerful gaming PCs. The "Triple buffering" option is needed to improve the performance of the video card when "Vertical Sync" is enabled, but it affects the performance of the processor that performs this buffering.

The Smoothing option improves the picture, it becomes softer and more natural, but it puts a lot of stress on the video card and is designed for powerful gaming PCs. In this field, you can select various anti-aliasing modes from lighter (FXAA) to rather heavy (TSSAA-HQ).

Angle of View (FoV) sets the position of the camera in relation to your tank. That is, the angle at which you will look at it. The default is 95 degrees and Dynamic FoV is disabled. No one really complains about these settings, so you can leave everything as it is. If you want to experiment, then you now know how everything was, then to put it back in place.

The "Gamma" parameter adjusts the brightness, but do not touch it in vain, it is better to reset the parameters of your monitor to default, as the game is well calibrated.

"Color Filter" is an option for gourmets that imposes a different background in the game, similar to the type of effects in cameras. I tried it, glamorous but useless ...

Well, the "Color Blind Mode" is intended for people with vision problems.

On the same "Graphics" tab, if you click on the "Advanced" button, the graphics quality settings will be displayed.

At the very top, there are the already familiar "Recommended" button for automatic selection of the optimal parameters, the "Graphics quality" field for setting a set of settings from low to maximum, the "3D rendering resolution" slider, which should be 100% and the "Dynamic change" checkbox , in which there should be no check mark.

The higher the quality of the graphics, the lower the frames per second (FPS). It is believed that a person sees 24 frames per second and for a smooth picture, it is desirable that the game produces at least 30 FPS. But from my own experience, I can say that normal dynamics in the game starts at 60 FPS.

What is the difference between low dynamics and high dynamics? With low dynamics, your tank drives like a Zhiguli (just stupid), although it can be like a BMW. I have felt this more than once and you will feel it if you follow my advice! Extras (majors) have powerful computers that, even with high graphics settings, produce a decent FPS (100 or more). Therefore, they feel the dynamics in the game much better, the machine reacts subtly to all the fibers of the soul and they play more efficiently. And on a fast CT or LT without dynamics it is generally sad ... I'm not talking about the supercomputers that are used in e-sports. This is what they are for - for dynamics.

The network game is not a single shooter and it is important to defeat a live opponent, and not to sluggish participation in a meat grinder with bots Then the game gives such a desired moral satisfaction after hard working days, and not frustration and a bottle of vodka Convinced, no? Then read on

I have a mid-range gaming PC and pulls the game at maximum graphics settings, giving out 40 FPS. At high settings, it produces an average of 60 FPS. In the settings window that I gave above, you can select the type of graphics "Standard" or "Enhanced". So, in spite of the fact that the hardware allows, I have long preferred to play on standard graphics, without unnecessary buns.

Just like that, simple and angry, yes. But what a pleasure the game brings when you rush in bachata (or at least write a four) at a speed of 100-150 FPS! And in the eye there is not a speck of dust, no clouds of smoke and billowing earth from a T92 shell that fell nearby, or a terrible grass drawn schoolchildren for ice cream highly paid designers, no fog preventing the T95 hatch from being aimed from 500 meters, no other nasty graphic innovations that turn BMW into a Zhiguli and interfere with effective play.

Many computers pull standard graphics much better, the FPS is many times higher and nothing prevents you from manually setting the available sliders to high parameters, at which the picture turns out to be quite accurate, clean and dynamic!

I also recommend disabling the grass and effects in sniper mode (they really interfere), the transparency of the foliage (makes the game even cleaner and faster), traces and effects from under the tracks (you never look at them at all). "The quality of add. it is better not to set effects "above average or disable them altogether, since they also interfere (for example, when a shell bursts from an art nearby). It is better to uncheck the “Dynamic change in the quality of effects” checkbox, there is no need for the graphics to float in the game.

In addition to the high dynamics and clarity of the picture, you will receive some pleasant bonuses that you will notice during the game (for example, thanks to the transparency of the water, you can clearly see the bottom relief and where you can drive over it). Try it, ride it for a while and you will notice that you have become more efficient. The main thing is not to rush forward on the FPS wings

I don't promise anything, because I don't eat ties and caps. But if you still don't like the standard graphics, just change the settings. In the screenshot below, the Enhanced Graphics settings provide the optimal quality / performance ratio for a medium-powered PC.

You can download a detailed description of the improved graphics settings, how they affect the image quality, what load the video card and processor are, you can in the section "".

And also, if a game restart is required to apply the settings, a corresponding message will appear. In any case, I recommend reloading the game for major changes to the graphics settings.

When we get to the mods, there are still interesting opportunities to make the picture cleaner, and the sight more stable

If, despite all the settings, your computer is sorely lacking in performance, think about installing a new level of GTX 1050 Ti or 1060.

MSI GTX 1050 Ti Graphics Card

Here is a screenshot of the settings under the Sound tab.

Everything seems to be clear here, so I will add only a little personal experience.

I turn off the music immediately, it interferes with the game no less than the improved graphics

If you do not use a microphone in team fights, then disable voice communication by unchecking the only checkbox. Turn it on if needed. Communication works on the principle of a walkie-talkie - you pressed the microphone activation button (Q), said, let go and listen to others. Anyone who holds the button for a long time clogs up the air with noises from his microphone (computer, apartment).

Headphones A4Tech Bloody G430

The microphone must be connected before starting the game. If the microphone is not turned on all the time, then after connecting it it is better to restart the computer, otherwise it may not work or work poorly. First check through the testing service in Skype that the microphone is working properly, you can be heard well and there is no strong background. If necessary, increase (or decrease) the microphone sensitivity in the system settings (in Windows 7: Control Panel \\ Hardware and Sound \\ Manage Sound Devices \\ Recording).

Then launch the game, turn on voice communication and select your microphone in the corresponding field. The "Player Voice Volume" setting affects how you hear others. The default "microphone sensitivity" should be sufficient, at a level starting from 70 your voice can start to repeat and cause discomfort to other players, do not overdo it with this parameter and ask your comrades not "How can you hear me?", But "Is it too loud ? ". I usually reduce the "general volume level of the environment during a call" to 50, this mutes all the sounds of the game at the moment when a comrade calls you and you do not have to ask him again.

And the last, but not the newest feature is the national voice acting. I usually leave the standard one, because who knows what his mother knows that the crew of a Chinese tank is babbling there. But it's worth a try, the thing is overbearing

And also, there is some other button "Start test", which I just noticed. Try it, tell us later in the comments

In the mods, we will also install the sound on the light bulb, this is the song!

It's even easier with the settings on the Control tab.

But I will still give a few tips. I recommend lowering the sensitivity of the sniper scope and increasing the sensitivity of the artillery sight. Expose something like mine in the screenshot. This will give you higher aiming accuracy when you are in a tank, since with high sensitivity, especially at medium and long range, it is difficult to target opponents, the sight moves too fast. And when you are at art, on the contrary, you are tortured to drag the sight back and forth all over the map with low sensitivity, and the rug is erased ...

Mouse A4Tech XL-740K

Do not even think to include any inversion, only plums will go

And one more good advice. If you have a mouse with additional buttons, then one of them can be assigned to a specific cell of consumables. In cells 1-3, the types of shells are switched and it is unnecessary to touch them. But in cells 4-6 there can be manually activated consumables. For example, I install a fire extinguisher in the first cell, which corresponds to the 4 key on the keyboard. Instead of key 4, I have long ago assigned a side button on the mouse in the game settings. This allows you to quickly extinguish a fire in the event of a fire, and not look for the desired button on the keyboard until the ammunition detonates. In addition, if there is an increased risk of fire, for example, an AMX 1390 drove into your stern and is glad that it got to a soft one, it will not hurt to swing at this time side mouse button for prevention! Works as an automatic fire extinguisher and costs 7 times less

In the next article on mods, I will tell you how to assign multiple keys to one action and shoot more accurately! And, if you mess with the control settings, then there is a button "By default"

Go to the "Sight" tab.

Well, there is nothing to say at all. You can adjust the size and shape of the scope, which I once tried. But the default settings are close to optimal, unless the size is larger. Yes, and still there somewhere a sight with indication is selected. You point at the VLD (upper frontal part) of the enemy - it turns red, you point at the NLD (you guess yourself) - green. In general, it makes it clear whether your projectile can penetrate armor in this place. Red - no, green - yes.

But do not bother with this, as in the article on mods we will install a more convenient sight with the correct indication, taking into account the angle of entry of the projectile!

Well, I just have to say that on this tab there are two more pads (a pun turned out) for setting up a separate arcade (from 3rd person) and sniper scope (in optics).

Here you can customize the various icons above the tanks.

I somehow made the optimal settings for myself and they were saved, since now most of the settings (except for graphics and sound, in my opinion) are stored on the server and pulled from it again, even in the case of a complete reinstallation of the game.

There are also pads for customizing markers for allies, opponents and destroyed vehicles. For my allies, they are the same there, but for the destroyed only a model of equipment for a reference point, the rest is disabled so as not to interfere on the screen.

I'm honestly telling you everything, but I still hope that you install the correct mods and you don't have to manually configure anything here.

8. Removing unnecessary files

And finally, some more useful information. You can dramatically reduce the amount of disk space a game takes by deleting all files in the Updates folder.

This folder contains temporary files that are downloaded during game updates. The developers themselves have confirmed that these files are absolutely unnecessary and can be removed painlessly. This is especially true for SSD drives that are small. For me, for example, this folder took 13.4 GB! For which she was sentenced to destruction without the right to restore

HDD A-Data Ultimate SU650 120GB

9. Conclusion

Summing up, I want to say the following. If you want to win, score on special effects and customize the game! After all, defeats do not bring any pleasure, but only irritate and leave a feeling of dissatisfaction!

Does World of Tanks slow down? Or do you have a weak computer? Or did you log into the game after another update and WoT began to slow down terribly? If all this is familiar to you, but this course of events does not suit you, then we read this article to the end, delving into every line of the text. And if everything is done correctly, then you will part with the game's brakes forever ...

So let's start:

Why World of Tanks slows down:

First, let's check out something as trivial as system requirements. I know, I know, now start:

So, minimum system requirements for playing in world of tanks:

Operating system: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10.
256 kbps.
Processor (CPU): and here is the most interesting thing, in 2014 this figure was 2.2 GHz, in 2015 added to the numbers: "Supporting SSE2 technology", and in 2016 removed the numbers 2.2 GHz, but written in words "With two or more physical cores" (but as far as I know, 2 cores began to be released as soon as the proc frequency exceeded the threshold of 2.6 GHz, so we draw conclusions)
Random access memory (RAM): 1.5 GB for Windows XP, 2 GB for Windows Vista, Windows 7/8/10.
Video adapter: GeForce 6800 / ATI HD X2400 XT with 256 MB of memory, DirectX 9.0c.
Audio: DirectX 9.0c compatible.
about 27 GB.

The minimum requirements, therefore, are minimal, because you will start the game, but it will be difficult to play comfortably, believe me. So removing the "brakes" and "freezing" of the client is unlikely to work. Here you can't do without upgrading your hardware ... The parts recommended for replacement are of course a processor, video card and RAM ...

Operating system: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 - 64-bit.
Internet connection speed: 1024 kbps or higher (for voice chat).
Processor (CPU): Intel Core i5-3330 (for those who do not know: 4 cores at 3 GHz - not sickly).
Random access memory (RAM): 4 GB (or more).
Video adapter: GeForce GTX660 (2GB) / Radeon HD 7850 2GB, DirectX 9.0c.
Audio card: DirectX 9.0c compatible.
Free space on hard disk: ~ 36 GB.

The recommended requirements are certainly not exorbitant, but for old computers it is, as they say, "how to walk to China" and if you are reading this article, then you have something in between these two characteristics. As usual, either the video is weak, or the RAM is not enough, or the percentages were inherited from someone else's hardware

Slows down World of Tanks! Well, what can you do here?

If you have lags and brakes due to the processor and even more so if this very processor is single-core, you can't do anything about it, will have to change, well, he does not "export" the game now, although in 2014 it was still possible to play on this ... alas

By the way, I wrote about how to choose a good computer in the article, I recommend reading it.

Next comes random access memory (RAM)... What can you do with it? Physically, of course, nothing. But you can, after all, delete unnecessary garbage, all the programs that are loaded in your tray (who does not know, tray is where the clock is in Windows, usually the lower right corner). That is why you have all sorts of managers (viber, mail, icq, skype, etc.) there when playing - close! Torrent ?! Definitely OFF! Not only does he "eat" the operative, but he also clogs up the Internet channel. Then the browser, brrrr ... Look in the manager how much goog chrome is "eating". You will be horrified! Close! The rest of the browsers (because they also consume a lot), also close! I would even close the antivirus for the duration of the game (by the way, NOD32 has a game mode that frees up a certain share of the operative for games), and it will not be possible to completely disable any antivirus so simply.

Special aesthetes use programs like Wise Memory Optimizer, which clean out memory from unused data (I personally would not recommend using such, because I myself caught the "blue screen of death" on a test computer with WinXR installed).
It is better, of course, to buy RAM up to a decent 4 GB, especially if you have an old computer then the RAM for it (DDR, DDR2) will cost mere pennies, and the comfort from it will be felt for a very, very long time. On the test machine I played on a dual-channel RAMe (DDR2) of 4 GB (2x2GB) and everything was great!

Next in line we have graphics card.

If there is not enough video memory, then we try to delete the excess using the program Wot tweaker downloading it for the current version of the game client on the Internet. In the tweaker, you can delete such extras. effects that cannot be disabled from the game client, such as dirt flying out from under the tracks, optical effects from a burning tank, etc. But it's worth it, take my word for it!

If the fps in the game shows too little 5-10, then you can try starting the client in "safe mode":

this will disable all installed mods and you can safely say that fps is sagging due to mods. For example, I have seen fps drawdown from the mod. I will post a video clip about more detailed graphics settings at the end of the article. Read on ...

It happens to someone that the computer hardware is far from weak, and up to the latest versions, and in the tray it does not hang out anything superfluous (like a torrent), but it slows down worl of tanks anyway. Then the point is most likely in the Internet provider. Pay attention to the ping in the game, if it exceeds 50 ms, then something is wrong, either the provider is to blame, or you are running some program that requires an Internet connection, or a virus, such as a Trojan, is in your computer, which constantly sends packages on your internet channel.

A word about 3G modems

About 3G modems (4G modems) I don't want to talk here. A whole article has been written about this:. In it, I explained why when playing via a USB modem everything is so bad and which server of the WoT game do not connect to, the ping is still huge, sometimes up to 300 ms. It remains only to pity those people who, apart from 3G, do not have any i-net, and there are many of them. And to say that their world of tanks slows down is not to say anything ...

Well, and probably the last reason is actually in the operating system itself. As programmers say “windows must die” ... And they say it for a reason. During the operation of Windows, any slag is collected in the system registry, ranging from old records about long-deleted programs and games and ending with new records from some satellite mail, Yandex browser and, God forbid, from some virus that alone can create up to a million false registry entries in order to load the percent to full.

So, over time, all this loads the work of the operating system itself, then how not really for a long time programs start to start or the same text editor for a very long time opens or saves documents. Here you should know that Windows has come to an end. And do not expect extra speeds from her, and even more so a comfortable game in WoT.

There are only 2 ways out here. The simplest and practically painless for the brain is to remove Windows and install a new one. The second is to start a complete cleaning of the computer, remove unnecessary programs, defragment disks, clean the registry. Long and dreary. But it's up to you.

Well, as I promised, at the end of the article I post videos from the developers themselves (by the way, thank them so much for him) about how to optimize graphics in World of Tanks... This video describes in detail what fps is and what each slider in the settings is responsible for, how you can achieve an increase in fps and what it will cost.

Setting up graphics in WoT since version 1.0

And that's all for me! Many thanks to all those who have mastered this article to the end! Good luck in setting up the client, huge fps and no lags, so that later you don't ask why World of Tanks slows down.

Do not forget to share in the comments who and how won lags, brakes and freezes in World of Tanks. After all, your comment can help hundreds or even a thousand people!

Dear players, before asking your question, take the trouble to read all the comments, perhaps there is already an answer to it. Any duplicate questions will be ignored. Thank you for understanding!

With the introduction of HD maps and new music, version 1.0 will be one of the most important milestones in the history of World of Tanks. Realistic graphics came from Core, our proprietary engine that breathes life into gaming locations. With the transition to this engine, the graphic settings will be reset. Don't worry, we'll explain in detail how to get things right. And today we'll talk about how to make settings for your computer and how the automatic settings detection function works.

Please be patient: there will be a lot of technical information (but useful!). And if you don't like reading long articles, you can watch the video about the game settings or use the information blocks to go directly to the questions that interest you. Go!

Automatic detection of graphics settings in tanks 1.0

The auto-detection function is activated in two cases: when you start the game for the first time and when you click on the "Recommended" button in the graphics settings. This feature evaluates the performance of the game on your computer using new algorithms for the processor, video card, graphics and system memory, and other system performance tests. After all these tests, the system determines the golden mean between the comfortable FPS (frames per second) and the quality of the graphics on your computer and sets one of the ready-made settings: "Minimum", "Low", "Medium", "High", "Maximum "Or" Ultra ".

Important! Differences in performance between client version 1.0 and 9.22 may include autotuning results. As before, the highest quality picture for your PC will be displayed while maintaining comfortable performance. If you are not satisfied with the frames per second, try adjusting the client's graphics settings yourself.

NOTE: Please note that old and new settings do not map to each other as the game is migrating to a new graphics engine. The "Minimum" and "Low" settings work with standard graphics, and "Medium" and higher - with enhanced graphics.

IMPORTANT: The SD client offers the same set of graphics presets as the HD client, so you can enjoy the new cards even when playing with standard graphics. The only difference is that the SD client does not support high resolution textures.

How it works

The auto-sensing system tries to find a balance between the best graphics settings and the fastest frames per second. Please note that you may notice changes in FPS after automatic detection in comparison with the previous version (we have already talked about this, but we will repeat it, because this is really important), since our main task is to provide the highest quality picture with comfortable performance indicators. Basically, the feature can offer an option that will lead to FPS changes, but only if such changes are not critical to the game's performance.

If you are not happy with the frames per second after starting autodetect, select lower graphics settings - this will significantly improve performance (for example, select "Medium" if the system prompted you "High"). However, we do not advise switching from the enhanced render to the standard one if the auto-tuning suggested it to you. You will significantly lose the quality of the picture, and the performance can be tightened by adjusting the graphic settings.

Still not happy with the result? Then change the preset settings as you like.

Manual graphics settings in update 1.0 WoT

Choosing a Graphics Type

With manual settings, you will initially be able to select the type of graphics: "Standard" or "Enhanced". Both are rendered in HD quality. The only difference between the two is that Enhanced supports a full set of new technologies and effects.

NOTE: if, after auto-tuning, the game client prompts you to choose the "Enhanced" graphics type, we recommend using it. If the performance does not suit you, you can change the advanced graphics settings yourself, but we do not recommend switching to the standard render.

Advanced graphics settings in World of Tanks 1.0

Some graphics settings affect client performance more than others. By decreasing the value of the correct setting, you can achieve good FPS without significantly degrading image quality. We recommend starting with effects (anti-aliasing, quality of textures and objects, draw distance, lighting and post-processing). These are resource-intensive settings, and cutting them down will help increase FPS in most cases.

NOTE: All computers have their own configurations, and exactly the same setting changes can have different effects on different PCs.

Review the list below to familiarize yourself with each of the settings and how they all affect the picture. The graphical settings are grouped in order of the most resource-intensive ones, so you can see which ones to turn off first.

Anti-aliasing: smooths rough pixelated or jagged edges of objects using different technologies in Standard and Enhanced graphics.
- Anti-aliasing is optional in Standard graphics and is not tied to graphics presets.
- In Enhanced Graphics, anti-aliasing is necessary to provide the best picture and is tied to graphics presets.

Texture quality: affects the resolution and the type of filtering used. The higher the level of detail, the better. However, it should be borne in mind that this setting is resource-intensive. Maximum texture quality includes HD textures in the HD client.

The quality of the objects. Object detailing affects the Level of Detail (LOD). For each object, several variants are created with different levels of detail. The closer the player is to the object, the more detailed this object is depicted. This eliminates the need for highly detailed objects at a distance when careful rendering is unnecessary, and saves performance resources. At the same time, the higher the quality of the settings, the greater the distance from the player the object detail settings are switched. This parameter also affects the realism of the tank tracks. At "Medium" settings and below, they are rendered in a simplified form.

Rendering range: affects the distance at which objects are displayed. This setting only applies to objects that are not critical to the game. For example, the monastery on the map of the same name will be the same for all settings, but the fences around the fields will be different.

Why is optimal rendering distance important for your computer? On some maps, with a small drawing range, the enemy may be behind a small obstacle - and you will not know about it until you shoot at him.

Lighting and post-processing:
1. Motion blur and post-processing are cinematic effects like vignetting, chromatic aberration, distortion, and film grain. They support the overall graphics experience.
2. We removed the quality of shadows from the "Basic" settings in update 1.0 due to significant optimization of the mechanisms for their transmission.
3. The quality of the lighting is extremely important to the overall perception of the image. Lighting interacts with all other graphic elements. Depending on the selected quality, the complexity of its calculations differs: it depends on some technologies (Screen Space Reflection, Global Illumination, God Rays, Lens Flare, HBAO, the effect of wetting and puddles).

Terrain and Water: The impact of water quality on performance depends on the type of map. Locations with a marine theme ("Fjords", "Fisherman's Bay", "Calm") consume slightly more resources than those without water.

We completely reworked the landscape: improved its quality, added support for tessellation, which we also reworked specifically for the "Improved" graphics. This technology will now work on graphics cards that fully support DirectX 11 (but will not be available with "Standard" graphics, as the landscape will be simplified to improve performance).

Small stones, tracks of tracks, craters from shells will receive a geometric shape with additional detail. This is just a graphical enhancement and will not affect vehicle behavior.

You can turn off tessellation to improve performance in sniper mode and also to keep this technology out of the way when aiming.

Vegetation: The level of detail of vegetation affects the difficulty of calculating the effects of wind on trees (there is no wind in the SD client). The higher the quality of the grass, the more it will be. You can lower this setting to increase FPS.

IMPORTANT: The cloaking mechanic works the same regardless of the settings you choose.

Effects: allow you to adjust the required quality of explosions, fire, smoke and other similar effects. This parameter can be useful in combat, since such effects indicate which enemy vehicles have just fired (there will be clouds of smoke around them). When adjusting the quality of effects, keep in mind the benefits they provide.

The physics of destruction enhanced by Havok Destruction technology means objects can fall apart. If this functionality is disabled, detailed destruction will not be displayed. The setting works only with "Improved" graphics and is calculated in separate streams. You can disable this functionality if your computer's processor is not powerful enough.

Some of you may encounter an error: the application shows a message that the network is not available, while the download or update continues.
