LED lamps from the Russian brand Gauss were one of the first to appear on the market. Many people respect the lamps of this brand as one of the most important ones, and there is very little to complain about them.

It’s a pity, Gauss, that they produce bright lamps, which always put protected characteristics on the packaging and indicate unrealistic values ​​for the color index (CRI, Ra).

Today I will analyze the results of my testing of twenty-four Gauss lamps released in 2017 and 2018.


Lamps are available in two series - Gauss in black packaging and Gauss elementary in white packaging (cheaper option).


On the lamps in the black package the indications are Ra>90, on the lamps in the white package Ra>80, but, unfortunately, this is not true. In fact, for lamps in black packaging, CRI (Ra) is 81-84, for lamps in white packaging - 73-76.

The warranty term for most lamps in black packaging is 3 or 5 rubles, for elementary lamps in white packaging, and for capsule lamps (G4 and G9) in black packaging – 1 rub.

On the packaging of most of the lamps it is written “without pulsation” and this is true, but there are lamps that do not have this written on them, and there was an unacceptable pulsation of hundred percent. Such lamps are definitely not worth buying.

Light flow, color temperature and color index were measured for help two-meter integrating sphere and spectrometer Instrument Systems CAS 140 CT, the characteristics are brightened by the Viso Light Spion attachment, the tension is improved by the Robiton PM-2 attachment, and the pulsation is achieved by the Uprtek MK350D attachment. As can be seen from the table, all lamps have actual pressure less than stated. Lamps-pears of the black series give 81-85% of the total light flow, but the equivalent of a frying lamp corresponds to the stated one.

I think Gauss has previously specified a color temperature of 2700K for its “warm” lamps, although in fact it will always be close to 3100K, the color temperature of lamps with neutral light is close to 4000K, and on the packaging it is written 4100K.

One lamp from the protests, released in 2018 and has a five-year guarantee, - a candle with a stated power of 9.5 W, a light flux of 890 lm and the equivalent of a 95 W frying lamp actually equals 8 W, gives 703 lm and replaces the lamp with E14 candles all one thing is very rich. It’s important that in this color lamp the temperature is indicated as 3000K and that’s it. I hope that in 2018 the color temperature on all lamps began to be indicated correctly.

The actual color indices for all these lamps (CRI, Ra) are 80-82, although the packaging says “more than 90”. These are normal values ​​for household lighting lamps, but they don’t have anything of the same wattage as lamps with a CRI greater than 90.

Lamps in white boxes from the Elementary series have color indexes of 73-76 (and on the packaging it is written “more than 80”), then their light flow may be consistent with the declared one.

All “pears”, “balls” and “candles” work correctly with the chemicals that show the indicator (do not burn and do not burn weakly if the liquid is soaked). Three GX3 lights also work correctly, and two from the white series burn weakly if the liquid is soaked.

Most lamps use a stabilizer and their brightness does not change when the voltage is changed over a wide range. All lamps, including dimmed ones, operate at a reduced voltage of up to 135 volts, and some operate at lower voltages.

Two smoked GX53 spots have a pulsation coefficient of close to 30%. Such pulsation may not be noticeable visually, but it is still there. Please note that there is no pulsation sign on the packaging of these lamps.

The light stream of protest spots may also be consistent with the statement.

Gauss capsule microlamps were divided into two “camps”. Those that have the “no pulsation” sign usually show a pulsation factor of less than 1%, and those that don’t have a sign, unfortunately show a pulsation factor of 100% and such lamps are no longer available.

The light output of all microlamps is actually less than declared (by 18-38%) and only that of the 12-volt G4 microlamp may be consistent with the declared one. The color temperature of “warm” lamps, as in other types of lamps, is closer to 3000K, lower than the stated 2700K.

All good capsule lamps (about those with 100% pulsation, and they say not very well) cannot correctly work with signals that show an indicator (fire if the device is wet).

The following conclusions can be drawn from the test results:

Gauss black series garni lamps, but it is necessary to pay attention that their actual intensity and light flow are lower than stated, and the actual color index is more than 80;

Gauss white series Elementary have a color index of more than 70, so to lighten living spaces they should not be stained;

It is important to pay respect to the pulsation-free sign on the packaging of Gauss lamps. However, there will be a pulsation throughout the entire period, and in some capsule microlamps it will be up to 100%.

The Russian brand Navigator has 89 types of LED lamps in its assortment. I have asked the Battery Team company, which owns this brand, to test a number of lamp samples to replace the standard 60 and 75 W frying lamps, as well as to replace the 40 W candle lamps. Let’s talk about “candles”, and today there are several lamps from two series - NLL-A Professional (8 and 11 W) and NLL-A Standard (7 and 10 W).

Lamps with intensity 7 and 10 W currently cost 250 rubles, lamps 8 and 11 W - 410 rubles.


All lamps do not move and can work with devices that light the indicator. Due to the fact that the diameter is larger than the lower body, all the lamps shine a little back and this is good.

I’ll start with the results of vimirs created using Viso LightSpion().

All lamps produce a light output greater than stated (in order to glow brighter, lower than the light source). Equivalent to the pressure of insurance coming from the extinction of the light flow of various frying lamps. The color temperature is close to the stated one, the CRI exceeds 80 (this means that the lamps can be used in residential areas and their light is consistent with the colors).

The 8-watt lamp NLL-A55-8-230-2.7K-E27 from the expensive NLL-A Professional series has a metal radiator and weighs 96 grams.

Bulbs 8 and 11 W are practically unknown - they provide a comfortable color of lighting and their technical parameters are better than those stated by the manufacturer.
The light bulbs are 7 and 10 W and have a greenish-yellow tint, and their technical parameters correspond to the stated requirements.

Getting ahead of myself, I will say that the Navigator candle lamps that are being dimmed turned out to be the shortest of all LED lamps of this format that I have encountered. We'll tell you about them soon.

TESTING
The test has 28 LED lamps with E14 and E27 sockets. All report data is shown in the table.

In order to understand the available terms and characteristics that are used for marking light bulbs and, especially for our tester, it is necessary to take a short look at the lighting technical terms. Kolyorova temperature. It appears in Kelvins (spelled as K). An indicator of the color of the lamp, indicating the shade of light that the lamp produces (yellow, white, dark). The broadest three groups of color temperatures are:

  • Warm color - “like the original frying lamp” (color temperature, approximately 2700-3300 K); This temperature is the color of the sky at sunset;
  • Day color – (4000-4200 K), basic white color without shading; this is the color of the dim, rosy sky;
  • Cold color (close to 5000 K); pale white color;

Before speaking, the bright, beautiful blue sky has a temperature of close to 30,000 K, which means that the higher the temperature, the greater the transition from blue to red.

Here the producers’ imagination ran wild again. One and the same color is called “soft neutral” by some, “cold” by others, “brightened” by others, and “natural, daytime, neutral” by others.

Base. The most popular types of bases in households are E14 (so called minion) and E27. The numbers indicated indicate the millimeters of the diameter of this base. This type of base is also called the “Edison base”.

Svetlova's contribution. This complex of indicators, which can be called a coeffect of the bark action (or is not), strengthens the connection with the light flow to the point of exertion. The maximum value that is theoretically achievable with fully converted energy in visible light is 199 lm/W for white light. The original frying lamp has a low light output - a little more than 10 lm/W, which is its main disadvantage.

Color index (indicated as Ra or CRI). Forgive words, means how well our eyes will perceive the colors of objects that we see in a piece of light. The standard is respected by the sleepy light (100). The numbers in the lamps must be no less than 70, but there are some nuances here. In the EU, the norm is no less than 80, and values ​​less than this figure can be used for street or commercial lighting. In Ukraine, according to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, the number 70 is established for internal lighting and 60 for external lighting. The color index is of great importance when illuminating any premises, and it is more important to accurately define the color: the workshop of artists and fashion designers, photo laboratories, dressing rooms and, especially, children's rooms, because it is the most more beautiful brain of a child means real colors and Then you will receive them correctly.

The test subjects analyzed a special parameter: the special color index (R 9). Tsikavy showpiece. Pulsation coefficient (CP,%). Seemingly powerful, this is the very same thing that we can get from obscure or old pipe parts of lamps. Such exercise not only causes fatigue, but can also stimulate blurred vision and even provoke an attack of epilepsy.

Brightness (power of light). Dimensions are expressed in candelas (written as CD or CD). On home light bulbs there is no sharpening, which describes the amount of light that is distributed in a given direction, and living lamps, as a rule, shine on all sides. Due to their brightness, they are guilty of such titles. The higher the number, the brighter it is, and the harder it is for the eyes.

Lightening. Look at the suites (lux or lux). There is no direct relationship to the technical performance of lamps, but it must be kept up to the level of illumination of the place. how the lamps themselves light up, for example, a school classroom or room.

Labeling and Packaging
Before packaging there was no respect, the lamps were packed in cardboard. Colby in dry plastic, then. not as tendentious as roasting or fluorescent lamps.

Before marking, there is respect, although they are much less than in our previous tests. Such obvious damage cannot be shown by the type of light flow, which has never happened.

We changed the rating of the Osram lamp for the difference in data and the tightness of the packaging. In one place the pressure is set to 9 W, in another – 9.5. The same applies to the warranty term, 2 and 3 terms are consistent.

The ratings for the introduction of the spozhivacha into Oman were reduced to the vibrator as the edge of the vibrator. All lamps are tested and manufactured in China, and there is no need to indicate the manufacturer in either the EU or Ukraine.

Also, the rating of E-stars lamps was reduced by one point, due to the lack of similarity indicated on the packaging to similar frying lamps. This is an unnecessary point in view of the standards, although not all people know what to expect from a 6 W lamp, we respect that it is even more important.

Technical testing
Light flow. The brightness of the lamp is indicated by the light flux. This value shows the amount of light that is produced by this device. All lamps must indicate this size on their label. And once again everything was done, however, the stench did not represent reality, but not even another Rosmov.

First of all, it is necessary to explain how the ventilation was assessed in relation to the light flow and, obviously, how it was indicated in the assessments. Both in the EU standards and in the Ukrainian ones, a loss of light flux of 30% is taken as such that the lamp is actually considered inoperative (although, of course, it may still burn). Using our five-point scale, we divided 30% into ratings and deducted that for 6% skin care in the lower part, the rating is reduced by 1 point. So, for example, the Eurolampturbo lamp (e27) declared a light output of 700 lm, but in fact it is 461 lm, which is 34% lower. Obviously, the rating for such a performance could be anything less than “too bad.”

Unfortunately, this most important parameter has too many light bulbs. Ratings from all over the world were lowered: Electrum (e14), Feron (offensively), Gauss (offensively), Videx (e14), Emilight (e27), Eurolamp (us 3 positions), "Online" (e27) and Jazzway (e14 ). Please see the table below.

Kolyorova temperature. Understand the standards for an acceptable change in color temperature in one or the other direction. Our test lamps FeronOptima (offensively), Gauss (offensively) and JazzWay (E14) had the necessary parameters, which, insanely, lowers the brightness rating.

Lightness is important, but the characteristics of rubble lamps are not so important. All lamps have a light intensity slightly lower than stated, which is entirely acceptable; moreover, if the light output corresponds to the stated value, then it is absolutely fine.

Color index (Ra or CRI). In Ukraine, the standard standards indicate 70 and 60 for internal and external lighting. In the EU, the norm for interior lighting is 80. Coming from the color parameter itself (the more, the better), we decided that the ratings here are based on the self-declaration of the manufacturer (no less than he himself), so It may be at least 80.

Here the ratings were lowered by ELM (offensively, for less than 80), Videx (offensively, under less than 80), Svetlokomplekt (e27, less than stated), Gauss (offensively, less than stated), Eurolamp (all 3 positions, less than stated).

For the special color index, we did not have lower scores, but are recommended and promising for understanding. Moreover, none of the manufacturers indicate on the packaging.

Pulsation of light. As we all understand, the pulsating light of the eyes. The level of pulsation is standardized according to the type of application and is regulated (in a very specific way) by standard standards (DBN). Look, the numbers fluctuate around 10-20%. Fortunately, only the tested Navigator (e14) and Emilight (e27) lamps have clearly protected pulsation figures of 38% and 75%, which leads to a reduction in ratings. Others either do not show pulsation (the specificity of the device, which means pulsation, is that it does not allow you to show the number 0%, so 1% means that there is practically no pulsation), or much lower than visible.

Economic characteristics
Type of lamps: frying. Based on the availability of data about the type of frying lamps, we decided to include this indicator before the evaluations. For more power than 10 W, the rating was reduced. It’s more likely that people who live are more likely to focus on tightness rather than light flow, and such data is even more basic for them.

Here it is important to explain to your fellow workers (and it seems to be the case with most winemakers) that there is no “high proportional density” of intensity and light flow. Therefore, the equivalent labels on compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) for 5 times and LED lamps for up to 10 times do not demonstrate effectiveness. In order to be aware of the information about those equivalents, we have created the document EU Ecodesign DIM2, which shows the updated data on the light fluxes of different types of lamps in relation to the refrigeration lamps (sent). So, for example, a Eurolamp lamp (e27) with a thickness of 10 W is declared as an analogue of a 100 W frying lamp, which is not true, since the light flow of a 100 W frying lamp becomes 1340 lm. And Eurolamp has more than 1000 claims, but in fact it glows 801 lm, which is less than a 60-watt lamp.

Uncertainties in this indicator led to a reduction in ratings for lamps: Electrum, ELM, Videx, Svetlokomplekt, Feron, Eurolamp, Gauss and “Online”.

Svetlova's contribution- The value, which shows how economical, the intensity is transformed into light. This term applies inclusively to light bulbs, which is a specific indicator of energy efficiency (not CEC, although even similar), and is expressed not in %, but in lm/W.

Previously, the standards did not have the same benefits, now they do. So, from the 1st year of 2014 in lamps with a temperature of 2700-3500K the light output is no less than 70 lm/W, with a temperature of 4000-5000K - 80 lm/W, and with a temperature of 5700-6500K - 90 lm.

Good news: As a rule, LED lamps come with a long warranty term, so you can replace a light fixture that has burned out with a new one, without wasting the receipt and packaging. So, don’t throw away checks and figure out for yourself what kind of check is what kind of lamp.

Price and brightness

Regardless of the great number of bad assessments and a lot of respect for the actual performance of the protest lamps, there are still good news.

First of all, the brightness of the light bulbs is growing. Out of 28 positions, the tester has 10 excellent ratings and another 4 good ratings. Tobto. Maybe half. In another way, the leaders, who had not let down their teammates before, have become deprived of such. Before them, there were some “newbies” who, as we assure you, will not lose their grades from now on.

The following brands are rated “excellent”: E-stars (offended), JazzWay (e27), Maxus (offered), Osram (offended), Philips (offended) and Svitlokomplekt (e14). Rated “good” by Electrum (e27), ELM (e14), VidexE-series (e27), Svitlokomplekt (e27).

Thirdly, prices for LED products have decreased significantly compared to previous tests. Replacing all lamps in the booth will result in a significant reduction in energy consumption and as a result of changes in payments.

There are a lot of lamps with ratings of “bad” and “even bad”, then we think they also need to be over-examined here: Eurolamp (all 3 positions) - for the lack of consistency in the light flow, the similarity of the lamps to frying and color transfer. EMILIGHT (e27) - for the lack of consistency with the light flow and divine pulsation (75%). FeronOptima (e27) - for non-compliance with light flow, color temperature and similarity to frying lamps. Online (e27) – for the lack of similarity to the light flow and similarity to frying lamps. Gauss (е14) - for non-compliance with light flux, color temperature, color transfer and similarity to frying lamps. JazzWay (е14) - for unmatched light flow and color temperature.

Lamps in food and drink

To what extent does the relationship between lamps of the type “20 W equals 100 W” correspond?

This relationship is, in principle, incorrect, since it is sense to compare not the intensity, but the level of light flow. But CFL and LED lamps do not directly represent such a level. Only halogen lamps can boast of such figures.

Why do the lamps shine on the dark side?
This occurs through a small fluorescent coil in the lamp itself, most often when switched off from the candles. In the middle of such lamps there are capacitors that allow the combustion engine to start, the current flow is sufficient for the work to begin, but not enough for support. Therefore the lamps burn out and immediately go out, in other words, flicker. And since CFLs may not be very noticeable, since they require an hour to ignite, LEDs burn very quickly.

A few of the lamps already indicate on the label the possibility of vikoristanya on chemistries with switches, respectively. without a moment.

Why is the new light-emitting diode lamps so strangely dim?

Is it possible to put such lamps on the street?

What CFLs and LED lamps don’t like is their hermetically sealed housings and high moisture content. This is important when installed, for example, in sunshades, swimming pools and saunas.

How can energy-saving and LED lamps be used in dimmers and timers?

In order to provide information on the power supply and select the ideal LED lamps for the price-brightness relationship, I am starting a series of articles on the current levels of LED lamps tested by the lamptest.ru project. To date, thousands of lamp models have been tested over and over again, including lamps of all household brands, which you can buy from Lvov.

We compare the results of testing sixty LED lamps used to replace the standard 60 W frying lamp, we know about the most important parameters of lamps that need to be respected, and we give recommendations that lamps more kupuvati.

What really matters is how much light such a light bulb provides. The parameter that indicates the amount of light is called light flux and is measured in lumens (lm). The packaging of 60-watt light bulbs indicates a light output of 710 lm. Wikipedia and European standards show a value of 806 lm. In reality, the frying lamps sold in stores provide less light and their brightness is completely dependent on the voltage at the limit, which is often lower than the standard value of 230 volts.

We protested behind the additional Viso Light Spion device, five 60 W frying lamps at a voltage of 230 and 220 volts. The voltage was set with an accuracy of 0.1% using the Shtil stabilizer, LATR Suntek TDGC2-0.5 and two precision multimeters Aneng AN8001, calibrated using high-precision devices Keithly 2000 Multimeter and GW Instek GPM-8212 .

To determine the results, at a voltage of 230 volts the lamps give an average of 650 lm, and at a voltage of 220 - 540 lm.

Before speaking, previous studies have shown that different types of frying lamps can vary greatly from one type to another, so in this table it is not possible to work out information about those lamps of the same brand that are brighter than the lamps something else.

Doctors still recommend using lamps with a “warm” light of 2700-3000 K in the home, and the author agrees with their thoughts. 40 models of twenty-seven brands took the same fate as the “warm” lamps. The lamps in the table are sorted by dim light flux.

Of the tested models, there are 14 lamps, on the packaging of which it is indicated that instead of replacing a 60-watt frying lamp, or giving at least 540 lm, this will actually ensure less light output. And Supra, Saffit and REV 7W lamps provide 1.5-1.8 times less light, lower cost, and can replace a 40-watt frying lamp. However, protection from the generator of the equivalent and light flow is avoided by many brands. This can be seen in the table.

The lamps are burning with an unacceptably high pulsation.

The color index of many cheap lamps is close to 73. Such lamps can be used in other areas (corridors, hallways), but in living rooms, in the kitchen and bathroom, rather than lamps with CRI>80.

Not all lamps work correctly if there is a problem with the indicator. In the lamps that can be used with such vimikachami, in the column “on.” The table has the value "ok". The meaning “mit” means that the lamp is off, and “gir” means that the lamp glows faintly when the lamp is turned off.

LED lamps may have two types of drivers (electronic boards that ensure the life of the LEDs) - linear and pulsed. When the line driver is low voltage, the brightness of the lamp lies under the voltage, and when the voltage is low, the brightness decreases. As a rule, when the line driver is switched off, the brightness drops by 10% at a voltage of 205-215 volts. The pulse driver stabilizes the supply voltage of the LEDs, and the brightness of the lamp does not change over a wide range of supply voltages. As a rule, lamps with a pulse driver can operate without changing brightness when the voltage is reduced to 160 volts. The driver type is indicated in the "type" column.

Test lamps can be highly recommended before purchasing.

  1. IKEA Ledare 303.059.76 LED1466G9. This lamp is the most expensive of those that took their part from the same year, just ahead of us through the high color index 92.5 (respect, of all the LED lamps that are sold in Russia, only the Ikea Ledare lamps have an index color vische 90). In addition, this lamp, one of those that took its part from the original one, supports brightness regulation (dimming). The parameters of the lamp exactly correspond to the stated requirements. Light pulsation of 10% is completely unnoticeable.
  2. "Nanosvet L160 LE-GLS-8/E27/827". A stand-alone light bulb with excellent characteristics at a great price. The pulsation of the day, with the help of which the candlelight may flow, is working. A single defect will void the guarantee.
  3. X-Flash 44788 XF-E27-A60-P-8W-3000K-220V. A replacement light bulb with a five-star guarantee and a guaranteed price. The only complaint from the distributor is that the equivalent values ​​are incorrect: 650 lm - not 75 W.
  4. Geniled 01210 E27 A60 7W 2700K. A great light bulb at a wonderful price. Claims to the manufacturer - the equivalent and color temperature were incorrectly assigned.
  5. Osram LED STAR CLASSIC A 60 6.8W/827 FR E27. Garna lamp. The only downside is that it does not work with the indicator.

The first three rows of the table are the lamps Diall (the top brand of Castorama stores), Auchan (the top brand of Auchan stores), Lexman (the top brand of Leroy Merlin stores), which played an extremely hot role in European standards, which transmit a light output of 806 lm. equivalent to a 60-watt lamp. These lamps can be recommended before purchase, or as a replacement for 75-watt lamps rather than 60-watt ones.

The Feron LB-92 25457 lamp also showed good results, while the same Feron LB-91 lamp with greater intensity showed a color index lower than 75, which means that the manufacturer does not have much respect for the kind of LEDs used in lamps. and in other the parties could all be different.

Two Volpe lamps have advanced characteristics on the packaging, but give the garnet light. We do not recommend them since some other lamps of this brand have low color transfer indices.

The Philips lamp 871829175275200 has a housing of the same diameter as the body. Through this, the lamp does not shine back at all, and when placed in the chandelier with the base uphill, the ceiling becomes dark. This lamp has a pulsation of 22%, which is not noticeable.

The lamp "Era Economy LED smd A60-8w-827-E27 ECO" also has a slight pulsation of 22%.

We have used two "Era Economy" lamps with the new name "smd A60-10W-827-E27 ECO". One for the white box, the other for the red one. The one with the white one has a small high CRI, but has an unacceptably high pulsation, and the one with the red box has no pulsation, but the CRI is low.

I would like to add one more unacceptable speech. Gauss, Smartbuy, “Era” brandy on the packaging depends not only on the light flow, equivalent and tightness, but on the color index, indicating a value of 80, despite the fact that the actual wine is lower than 73.

With Lexman 8 and 10 W lamps and Auchan, the story is the same - they are necessary for replacing 60-watt lamps and are suitable for replacing 75-watt lamps. Unacceptable pulsation was detected in Ecola LED D7LV82ELC and Era Economy LED smd A60-8w-840-E27 lamps. OSRAM and Philips lamps produce a color temperature of 6500 K - this is too cold and not at all suitable for residential applications.

  1. "Nanosvit L161 LE-GLS-8/E27/840". The front lamp is a warm twin L160. A single defect will void the guarantee.
  2. "Era LED smd A60-8w-842-E27". The lamp produces 100 lumens less light, the lower Nanosvit, and successfully replaces a 60-watt frying lamp. It's a good lamp, the only downside is that the information on the light flow, intensity and equivalent on the packaging is incorrect.
  3. Lexman 7-A60 E27/40 R. The lamp has an equivalent of 45 W, but it produces 557 lm and can completely replace a 60-watt frying lamp. The guarantee for this lamp is 5 years.
  4. Robiton 676-399 LED A60-8W-4200K-E27. Garna lamp. One thing we can’t correctly deal with is the indicator.

It’s a pity that the new product only included the “cheaper” Gauss and Camelion lamps and did not include models of other popular brands. This is partly due to the fact that many manufacturers have focused on producing high-power lamps, and lamps in the “pear” format, which replace the frying lamp less than 75 W, are not lost from the assortment.
