Acer aspire one Specifications. Acer Aspire One: the most stylish of netbooks. Acer Aspire One – all the advantages of an SSD

Who would have thought that the Acer company, which created mobile solutions only for the budget class, would release a new product that would attract the respect of all potential buyers. One 722, which has recently been the best in sales, immediately becoming a market leader. The focus of this article is a description of the device, an overview, technical characteristics and instructions for use.

Market position

Official statements from the manufacturer clearly characterize the Acer Aspire One 722 as an inexpensive tool for work, learning and multimedia. This category is largely consumed by students and people whose priority is comfort and staying in social settings at home. The small size, the glamorous look, the availability of a variety of colorful colors clearly suggest that the device must resemble a beautiful podloze.

Low budget employee? No, the winemaker didn’t hesitate and earned two great kroks before settling down. First of all, the laptop is equipped with the most advanced components (for its class), which allow you to play dynamic games. In other words, the entire filling of the device has very high energy-saving functions, which means that the autonomy of the robot on a single battery charge has significantly increased.

Equipment

To fit a budget class laptop, the Acer Aspire One 722 needs beautiful packaging and amazing equipment. The box is presented as a diplomat and, in addition to photographs, there is a further description of the technical characteristics of one of the ends of the packaging on the side edges. Having opened the box, you will see the laptop itself, housed in an antistatic envelope made of durable material. If you look at the device, you can see that all panels are covered with dry melt, including the screen and keyboard.

Under the laptop in the box there are three compartments that contain the battery, charger and further operating instructions. New laptop owners will be pleased with the charging device, which is designed for smartphones and has a power supply unit with a plug. This is very important in terms of safety, even if the cable is damaged, your outlets will have 19 Volts, not 220.

External appearance and ease of use

The design of the case will appeal to the soul of all homeowners, even the cover of the laptop has a vinyl cover, behind the shape there is a spiral. Sometimes the little ones associate with the drops, and sometimes they associate with the shellfish. In any case, it looks even beautiful, especially on light-colored buildings. Surprisingly, such a design design is even easy to mark and gradually picks up the fingers, so that most of the laptop’s handles are not in the grip. The lower part of the device is not visible at all, except for the thick plastic.

The lord will be pleased with the sweetness of the folding. The plastic components are matched one to one perfectly, there is nothing to worry about. The hinges for the Acer Aspire One 722 laptop will take away your thoughts. When the lid is open, nothing creaks, and the operation is smooth. On the other hand, it is necessary to report chimalo zusil in order to lift the roof up the hill. Apparently, it’s impossible to open a laptop with one hand, and it’s unlikely to be suitable for a woman’s situation.

Interface and options

The laptop has a daily life and a generator instead, ensuring the devices without any required interfaces. On the left side of the Acer Aspire One 722 device, you can find an RJ-45 connector, one USB 2.0 port and two video outputs. The digital HDMI output is no longer useful to anyone, and the old analogue D-Sub connector will definitely appeal to the hearts of rich people, like those who use unnecessary TVs and monitors.

On the right panel there is a card reader, two USB 2.0 ports and a connector for connecting headphones and a microphone. Also, the correspondent may reveal that, judging by the number of voices in the media, he is not very popular in our country. There is no shortage of interfaces on the front and back of the laptop, so the device can be placed up against a wall or placed on a knee without fear of damaging the device connection.

I'll attach a screen

And the axis matrix for the Acer Aspire One 722 laptop with a diagonal of 11 inches is disappointing for wealthy computer users, and it also uses TN technology, which is what most representatives of the computer market have found. The maximum screen resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels per inch. The high brightness and contrast of the matrix, however, cannot capture the shortcomings of TN technology in color transmission. This means that the screen is glossy, which means that you won’t be able to see the glare on the sun.

As they say, when you look around, for example, when watching a film in a great company, there are quite enough of them. A dynamic image does not lose color with little variation in horizontal viewing. And the perfect black color will not work, but it shows signs of LED backlighting on the screen. However, the text is clearly visible on the screen. For an inexpensive budget employee, the robot behind the display is nothing to complain about.

Application device

Most of the equipment in the Acer Aspire One 722 laptop is occupied by the keyboard, which has large buttons arranged on a small surface, one at a time. Vikoristovat the laptop at the seemingly Drukarsky typewriter, one is satisfied, eagerly presses and pardons are introduced. The buttons are short, but with miraculous results. Some buyers complain about the absence of a digital block, which means that by changing the additional buttons and removing the main ones, it would be possible to squeeze in a digital block without any problems, as is built into many competitors’ devices.

The small touchpad would seem to be invisible to anyone. The standard keys are similar to those used for scrolling up and down. However, there is one small button that can turn on the touchpad. As a result, the typing experience of the Acer Aspire One 722 laptop is great, and even often when typing texts it gets stuck and the cursor moves in an unnecessary direction.

Handling of a robot with a keyboard

And if you consider the handiness of the controls, the touchpad is the first to lose focus. It has a multi-touch function, which I can’t remember in the device description either on the box or in the documentation. Perhaps this has already become a standard and does not require a description, for example, for the manufacturer of the Acer Aspire One 722 laptop. Windows 10, the operating system, is installed on the device, turning the laptop into a tablet, allowing you to use all available technologies.

There are not a lot of functional keys, but it takes a lot of time to press them, especially when it comes to the digital keyboard. Due to the large size of the buttons, the digital block is extremely shapeless, and it is very difficult to manipulate it. Changing the sides and moving the cursor to the front and the end of the text is located on just two buttons. Because of this, you never have to do the right thing the first time.

About productivity

For most buyers, the productivity of mobile devices is a priority when purchasing. Here the vibrator doesn’t lead anyone. Having made some modifications to the device, you can charge it with the latest components to ensure high productivity of the laptop. For example, the most popular model Acer Aspire One 722 C68bb has a dual-core AMD processor with a frequency of 1 GHz and a RAM capacity of 2 GB. Many business owners may see that there is a lack, and they will be wrong, even though the race for frequencies has long since sunk into oblivion, and new technologies will not affect productivity.

The gaming potential of the laptop is enhanced by the marvelous ATI Radeon HD 6290 video adapter, which can be installed on almost any device. The official distributor informs buyers that the video card is discrete and is installed securely. In fact, the marketing campaign and video are integrated on the processor chip. This does not mean that productivity in games will not be achieved, however, the decision takes away all the power of the processor.

Games with a complete set of a vibrator

Among various modifications of the Acer Aspire One 722, the technical characteristics of the device can be adjusted to suit your needs. The designer is more likely to guess - you need an inexpensive solution for small tasks, then you can rely on a small amount of memory, a weak processor and a small hard drive. And an axis for a gaming system cannot be done without an SSD drive, a powerful processor and 4 GB of RAM.

The media has a lot of benefits for users, like the Acer Aspire One 722 laptop for gaming with the most productive components. Everyone has the same problem - overheating of the system through the trivale at maximum settings. There is only one solution here: to add an additional cooling system that needs to be placed under the bottom of the laptop.

Create a connection and multimedia

For the Acer Aspire One 722 laptop, the characteristics of wireless data transmission are not as important as productivity. However, the presence of the Bluetooth module version 3.0 will please those who need to synchronize data between available mobile devices. Not to mention the Bluetooth modem or the development of wireless headphones.

The webcam is installed in the laptop. Just 0.3 megapixels for the high-tech system of the 21st century is a great need for the people of the world. Virobnik, perhaps, having realized his mercy, some of the new modifications of the devices already have a proprietary Acer Crystal Eye camera with 1.3 megapixels.

Є negative and to the audio system installed at the device. As many people in power say, the sound from the speakers is simply pathetic. No company programs or drivers can correct the situation, you will definitely need to use headphones or an external audio system.

Autonomy and handiness

The battery with a capacity of 4400 mAh is completely sufficient for work for seven years. Customers indicate that the hour of work can be extended by 1:00 by turning on the drone-free interfaces. Naturally, with dynamic games, the battery consumption increases, and the charge will not last for more than 4 years.

As a result, you will have a powerful device that can claim a wide range of customers. Having extensively looked at the testing of the laptop in the media, this confirms what cannot be said about video devices. Netbooks Acer Aspire One 722, judging by the description of Vlasniki, cannot cope with most popular games. Here the truth is obvious - the manufacturer has presented an inexpensive solution for the budget class, and not a super-productive system for dynamic games.

At the end

The Acer Aspire One 722 laptop, as an inexpensive representative of the budget niche, copes with the assigned tasks 100%. Low effort, high productivity, amazing ease of operation, great functionality and clarity of powerful interfaces - everything is at your fingertips. On the other hand, it is not entirely clear why the device uses a game video adapter of the primary level, and even for daily productivity games it clearly does not increase, and the target audience of the laptop is primarily for those who robot priorities with office programs and surfing the Internet. In any case, the price is king, and the Acer Aspire One 722 netbook has a price.

Many people have heard that Intel processors are installed in netbooks. Intel Atom and 10.1-inch laptops began to look like the “Wintel platform” - as many people called the “symbiosis” of PC-type computers and operating systems from Microsoft. As soon as the old “term” has passed, netbooks based on AMD chips began to appear.

It became a single-core Athlon Neo MV-40, which had a CPU based on the K8 architecture, which had a greatly reduced energy consumption - up to 15 W. The pair had a new M690T chipset with an already outdated Radeon X1270 video card at that time.

The Congo platform took off, within which the first dual-core AMD chips with a TDP of no more than 18 W appeared. Three years later, the M780 chipset was introduced along with the advanced Radeon HD 3200 graphics core. But this decision did not achieve fame.

Where the Nile platform became popular, it was released in the spring of 2010. New 45 nm energy-efficient processors replaced the nasty M880 chipset with the troublesome Radeon HD 4225. Such a tandem was able to cost significantly more manufacturers, including the Acer company. She's one of the few who dared to release a 10.1-inch netbook based on Nile - others were often juxtaposed with 11.6-inch and larger models. The very same “experimental” Acer product can be seen in this article – Acer Aspire One 521.

First, go to the description of the netbook, and tell us about the Brazos platform, presented in 2011 at the CES exhibition. There are significantly more manufacturers, and some (Zokrema and Acer) are announcing tablets based on new processors. However, we have still gotten our hands on a laptop based on the previous platform.

Design

It’s easy to design an original netbook, even if it’s the least of the “classic” mobile computers. Their 10-inch screen is truly a “hulk” compared to 4-inch smartphones, where there is even less room for “embellishment”, but they manage to differentiate from their appearance. In other words, not all winemakers are afraid of this very important warehouse. There's no rush to get to the Acer Aspire One 521.

The Acer Aspire One 521 netbook is not new; the company did not give its current models a very advanced design - just a few modifications to the old ones. And we realized why everything was broken - the Aspire One 521 looks really bad. In principle, Acer has not been particularly clever - everything seems to be completely normal and original, but at the same time stylish and elegant. The shape of the body is classic and straight. At times there are smooth bevels, at other times they are sharp - the result is strict and soft - much like stylish business laptops.

Our gaze is drawn to the front by the design of the back of the screen. It's completely flat, but slightly beveled on the sides. The ale on the right is primary, because the pale-brown barley thickens less often. The most important touch is the texture with small painted and empty rectangles. The stench is applied to the right part of the lid and is gradually shaved off. The design turned out to be not chimerical, but original - this design option gives the Aspire One 521 its individuality, while the black Aspire One 522 looks much more boring.

Plus, the entire cover is covered with lacquered coating, which shines brightly, but practically does not pick up the fingers. And if you take it, then against the light background the stench is noticeable. However, the same gloss appeared on the edge of the screen - black and stained. Be quiet, there's nothing to do with the upper edge of the lid near the camera.

In the middle of the Aspire One 521, the design is ascetic, but nothing else is enough. The keyboard looks very solid - its keys are large, almost like a full-fledged laptop. This, to the point of speech, is not far from the truth. The area of the work area is small, which is why the designers wanted to leave it empty, it would look really bad. However, in addition to the touchpad, there are two stickers glued there, which makes the device “foldable”.

Well, it’s impossible to guess about the great unforeseen icon of the power button and the switch located above the keyboard. No, its function is more or less standard, the protection is made of silicone and takes the shape of an unfinished stake. As a result, it was possible to create a garne of illumination - through the stake, a part of the light penetrates the button.

And, let me tell you, about the vigor of selection. Look, as they told us, it’s really disgusting. We didn’t notice any creaking or play in the body parts; everything was well adjusted one by one. The material used is clear and soft plastic. Aluminum, of course, is reliable and solid, but also expensive - which is rarely used in netbooks.

Equipment

The Acer Aspire One 521 comes in a small, stylishly designed box made of carbon cardboard. The box contains a photograph of several Aspire Ones in different colors.

In the middle, we found a more basic set: a short manual for the repairman, a booklet with warranty information, a CD with drivers, a life unit and a rubber pad for wiping the case. The remainder is not so much needed by the examined laptop, but we still can’t tell you how obvious it is.

Before speech, the block of life of viconations is unimportant. This is a great phone charger, or a typical laptop or netbook charger. Such small dimensions made it possible to produce only 40 W (19, 2.15 A), but the larger Aspire One 521 does not need more. Plus, the fork is completely crushed, which makes it easier to transport the block, and immediately replace it, as soon as you are carried into the “unfortunate” land.

Ergonomics

It is important to note that the popularity of Acer netbooks is not entirely related to their ergonomics. Acer has tried to make the most of the small dimensions of its 10-inch models. Of course, using its keyboard is not as easy as laptops of great size, but there is no obvious discomfort.

Hey, keyboard. Thankfully, the size and shape of the keys are adjusted. One immediately gets the impression that the stench is of absolutely normal size, which is not far from the truth. The effect is further enhanced by its rounded shape - this creates an even greater stench. The size of both keys varies – they are less manual to operate. seems to be quite short, but the principle of yogo dozhni comes up. I also had a chance to “tease”, but not much. As soon as you press no more than the primary key, you will start to press the folded button and your finger will immediately miss.

While there is a problem with the pointer unit, one of the most important power sources for most mobile keyboards, the Aspire One 521 has both its advantages and disadvantages. Before the first ones, you can add a separate block to the main layout - it’s easy to find on the dot. As for the minuses, the keys are divided into two lower ones than others, which is not very easy to use. In addition, in addition to the arrow keys, they have been crammed into the block, which makes it easier to control the cursor on the fly.

The touch panel is not very large - the height of the working area does not allow it to be expanded, and it does not allow for the expansion of a special sense. However, the comfort of the robot has not been affected - the area of the touchpad is more than enough to ensure the display of an Acer netbook. As for the cover, there is a light wool that allows you to precisely control the mouse without much fuss. The buttons under the touchpad do not have a very tight press, but rather have the characteristic clicking sounds.

There are no additional buttons on the Aspire One 521. Above the keyboard there is also a button to turn on and turn off the laptop, as we have described in our report.

The left hand of the touch panel displays several LED indicators: netbook operation, battery charging, hard drive operation and drone controllers. And, of course, another lesson from the computer’s power button.

The AMD mobile platform has always been famous for its low energy consumption and high power output. However, having placed it in a 10.1-inch compact case, Acer did not get rid of the damn “frying pan” - the netbook did not heat up any more than the original “atomic” mobile computer. And it doesn’t matter that there are very few ventilation openings on the bottom (only a small row in front) and the Aspire One 521 is a heavier solution based on Intel Atom.

One of the most attractive features of the AMD ultramobile platform is the increase in up to 4 GB of RAM; Intel has limited this by a double smaller number. However, the Aspire One 521 cannot install more than 2 GB - there is no other slot for the memory module. Then you can “reach out” to the first one without any problems. In addition, there is full access to the hard drive, which is very rare for netbooks - manufacturers often allow you to change one thing: RAM or hard drive.

Roz'emi, screen, sound and camera

Netbooks on the AMD platform are most often differentiated from Intel ones with one additional connector. Like you yourself - to put it more simply. Behind the bars, “positions” are being taken.

On the left side there is a D-SUB, HDMI, a block of ventilation openings, one USB and a card reader. On the right side there is an audio output, a microphone input, two USB, a power socket, an emergency room - in the center, a Kensington Lock and an RJ-45. The front and rear side panels are empty.

Well, what is this “additional” rose? HDMI. This fact on netbooks with Intel Atom inside is explained quite simply - through the digital output of a video card built into the processor, you can display a picture of a separate area no larger than 1366x768 pixels, which is not enough for HDMI. The AMD integrated graphics version does not have this interface, so all manufacturers equip compact computer models with this output. Otherwise, as we said, the set of roses is absolutely standard.

Acer decided to add a pair of stereo speakers at the front of the bottom. Underneath them, small openings have been made in the criss-cross, so as not to muffle the sound. This means that the sound will be muffled in any way, especially the mid and high frequencies. Bass has never been present in such small speakers, so the sound clarity of the Aspire One 521 is not at its best. It’s best to connect headphones or external speakers.

Because of the lack of screens, there is a current fashion for equipping LED backlights to make them more thin and energy-saving. Because of this yakosti, we have been honored with this zagalom. For an hour we were captivated by the display of the ASUS Eee PC 1015PD netbook, and were disappointed with the screen of the MSI U135DX. So, the display of the Aspire One 521 is subjective to its color scheme, which is thicker than the first, and brighter and darker than the other. Moreover, it is closer to the ASUS laptop, which makes it quieter. The darkened screen shows an even worse picture that contains a huge supply of brightness. When I look around at the bad stuff, it turns out to be better.

However, it is standard for a 10.1" diagonal - 1024x600 pixels. For the eyes, this option is not critical, and the space on the desktop is already limited. Before speaking, the new Aspire One 522 is equipped with a display with separate 720p and 1280x72 resolution. much more beautiful in our opinion.

Well, a few words about the camera. The clarity of its images does not differ at all from other webcams included in netbooks - it is even in the middle. You can evaluate it yourself:

The separate size of the camera is 1.3 MP. The same standard, although netbooks often have a 0.3 MP sensor installed.

Configuration

If you take a laptop or netbook based on the AMD Brazos platform, then its processor configuration will not differ from any other similar product. AMD is currently shipping several 40 nm chips on the Bobcat core, of which there are only two that can actually be produced: the dual-core C-50 and E-350. Netbooks use the C-50. The smell is caused by a low clock frequency of 1.0 GHz, and at the same time low energy consumption. The situation with past generations of the AMD Nile platform is much different - it has more processors available and, which is good, it also competes badly with Intel Atom. Now let's take a look at what the Aspire One 521 is all about.

If you don't look at the top of the table, we are looking at a typical 10.1-inch netbook, even the cheapest one. However, the AMD platform sees it as “atomic”. On the right, in front of the processor, the frequency is set to 1.7 GHz, which is very bad for a netbook. Moreover, this is a practical Athlon II, which in any case will be superior to the popular Atom N455. However, such items are unnecessary for the testing section.

Of course, the chipset and video card vary. The Radeon HD 4225 is an even better solution for a 10.1-inch laptop, although the Radeon HD 6250, which is integrated into the AMD C-50 processor, may be the best. In any case, in terms of graphical speed code and functionality, the AMD platform (both past and present) outperforms the Intel Atom, from which we are also upgrading.

Our copy of the Aspire One 521 had very little RAM - less than 1 GB. The computer is installed with Windows 7 Home Basic, for which such capacity may be too small for manual operation. We would recommend increasing the amount of RAM, or even increasing it.

Not pleasing the hard drive. 160 GB is the range of budget netbooks. More expensive models are equipped with a 250-320 GB hard drive, and some of them have a spindle speed of 7200 rpm. In our opinion, this parameter is not worth saving on.

The Aspire One 521 doesn't boast much in terms of communication capabilities. There is also a Wi-Fi controller that supports the 802.11n standard. And the Bluetooth adapter axis is identified by its function. However, it is optional and may be present in other modifications. As for Ethernet, its speed cannot exceed 100 Mbit/s.

The dimensions of the Acer netbook correspond to a typical product based on Intel Atom. However, this is already an achievement – previously such compact AMD processor cases were not installed. As much as the price is high, it goes without saying that it is not very high. The Aspire One 521 can cost thousands for 9-10. True, instead of the Athlon II Neo K125, it will install a weaker AMD V105 chip (1.2 GHz). This product is clearly aimed at the budget segment.

Testing

To evaluate the speed code of the Acer Aspire One 521, we chose two ASUS netbooks: Eee PC 1015PD and 1015PEM. The grievances are based on the Intel Atom platform, and there are also design implications. Zokrema, Eee PC 1015PEM white color.

As you may note, ASUS netbooks differ from each other by only one thing – the processor. The Eee PC 1015PEM has a dual-core Atom N550 chip installed, which operates at a frequency of 1.50 GHz, while the Atom N455 has an operating frequency of 1.67 GHz.

The results of PCMark tests are more limited. The Acer netbook has surpassed the legacy of ASUS computers, including the Eee PC 1015PEM with a dual-core Atom N550. One core of the Athlon II Neo came out top in all tests, and the Radeon HD 4225 video card wonderfully complemented it.

At CINEBENCH the situation is not so clear-cut, but still just as ostentatious. The dual-core Atom N550 was tested in rendering tests, which compares well with the capabilities of multi-core processors, showing the same result as the Neo K125 with a single core. Well, the OpenGL test doesn’t show anything - the difference of 6.5 times on the speed of the Aspire One 521 speaks for itself.

It’s not hard to guess who will win in graphics tests. The advantage of the Acer Aspire One 521 is obvious, and the folding benchmark is the reason for this. So, 3DMark 2006 will have a whole new order.

As you can note, netbooks on the AMD platform can handle old games without any problems - and reach a pleasant level of FPS. With both ASUS laptops, the stink is quite strong. The two cores of the Atom N550 don't help at all - they obviously can't handle any video card.

Along with the Acer netbook, a 6-core battery (44.82 W * year; 4150 mA * year; 10.8 V) is supplied for a 10.1-inch mobile computer. Damaged products may damage the battery with a higher capacity.

Well, there’s no way to restart the Aspire One 521. For good productivity, I had to pay with an hour of autonomous work. However, the “price” turned out to be not very high - the Acer netbook compared to both ASUS quite slightly, showing, on the whole, a very significant result. Maintain a full battery charge for six and a half years in reading mode and at least one year of watching video at standard capacity. HD video drains the battery in three years.

Visnovok

AMD is clearly trying to push Intel into the market of mobile and ultramobile platforms. And, it should be noted, the second Nile platform and the Brazos production line are even further away. However, very few products were released based on Nile, especially 10.1-inch netbooks. In our opinion, for nothing - the Acer Aspire One 521 is finally confirmed.

In terms of its external parameters, the price is the simplest 10.1-inch netbook, no more or less than typical representatives on the Intel Atom platform. It heats up no more than them, has the same dimensions and power, and runs on a battery for a long time. However, in the middle, it is noticeably higher speed, which overwhelms the dual-core Atom N550 chip. And the difference is especially visible in the graphic works - there are hundreds of hundreds of them.

Otherwise, the advantages of the Aspire One 521 include a manually unfolded keyboard, a decent screen, an unusual design, good assembly, and the possibility of self-updating. Plus, it’s not all that easy to buy this netbook these days. So you don't have to worry about the drive of this moral antiquity - the Aspire One 521 can compete with today's netbooks.

After the destruction of the Centrino platform by the mass market, it might have seemed that, judging by the configuration, all today’s laptops are twin brothers. Although we would like to know the most important thing (the most important thing is the size of the PC screen), we would like to give laptops of different classes a new set of capabilities. Plus or minus an additional graphics controller, plus or minus a TV tuner and a web camera. With the advent of netbooks, it became clear that the configuration is really similar - almost all netbooks on the market have similar fillings, so you don’t have to look at the table of technical characteristics of the new model. And although the productivity of different models is not the same, but, as our previous tests have shown, the value, behind the big difference, is only the ROM software - the subsystems are absolutely identical. Who is the one who is most respectful of the 10-15% difference in early tests and understands the reasons for this? Even netbooks are aimed at the mass consumer and are positioned between live electronics, in close proximity to communicators, e-readers and other similar devices. In other words, most netbook buyers are not the kind of people who will make purchasing decisions based on the top scores in productivity tests. All other factors may be important here (and our tests of netbooks confirm this) - device capacity, battery life, reliability. It is possible to add design to this row. First of all, choosing among devices that are practically identical in technical characteristics, you will inevitably give preference to a model with the finest design. I'm sorry, even if it's a high-tech toy, it still has an image function. In other words, some of the best performance among commercial netbooks is obviously greater than among commercial full-format laptops. It’s not for nothing that manufacturers are calling for a white-colored model; moreover, there are erysipelas-colored netbooks on the market! Until recently, all netbook manufacturers tried to make their devices as accessible and inexpensive as possible. The first netbooks were created within the framework of the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) concept, which limited the price of a netbook to $100-$200. Apparently, there were no special designer touches to be seen from them. And even the development of a bright style, and, of course, the clear materials necessary for its implementation - all this adds up to the greater convenience of a netbook.

Retailers of Aspire One clearly had their say on the design of the model.

Prote models whose manufacturers have placed an emphasis on design. One of them – Aspire One from Acer – was used in our laboratory. What advantages, besides its design, can this model be named?

Contents of delivery

Appreciate the compactness of the Aspire One box to help keep your keys on hand.

The Acer Aspire One looks impressive even before it comes out of the box. This model is supplied in a neatly designed miniature cardboard box, smaller in size than any competitor - ideal for retail sale.

The delivery kit includes a branded case

However, the compactness of the packaging in this type does not mean that the packaging is poor; in the box, in addition to the netbook itself, the buyer will find:

  • rechargeable battery,
  • carrying case,
  • CD for OS update,
  • report book of koristuvach,
  • block of life and hemlock cord
Looking ahead, it is significant that there is not a single piece of soft rubber left for wiping the body. As long as the branded cover is worn out, its softness and new appearance are highly rated. However, as with other netbooks tested in our laboratory, the case is no longer suitable for a netbook - the life adapter will not fit into it. As the test results showed, the Aspire One is more competitive, but the price is lower.

Like most current netbooks Acer Aspire One is equipped with 1.6 GHz Atom N270

The configuration of the Acer Aspire One confirms the words from which this article began - the design and hardware of all netbooks are similar, and the list of features is very short, below the list of new elements. Like most current Acer Aspire One netbooks, they are based on a system board with a mobile version of the Intel 945 series chipset – 945GSE. The Intel Atom N270 processor with a clock frequency of 1.6 GHz works in tandem with 533 MHz DDR2 memory (the laptop has one module installed). It is noteworthy that the Aspire One does not have hatches for access to replaceable components - to upgrade the netbook, the bottom panel will have to be completely dismantled.

GMA 950 graphics core is included in the chipset

The graphics core – Intel GMA 950 – is installed in the original location and reserves part of the system memory for video RAM. The RC display of the netbook has a diagonal of 8.9 inches and a separate size of 1024x600 - these are also important characteristics, although more and more manufacturers are talking about the release of models with a larger screen diagonal. However, compared to most competitors, the Aspire One boasts a glossy screen finish that enhances image clarity. However, this is not suitable for all painters, even though the glossy finish is glare and easy to smudge. A 0.3 MP web camera is built into the screen frame. As a ROM, a single 8-GB SSD drive with an ATA66 interface is used - the capacity is modest by today's standards. Obviously, the developers have miraculously realized that the Aspire One is equipped with two slots for memory cards. One of them is particularly useful with SD/MMC and, as the creators intended, it will be used as an additional storage device. It also allows you to work with SD/MMC cards, Memory Stick (including Pro) and xD. Communication controllers are represented by a 10/100-Mbit/s adapter Realtek RTL8102E and a droneless module Atheros AR5007EG, which is based on the specifications of the presentation driver under the Acer InviLink name. However, regardless of the brand name, its characteristics are not particularly significant - it is not suitable for 802.11b/g, and the Swedish standard 802.11n is not supported. And the worst drawback is the lack of Bluetooth module in the configuration of the Aspire One, as well as most of its competitors.

However, it should be noted that most customers connect via Bluetooth GPRS or 3G modems, and the upcoming Aspire One will be equipped with a modem for 3G communication – this has been announced officially. The slot for SIM cards is already located under the battery, so you have to remove it to insert a SIM card. However, there is no doubt that the new Aspire One models will also have a Bluetooth module with a 3G modem - even though most competitors have this requirement.

The package includes a miniature three-cell battery

The capacity of the battery included in the kit is 26.6 Wh

The delivery set includes a compact three-cell rechargeable battery with a capacity of 26.6 W * year. For an additional fee, the manufacturer is selling a six-volt version of the battery, according to the manufacturer, such batteries will soon appear in the Russian market. Please note that the dimensions of the six-volt battery model are obviously larger - it significantly exceeds the dimensions of a netbook and with such a battery it will not fit in a branded case. The most important feature of the Aspire One configuration is the presence of active cooling. The netbook comes with a miniature fan, which is located under a round protrusion located close to the bottom panel. The noise level of this fan is very low, preferably in a quiet room, so that the sound of its operation can strain your ears. This ensures an evenly low level of heating - the Aspire One is noticeably “cooler” than many competitors. When describing the configuration, it is necessary to note that the AOA110-A modification was assigned for testing. On the Russian market, Acer also offers a 150 modification (AOA150-B), the main unit of which is a 120 GB hard drive (Serial ATA interface, 5400 rpm) instead of an SSD storage device.

Design and ergonomics

The glossy surface of the cover is decorated with the Acer logo

Apparently, there is no shortage of flavor and color, but, in the author’s opinion, the Aspire One is the most beautiful netbook that the Russian branch has ever seen. The glossy case with mother-of-pearl finish can be either white or dark blue – obviously, white models are intended to present a beautiful figure, and the blue version is more suitable for men. As you can easily guess from the photographs, having received a blue netbook from our laboratory, we will describe the design on its device. The lower part of the body is made of pure black plastic, and the upper part and cover are made of blue with lacquer finish. Unfortunately, the glossy surface of the cover of the screen is even slightly curved by fingerprints, but perhaps that’s just a small part of it.

The lid hinges are decorated with red metal rings

The LED indicators are visible both when the lid is open and closed.

The hinges of the lid are decorated with red metal rings, and there are also a number of bright elements – Acer and Aspire One logos are silvered on the hinges and hinges. The left side of the hinges contains several LED indicators, which can be seen both when the lid is opened and closed.

The light of the LED built into the power button does not fade in the dark

The life button is equipped with a green LED at the end - this is light and dark and does not work in the dark at all. On the front edge of the working panel there is a silver insert, on the sides there are light indicators that indicate the operating mode of communication devices.

The netbook is compact and extremely light (on par with its competitors) - exactly 1 kg. This is partly due to the active cooling system - it does not require a bulky and important radiator. Rotating the ports is well thought out and handling them is very easy. On the right side panel there are two USB ports, 3.5 mm audio jacks for microphone and headphones, a main slot for memory cards and a slot for a Kensington lock.

On the left side panel there is a connector for the power supply unit, as well as an analog VGA connector, a wired RJ-45, a third USB port and an additional slot for SD/MMC memory cards. There are no ports or sockets on the front or back (one fault is the obvious feature of the right-handed drone-less module on the front panel) - this is reasonable for a model that often uses a thin, flat body on knees.

Keyboard

As a rule, the keyboard itself is one of the weakest parts of a netbook. Models with a screen diagonal of up to nine inches are equipped with small and hard-to-handle keyboards. And equipped with 10-inch displays, netbooks that are smaller than smaller keyboards, business owners are concerned about the bulkiness and cost of this type of device. But Acer retailers have found the golden mean and have decided to introduce a compact netbook with a manual keyboard. First of all, the Aspire One has a keyboard with 17.5 mm alphabetic keys - previously only ASUS 1000 series netbooks could boast of this. At first glance, two millimeters (most netbooks have keyboards with a width of 15.5 mm) appear to be non-networkable, but in practice the difference is much smaller. Even the size of the 17.5 mm alphabetic keys is much closer to full-format laptops (their keys are usually 18 mm long) and typing is definitely more comfortable.

The key width is 17.5 mm, and the “arrows” are placed in a single block.

In addition, the Aspire One keyboard is distinguished by the placement of “arrows” in the same block, larger sizes and further placement of other functional keys. Moreover, the key has a small width - the same as with alphabetic keys.

The manipulator buttons are located on the sides of the touch panel

The wide touch panel of the netbook was easy for us to use. The manipulator buttons are located on the sides next to it, and not under it, as before. This option is more manual, since there is no risk of sealing the touch panel with your middle or ring finger while pressing the button with your outside finger.

Linpus

We were already wondering about the 150 modification of the Aspire One introduced to the market. As a hoarder, there is another important feature – the Windows XP operating system. Even on the 110th model, including the number of copies we tested, Linpus OS is installed - a special version of GNU/Linux was prepared by Acer engineers, which simplifies the interface and all the necessary drivers.

Are the authors of Aspire One trying to improve the brightness of the PK display?

Vlasnik Aspire One may be considered a core member of the Energy Center

The system interface of netbooks that are supplied to the Russian market is mostly Russified. It’s very simple - a netbook is easy for misunderstood users to get into trouble with. As long as you don’t get lost in the translation, the main items and sections of the menu are translated correctly, and in the depths of the dialog boxes you can find words such as “Enable control of the activities of a specific monitor.” However, the main menus may please you, for example, “Energy Center”.

Then, on all sides of the interface, search is available, which allows you to search both local documents and power up search systems on the Internet - and those that are otherwise even easier. Ale, at the very least, as much as the proven capabilities of Linpus will be diminished, and the interface will be too limited. Although, at first glance, everything is necessary, if you search for a long time, it will be easy to see the number of required codecs and certain programs. Upgrading Linpus on your own is tricky for people familiar with Linux. So if you are ready to spend an hour setting up drivers, or rather install a full-fledged Linux, but not Windows XP.

* when testing a 16-GB storage device, other models of netbooks compared to the Aspire One have a “greedy face”, but there is clearly “goodness in the middle” - the configuration looms larger in the distance. However, there was no significant decline in the productivity of the memory subsystem - the uptake of DDR2-533 versus DDR2-667 on test runs was minimal.

The built-in SSD storage code is lost to competitors

And the axis behind the Aspire One SSD drive’s encryption is clearly shared with competitors’ models and is not shown in the results of other tests. Unfortunately, the PCMark05 test package had constant glitches and it was not possible to find out the reason after an hour of testing.

Aside from the result of MobileMark05 Productivity, you can see that the productivity of the Aspire One is practically comparable to the productivity of the eee PC 901, demonstrated by the rest when tested on a larger scale with two storage devices (indicated by a star). It can be assumed that the results of the Aspire One on these tests will be close to the values indicated by the star, but they did not pass. And these values are mainly lower for the maximum productivity of the eee PC 901. The eee PC 1000 model, the Aspire One netbook, runs even less.

The battery charge of the Acer Aspire One lasts for two years in the Battery Eater Pro 2.60 test

The Acer Aspire One battery will also need two years to recharge

Moreover, it was noted that many buyers of netbooks are seriously striving to improve their productivity and improve the speed of other subsystems. There is a need to look at web pages, read emails, Skype messages and ICQ – and that’s enough. And the hour of autonomous work is important for any professional and here the Aspire One, unfortunately, again appears among its competitors. At maximum intensity (Battery Eater Pro 2.60 Classic), an hour of autonomous operation becomes a little more than two years. When working in the mode simulating an emergency office robot (MobileMark05 Productivity), the battery charge lasted three and a quarter years, and in the saving mode (MobileMark05 Reader) - three and a half years. The results are not good for a basic laptop, or even for a netbook with a 9-inch screen, an LED-lit screen and an economical SSD storage device – not much.

The speed code of the installed SD/MMC adapter is used as an additional storage device.

In addition, we measured using the additional HD Tune program the speed of reading the memory card adapter, which retailers recommend using as an additional storage device. For this purpose, we installed a 1 GB Apacer MMC Plus 290X card into the memory card slot (maximum data transfer speed – 43.5 MB/s). The productivity of the adapter was less than that of a built-in SSD storage device, so, considering the availability of high-capacity SD cards for sale, it can be effectively used to expand permanent memory.

Visnovki

We are testing the Acer Aspire One netbook pouch.
  • Disadvantages: Low productivity and average hour of autonomous work
  • Pros: Slim design, light weight and compactness, detachable keyboard, well-thought-out ergonomics
Consumers are unlikely to choose this netbook as a road model - competitors can offer higher productivity for more hours of work on the battery. If you're buying the Aspire One as another portable computer and don't plan on using it for work, it might be a good choice. Because of the author’s special thoughts, since I chose the ASUS eee PC 1000, I would have given the tested copy a model with a hard drive (120 GB - a record for netbooks) and tried to find a battery with a higher capacity for it i. The Aspire One seems to me to be the best among the netbooks launched on the market.

Russia, according to other data, is recognized as a leader in the growth of prosperous Internet networks among European countries, so it is not surprising that more and more companies are trying to recognize prosperous Internet users on the “global web.” It doesn’t matter what device you use: a phone with a built-in browser or an iPhone/iPod touch with one of the most powerful mobile ways of surfing in between.

Laptop manufacturers have also become interested in this sector, and they want to provide buyers with a guide from the world wide range, a kind of expensive delivery, after installing the device, constantly connecting to the limit and guaranteeing a good time. We can add a netbook here.

4 months have passed since the publication of Artem Lutfullin’s material. During this hour, the market, closed and Russian, has replenished with several models of netbooks from various manufacturers. The same concept of “netbook” has become attached to small devices the size of a book, the main purpose of which is to work on the Internet and with text, as well as to create multimedia capabilities.

The differences between the models on the market are not very great. Basically, they involve different amounts of RAM, storing information (HDD or SSD), as well as the operating system installed in the netbook - most often Windows XP or one of the Linux variants.

The founder of the Asus EEE PC 70x series showed two important points: the screen size is larger by 7 inches, and the size is 1024x600, or the larger keyboard installed in the Asus EEE PC 70x was also much smaller, it was trivial to drukuvat on it text of great volume.

The Asus company continued the EEE PC series with models 900 and 901. The first of them differed little from the netbook, as Artem described in his article: having increased the size of the screen, it definitely allowed; The keyboard did not change - the size of the keys was changed by itself. The new model, 901, is a smaller, even more important innovation, and the Atom processor itself, which has since become a de facto standard, other manufacturers released their devices on this processor (with a rare twist).

Competitors quickly caught up with Asus and presented their netbook models: MSI U90 and Acer Aspire One. Models with 10" screens are starting to appear on sale - Asus EEE PC 1000x and MSI Wind (U100), but we won't bother with them today, sizes, and the main thing of these devices is even larger, which means The highest level of compactness.

Let's just move on to talking about the Acer Aspire One.

Position

The presentation of the Aspire One, as I was told, was aimed at clarifying the positioning of the device and explaining the capabilities of this netbook model compared to its competitors.

Acer is especially keen on the proper presentation of its new device. The company no longer wants the Aspire One to lie on the shelves in the same row as “great laptops” and be recommended to these buyers because they don’t have to spend money on a full-fledged laptop. Acer really wants to achieve the right understanding of the essence of the device: an additional element for the home, and not a replacement for a desktop computer or laptop. I will not leave the role of the product-buyer relationship with store sellers or, in extreme cases, resources similar to mobile-review.

A netbook like the Aspire One is a device, a reliable companion, which is always at hand and at the same time lightweight and compact, has a larger screen than current phones, PDAs and communicators, and allows you to satisfy all your work needs with the Internet. Aspire One creations for saving, working, learning, saving and saving data. As a living product, this device can become the family’s first computer and become familiar with the Internet, multimedia and office editors, or another computer, functionally moving between the PDA and the family’s main computer/laptop.

Possible configurations

The laptop will be supplied in two configurations: the older one (index 150) and the younger one (110, which we tested).

110 : Screen 8.9" CrystalBrite WSVGA (1024x600), Intel Atom N270 processor (1.6 MHz), RAM 512 MB DDR2 (soldered into the motherboard), 8 GB SSD, LAN 10/100, Wi-Fi 8 Linux operating system (Linpus Lite).

The RAM can be expanded by purchasing an additional stick and installing it in the slot yourself (you can get to it without uninstalling the entire laptop), which does not void the warranty. And the NAND-flash axis with a capacity of 8 GB, on which the system of the younger model is installed, can not be easily replaced with a full-fledged HDD - the layout of the devices does not allow for the creation of anything. On the Internet, a number of clever people have been able to connect an HDD, but it looks unpresentable, but those who like to dig around and find non-standard moves, sacrificing their appearance, will soon find themselves. If you still really want to increase your storage capacity, you can buy an SDHC card and insert it into a special Storage Expansion slot, the system will automatically expand your system space per card size. A good option is that SD cards cost a pretty penny these days - you can buy a 16 GB card for 1,800 rubles.

Model 150 I have the following configuration: Screen 8.9" CrystalBrite WSVGA (1024x600), Intel Atom N270 processor (1.6 MHz), RAM 1024 MB DDR2 (of which 512 MB is soldered into the motherboard, another 52 HDD, LAN 10/100, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Windows operating system (Home Edition).

All models are supplied with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2400 mAg, which lasts for 2.5-3 years of operation. A full charge requires 1 year and 20 minutes.

There is also a battery with an extended capacity - its charge, according to previous information, will last for approximately 7 years of operation. Orientation price – 3000 rubles. There is also a possible option for the latest Aspire One configurations, which immediately includes an extended-capacity battery.

As you may have noticed, in the current configuration there is no implementation of Bluetooth - the driver is important that there is no urgent need for the module, as there will be a need for this type of data transfer, which may drink it at the sight of the USB keychain.

It is planned to release a configuration with the installation of a 3G and WiMax module in May. This will be done in an alliance with one of the operators in connection, before the end of the production line.

Configuration with a 3G module will cost approximately 1000 rubles.

Equipment

In the barvystia box you can find: cover with skin. replacement, compact life adapter and the netbook itself. In addition to a short and detailed description, there is also Recover Disk for Linux.

The cover is original, but only intended to prevent the glossy surface of the netbook from getting dirty when carried in a backpack or bag.

For updating the adapter Asus EEE PC 701

The adapter is quite small; this size is ideal for use as a charger for a mobile phone, but not for a laptop. If you're going on a trip and need to get some exercise, you don't have to worry about the ones you'll have to constantly carry around with you.

Design, dimensions

After ten days of victory, the Asus EEE PC 701 lost the Aspire One. Subjectively, I like the Aspire One better. Glossy surfaces, which mercilessly accumulate fingerprints, give a more strict look to the device. The matte and short material used in the production of the EEE PC 701 deprives the attention of the “budget”, inexpensive device, in the development of which there was a lot to save on.

There are several color options for the body: Golden brown, Coral tan, White shell and Sapphire blue. The top sellers were models with white and blue versions of the body. Rusty and brown netbooks appear later than this fate.

The color covers the back surface of the cover (the half with the screen) and the area near the keyboard, including the touchpad. Models in blue and brown colors have a black-colored keyboard, as well as black ribs; For white and horned models, the elements are prepared in white color. Regardless of the main color, the edging of the screen becomes black.

The Aspire One netbook does not have the same straight cut; all the lines of the body are rounded. As a special design element, the designers see rings of orange color that extend from both sides, next to the hinges. However, this procedure is not repeated anywhere else, at least in the design of the Recovery disk.

Size and install, as before, one of the most important parameters of the netbook. Aspire One is the world's most compact and lightweight: physical parameters are 249x170x29 mm, weight - 977 grams. Firstly, model 150, with a hard drive of 80 GB, will be important a little more; Also, the dimensions of the device increase when installing a rechargeable battery.

The difference in size with the Asus EEE PC701 is not so great; an additional space is used to increase the keyboard. We'll talk about this later.

The Aspire One can easily fit into bags of various sizes, so if you want to carry a backpack with you, you won’t notice the presence of a netube in a new one, which is great for everything.

Housing, folding capacity

The plastic body was treated clearly, there were no scuffs or rips in an hour - the finish instills confidence. But the outer side of the netbook’s cover, through its gloss, gradually picks up fingertips. The inner part near the keyboard is painted in the main color of the device, but interspersed with sparkles.

The bitterness of the folded complaint does not scream. The parts of the body are carefully adjusted, one by one, there is some play, some wear or tear, I don’t notice.

Refrigeration system, thermal imaging system

The cooling system in the Aspire One is active - the fan at the bottom of the case starts working as soon as there is a serious impact on the system (at the hour when resource-intensive add-ons are launched).

The case practically does not heat up, if you put the netbook on your knees, there is no discomfort.

Elementi keruvannya

The layout of the elements is completely standard for laptops: on the left side there is a socket for connecting a power adapter, output to an external display (VGA), a small opening for the cooling system, an Ethernet port, 1 USB and a Storage Expansion slot for internal expansion new memory that supports cards in SD \SDHC format.

On the right side there is a Kensigton Lock connector, then there is a card reader that supports SD, MMC, RS-MMC, MS, MS PRO, xD standards, below that there are two USB 2.0 ports, a 3.5 mm audio output and an input for connecting a microphone.

On the bottom of the netbook, near the right corner, there is a button that activates Wi-Fi.

On the front panel, in a small recessed area, there is a power up/down button with a built-in indicator (the indicator lights up green when the netbook is running, it lights up orange during the cooldown mode and lights up orange during charging).

Above the display is a Crystal Eye camera for video conferencing with a separate 0.3 megapixel camera. There will be a small opening - this is where the microphone is installed.

The speakers are located at the bottom of the body, at the bottom part. The loudness is average, for background sound it is possible, but for more extensive listening to podcasts, music and movie soundtracks, I recommend using headphones.

The robot indicators are located on a long cylinder, located at the very top of the lower half of the housing. When the cylinder cover is closed, a ring appears and the indicator lights are no longer visible. The first of them informs about the battery charge, the other lights up in time with the work of the disk drive, and then two indicators light up when Caps Lock and Num Lock are activated.

Screen

The TFT display has a diagonal of 8.9" (195x114 mm), has an excellent brightness indicator, uses Acer CrystalBrite proprietary technology and is equipped with LED backlights, and is available in a separate building 102 4x600 pixels and supports 262000 colors.

With the ever-increasing variety of data, there is a need to use horizontal scrolling when viewing Internet pages.

The horizontal ones do not raise any claims when looking at them, but the vertical ones could be shortcomings. However, the best way to do this is to push the lid of the netbook as far as possible (155 degrees), so the colors do not invert.

Keyboard

Keyboard Aser Aspire One

Keyboard Asus EEE PC 701

The keyboard includes 84 buttons with a travel of 1.6 mm. Their implementation in the Aspire One surpasses that in the Asus EEE PC 701 in all respects, especially for the size of the buttons (89% of the size of a standard keyboard), which allows you to type texts of important obligations without much effort. This article, like many others, is written on the Aspire One. There is a beeping sound until the buttons are moved. It’s not very easy to use the cursors - the buttons in the lower right corner are very crowded, and your finger often gets stuck in Pg Dn or Pg Up, which is located in the distance, practically stuck.

It may be difficult to apply symbols to the buttons - Cyrillic and Latin appear in a different color and size, and without numbers (which are activated using Num Lk) they appear in a blue color. The nitrohy’s furnishings don’t particularly matter to me.

The top row has F-buttons, half of which behind the additional Fn modifier allow you to connect the netbook, switch between the existing and external display, turn on the sound, etc. Also, using the additional Fn key and cursors, you can change the volume of the sound and the brightness of the screen.

The touchpad on the Aspire One is horizontally retracted. Regardless of low height, vertical scrolling works, although the smoothing is not applied to the surface. The keys are located on the sides of the touchpad, and not under it, as is most often the case. It’s not so easy to mess around with them, as I’ve found out, but you can call me before I work.

Platform, productivity

Well, we have come to the most ambiguous aspect of the Aspire One.

The whole point is that all attempts to work with a netbook manually are cut off at the root of the Linpus Linux Lite installed on the model being tested.

Acer tried to make the interface intuitively understandable, dividing the “desktop” into 4 zones, which includes the main motives of the upcoming robot on the Aspire One.

Let's briefly go through the sections:

Connect

Oglyadach- Mozilla Firefox web browser version 2.0.0.14 (upgrading to version 3.0 is not possible in this case)

I.M.- a program for broadcasting that supports the protocols MSN Messenger, Yahoo mesenger, Google Talk, AIM (Skype support on a daily basis, as well as ICQ support)

Electronic mail- Postal client with support for up to 5 cloud records. Also include a contact book and calendar.

RSS feeds- a simple program for reading RSS subscriptions

As you can see, the manufacturer has tried to implement most popular Internet services, but through shortcomings and to finish the unfriendly shell of the possibility of customization of the product.

The biggest surprise for me was the absence of Skype support in the add-ons, since the fact of its obviousness appears practically in every brochure. The existence of ICQ is explained by the unavailability of the protocol for the Linux platform, so it is unclear how the program can be updated.

The axis, for example, describes how you can update the installed Firefox to version 2.0.0.11 (quote from the handbook of Koristuvach):

  1. Open the website http://rpm.pbone.net
  2. In the search panel, search for the word Firefox
  3. From the results, search for Fedora 6
  4. Once desired, run the rpm package -Uvh firefox-2.0.0.11-.1.fc6.remi.i386.rpm

It is impossible to carry out this procedure using standard methods through a browser.

Once there is an update for the installed software, it may be necessary to quickly fix it in a way that will improve it. The thing needs to be put together in such a way - I don’t understand. Shvidshe for all the exchange of the operating system.

The system does not have an audio video codec installed, making it practically impossible to watch your favorite videos, trailers, or listen to musical compositions. The method of installing codecs is somewhat similar to the process of updating Firefox, which I found out, with the same difference that codecs will still have to be registered.

The remaining item launches a clumsy file manager, sending messages to separate folders.

An unacceptable feature of the shell is the inability to add shortcuts to your programs. If you download Skype yourself and install it, you will have to launch the program using the command line, which, wait a minute, is not easy.

All exchanges are brought to the point: if you are not controlled by the possibilities that the PZ is expected to be awakened (and most of the episodes will happen), then you will have to start the “dance with tambourines” or immediately “wear” the place of Linpus and become significant OC.

I especially wanted to install a lighter version of Windows. However, when tried on the EEE PC 701, the Aspire One did not work. Having given the device to Artemov Lutfullin, he finally decided to upgrade his netbook to Windows. True, according to Artyom, in this configuration (110) the Aspire One is noticeably flamboyant, subjectively the robot is more likely to work when upgrading from the installed Windows OS on the EEE PC 701. However, this topic is related movie In the near future, check out new materials from netbooks on our website.

Visnovki. Perspectives of Competition

Those netbooks that have found their buyer have already shown high sales of the Asus EEE PC 701, as well as the excitement that awaits the release of a new model. The main competitors offer devices with a screen diagonal of 8.9 inches; they do not have as many display options as the Aspire One. In this case, you will be amazed at the size of the buttons, their handiness is especially important for you - try typing a small text in a store.

Before purchasing, I also recommend talking to the seller and especially trying out the operating system installed on the netbook. In just a short hour, you can understand how easy it is to spilt, how easy it is to update and other important points.

As the popularization of netbooks continues to increase, Acer plans to sell a significant number of copies. The main motives for the promotion were the popularity of the Acer brand and the great success of the production of laptops. It is planned to launch an advertising campaign jointly with one of the Wi-Fi providers, which will be launched close to the fall.

Sales of the Aspire One have already begun. Acer has set the following recommended prices: 11,990 rubles for the younger model and 14,990 rubles for the older one.

The price is completely competitive for both the younger and older model. Tim no less, I would recommend turning your attention to another option, since the primary Windows turned out to be more friendly to the core, lower than Linux Linpus. Acer launched a special website where they promise to advertise programs for Linpus, but at the time of writing this article nothing appeared there. Three thousand rubles, as they ask for the older version, - read more than a large amount of memory and an operating system from Microsoft is installed - is not such a big sum for additional comfort.

If, as a result of this article, you did not find out whether you need a netbook, but the Aspire One itself, then I recommend that you check the current article to look at the proposals of competitors, available for sale in our country.

In 2008, netbooks became the number of largest IT companies. Of course, it was ASUS who gave the most attention as the beginning of the whole revolution. From these “stacks” came the Eee PC 900 and Eee PC 1000, as well as a number of their modifications. MSI Wind U100 netbooks have become increasingly popular. Now the Taiwanese company is planning to release the U120. There were such manufacturers as HP, Dell, Fujitsu and others. Unfortunately, only ASUS, MSI and Acer products have reached our shelves in sufficient quantities.

Acer Aspire One is one of the youngest netbooks on the market. This start turned out to be even faster. First of all, it will immediately become available in a number of configurations. Well, in other words, its price is in the middle a little lower than that of its analogues. Behind the great frame, the Acer netbook is very similar to the ASUS Eee PC 901, 1000 and 1000H, and at the same time the MSI Wind U100. Aspire One can be installed either from Windows XP or from Linux. Well, because of the sheer abundance of data, you can choose either a small-volume SSD or a HDD. We'll talk about configuration later. For now let's look at the design.

Design

The external appearance of the Acer Aspire One is even more attractive. Acer, as well as MSI, supplies netbooks in four different color options: dark blue, light gray, russet and brown. We got the first one.
