New Russian satellites have been put into operation "Express-AM5" and "Express-AT1"

The Express-AM5 satellite will create the necessary infrastructure to provide the population of Siberia and the Far East with a package of multiservice services, which includes telephony, video conferencing, data transmission, Internet access and the ability to make calls arrangement of regional multiplexes in zones statements “A” and “B”, which belong to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as the Trans-Baikal Territory. In addition, the spacecraft "Express-AM5" will have presidential and government connections.

The Express-AT1 satellite, intended for direct television and radio broadcasting, replaces the Bonum-1 satellite, which was launched in 1998 and expanded its resource in 2010. Express-AT1 will provide the brains for the intensive development of new infocommunication technologies, high-definition television, allow the expansion of direct television programs in the European part of Russia, The Urals and Western Siberia, as well as Western and Western Europe. The satellite resource will be required by DTH (Direct-To-Home) platforms that operate, and will also allow the development of new projects in the space of satellite direct communication.

One of the key areas of activity of the Ministry of Communications and Communications of Russia is the development of satellite communication and communications. First of all, it is necessary to organize digital telecasting and provide services to connect remote and highly accessible regions of the country, where it is too expensive to connect optical channels, if not technically impossible.

“Satellite communications make it possible to quickly and easily organize expanded teleradio programs and provide the population with access to other important services: broadband Internet access, remote lighting, telemedicine. Satellite solutions are especially effective for organizing communication and communication in Siberia and on the Far East. The introduction into operation of the Express-AM5 and Express-AT1 satellites became an important milestone in the modernization of satellite grouping for civilian purposes,” said Mikola Nikiforov, head of the Russian Ministry of Communications and Communications.

In 2014, the Ministry of Communications of Russia will continue to update and develop a huge grouping of satellite communications and communication. The launches of four more satellites are planned: Express-AM6, Express-AM4R, Express-AM8 and Express-AM7. We will begin the development of orbital grouping with the launch of a spacecraft of the important class “Express-AMU1” in 2015.
