And yet, unsurprisingly, it was still necessary, with practically new screens, to work on a new model with a larger one behind the front. On the Galaxy S4, the side frames, for example, are only 3 mm wide, and on the Galaxy S5 they have grown to 4 mm, which means that both the upper and lower parts of the frame are shrinking - the frames have also become significantly wider, although the screen itself remains virtually unchanged in size .

What's wrong with the current look, then the designers are clearly pursuing a single design line: metal and skin, skin and metal - the stench is now stagnating in all the company's mobile devices (including numerous gadgets to be). Skoda only people who, at the dismal prices at which their current flagships are sold, wanted the company to provide proper skin - perhaps then these devices would look more stylish. However, as before, here we use highly molded plastic to create the appearance that the back wall of the smartphone is made from the skin. The texture on the plastic is similar to that of the Galaxy Note 3: there are some pseudo-embossings on the surface of the impression of digital dots. It looks nice and fresh, more recognizable than the glossy plastic that has been decorating the surfaces of all Galaxy S and Galaxy Notes for a long time.

There are two main conclusions that emerge as a result of all these changes: TCL Idol X+ is the first smartphone on the MediaTek platform, which is almost ready to reach the leading solutions at Qualcomm, even if it costs twice as much the number of processor cores. And another: the new version of the top Qualcomm platform practically did not bring an increase in productivity, although this microscopic advantage allowed it to gain an even stronger foothold on the podium as the undisputed leader among platforms for mobile devices iv. The system also turns on, and if all communications are switched off, the list of running programs is limited to only those that you have allowed, and all background processes are stopped. This procedure has been completely reworked, since a lot of system functions are enabled, you won’t be able to take a screenshot in this mode, a lot of the required options will be unavailable (otherwise you won’t need it).

This mode is similar to the fact that if the battery runs out, after activating this mode in one minute, you can calmly live until the evening - SMS and voice will be available to you.

At the end of the day, we can get by with standard and unpretentious Android, which, however, works just as well as the iPhone 5s on the same tasks. In order to avoid unnecessary superstitions and battles, I want to say that each of us has our own set of accessories, work profile, brightness, etc. The phone that one person uses for two days, another uses until lunchtime. That’s why it’s not good to schedule the work of your devices, you don’t have to say anything at all, you need to update your devices immediately, with all the same concerns. For the S5, you are focused on the day-to-day work with the assurance that you will benefit from other energy-saving features, but everyone is satisfied with this device.

Hardware platform, memory, productivity

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974AC chipset, also called the Snapdragon 801.
