Since there are a whole bunch of photos and videos on your computer, and everything is still scattered in different folders for delivery, then sometimes you want to look at the photos from the last period of time (for example, for every year) and making money is not easy!

You can, of course, collect everything, buy it all, put it in one folder, and then end up putting everything in order over time, months, or otherwise, as needed.

Let's look at two ways to organize photos and videos (at once or side by side, without any difference) so that you can easily find your way around the number of files, for example, thousands.

The simplest and most straightforward way to organize all your photos and videos so that you can easily navigate through them is to group them in the same Windows library (or as many as you like).

WHAT TO PRESENT YOUR FILE LIBRARY IN WINDOWS

Libraries are a set of folders that group files by name (for example, music, images, videos, etc.) and allow you to manually work with these files, for example, if you take an image or video, you can arrange їх for the date, why do the primary folders don't waste money.

In Windows, the following libraries are created initially:

  • Video;
  • Image;
  • documents;
  • Music.

Apparently, each of them is intended for the single type of files, which is understandable from the name.

Libraries are displayed directly in Windows Explorer, in the content column:

You can rename libraries as needed. For example, it is not difficult to separate videos and images across different libraries. So, it will be more correct and more, but who can manually put everything in one package, both photos and videos. In this case, you can rename the “Image” library, for example, from “Video and Photo”, and store it there and elsewhere. The “Image” library itself can be properly ordered, since the setup of these libraries is quite similar.

You can also create new libraries, for the sake of it. Ale zazvichay, who has no need. Remnants of any types of files that have already been discovered during the promotional process appear.

UPGRADED PHOTO/VIDEO IN LIBRARIES

Transferring photo/video collections to the library

The first thing you need to do is transfer all your photos and videos scattered around your computer into one or a few libraries. Sign up immediately, save photos and videos, and then. in various libraries, as originally conceived in Windows, but everything is in stock. I’ll guess what’s possible and so and so and everything will be done.

Depending on your choice, select all photos and videos from your computer from the following folders: “Images” and “Videos” (or all from “Images”).

If your computer is such a mess that it is important to manually find out all the photos and videos scattered in different folders, then you can quickly get help with the WinDirStat program. It allows you to evaluate which files (by category) occupy space on your computer and where they have been removed.

Photos and videos need to be transferred to folders, not to libraries. The folders “Images”, “Video” and others can be found in the folder (for older operating systems), or in the “This computer” section (for new systems, for example, Windows 10).

The libraries themselves are formed from several such folders.

If you already have photos and videos in any other folders, you can transfer them directly to the folders. It's not easy to move files around. Butt:

In order by dates

After you have moved your entire collection to the “images” and “videos” folders or to one of them, open the external library through the “Libraries” section (showing more). There won’t be any order there for the first time. Everything looks like this:

If the collection is now in the library's possession, you can easily organize everything by date.

To do this, click on an empty place in the library with the right mouse button (hereinafter "RMB") and select "arrange", then select the value "day" or "month". When you select "month", your collection is ordered by month based on assigned assignments. Butt:

And now you can open the month and look at the photos for this period. When you reach the current month folder, the photos in it will already be organized by day (div. below).

When you select "day", the entire collection in the folder is ordered according to the day:

By clicking on the arrows opposite the day, you can grab photos/videos for that day:

If you want to get the bathroom in order, then. Close the original display view, then select “Folder” in the “Arrange” menu.

Increase your respect! Windows arranges photos and videos according to the following parameters: “date taken” (for photos) and “date created multimedia” (for videos). These parameters indicate to the file the device itself that was captured. They can be accessed and changed through the authorities of the file (RMB on the file and select “Authorities”), in the “Report” tab.

Multimedia creation date for video

If the file does not have this data for any reason (for example, the devices were not created before the time of capture), then the order of the photo and video will be based on the date the file was created:

This is not good, because the date the file was created changes when it is copied to another folder, to another disk, etc. It is best to indicate the date of the contract and the date of creation of multimedia!

More “fine” filtering for dates

You can further filter your collections, for example, select the day or range of days (days, months, etc.) for which you want to display photos/videos.

Before doing this, you need to change the option for displaying files in a table. To do this, right-click in the window area and select “View” - “table”. Files in the folder are displayed in a table view, based on the date, size and other parameters in the following sections:

Now by clicking to the right under the “Dates” section, you can select a day or a range of dates, years, months, or years. For example, we would like to display photos/videos for the dates from the 11th of leaf fall in 2016 to the 30th of leaf fall in 2016. With a mouse, you can see the range and in the explorer window you will see all the elements that do not correspond to the designated dates.

If you need to select filtering, open the window of the selected filter and uncheck the box (the image above will appear larger).

Possibility to group files behind different symbols

In addition to arranging the collection by dates, you can also group by characters, for example, by file type, and in this way all files that are displayed will be manually grouped. Butt:

Of course, it’s more important that there are 3 groups of file types, the unneeded ones can be burned, so that they don’t bother. This is handy when you have a large number of different files on your dad, if you need to look at files of different types. For example, we want to separate the photos and videos that group them together. Having selected grouping by file type, we will also include video files grouped by file type (MP4, MOV, etc.) and photos, grouped similarly (JPG, PNG, etc.).

To select grouping, right-click on the desired folder, select “Grouping” and in the submenu that opens, select the required grouping option, for example, “Type” (or “by file type”, simply by identifying butt).

There are different grouping options depending on the file type. If the required option is not available in the list (this means that the “Type” option is also available), click “Report” in the grouping menu.

In the window, check the required grouping options that you need and click “OK”. Now the list of grouping options will appear.

If you need to specify a grouping, select “None” in the list of options.

You should know that grouping is not available if you have chosen any ordering option, for example, “month” or “day”. Grouping only works if ordering is turned on. The “folder” option is selected (wonderful).

VISNOVOK

In fact, for those who have a large collection of photos and videos, it will now be important to quickly organize everything by date or group it. It’s so easy and it’s even easier to work with.

If there is anything to add or any food for the article, please leave it in the comments, I won’t miss anything! :)

Do you have a lot of photos and videos saved on your computer? :) How do you manage your multimedia collections?

Mayzhe of the skin people, What is it like to use a digital camera? Thousands, and maybe tens of thousands of different photographs have accumulated on the computer. The skin of this majestic archive is preserved in different ways. For some, in one catalog there are no different folders with names or dates, similar photographs, and for some, all of them are saved on different disks, storage devices, in different folders and, perhaps, actions have long been forgotten in any - or dad with him Yam “New folder” :)

Naturally, if there are photographs scattered all over the computer for a lot of money, one thought about their ordering and search generates negative impressions. Alas, not everything is as bad as it appears at first glance :) Regardless of how you save photographs - With this archive, Google Picasa will help you log in. I would like to describe the process of organizing your home photo archive using Google Picasa.

In just one year you can achieve the following results:

  1. Find out all the photos on your computer, find out the ones you forgot about.
  2. Organize them and quickly learn to find the photos you need!

Automatic search for all your photos.

Let's continue from the first point. As I already wrote, to create a home photo archive, I will use the Google Picasa program. This is a cost-free and very difficult photo manager. You can admire it on the official website: //picasa.google.ru/. Installation of programs proceeds smoothly and calmly: we launch the installation file and proceed with everything we need to do.

Before you send a message to the robot from Google Picasa, remember two very important and cursory speeches:

Picasa does not save photos on your computer: When you open Picasa, it simply searches for folders on your computer and displays the photos it finds. It displays job files of specific types in the folders selected for search. Weekend photos are always saved: Picasa's third-party editing tools remove unused files. Changes made to photos are only viewable in Picasa unless you want to save them. In this case, Picasa creates a new version with the changes, keeping the output file unchanged.

So, if Google Picasa is installed, we launch it. Since all the photos on your computer are located in different folders or on different disks, I recommend checking if it automatically searches for photos on your computer.

For example, I save all my photos in one folder, so after launching I immediately indicate the folder in which the program can be processed. If you have the same situation, I recommend immediately going to the menu Tools -> Folder Manager And check the boxes only on the folders in which photos are saved.

If you have photos scattered all over your computer, then you can do nothing, but simply watch out for how Picasa knows all your photos and images.

If the program opens outside of your computer, on the left side you will see the list of folders in which images and photographs were found. Use Picasa to know all the images on your computer.

We sort and order the photographs in the collection.

This list must be cleared independently. To clear the list of folders with photos:

Once the list of folders is cleared, you can merge the catalogs that are missing from the Collection. For example, in my archive I know a bunch of different folders from my release in 2012:

This makes the names of these folders especially less informative. That's why I put them into one collection. For whom:

Now you no longer have to look through the entire list of folders and organize them into your collections.

I have accumulated countless photographs from smartphones. I have to change my smartphone often, and even for the sake of every examination, I will be sure to check out a new smartphone as my main phone in order to reveal all the features and nuances.

I have found a way to change and rearrange tens of thousands of photographs.

Various smartphones give names to photographs on different principles - some with reference to the date and time of capture, some simply call them DSC_0001, DSC_0002, etc.

Initially, I would like to simply rename the files to the current date, but it turned out that sometimes, when transferred to a computer, the date is lost and replaced with the current date.

Fortunately, JPG files have EXIF - an information block with capture parameters, which includes the date and hour of capture.

The work progressed to the point where it was necessary to change all photo files so that the name had the date and hour of capture from EXIF, and also change the date of all files, updating the capture date. There is a program on the Internet that can do this: Exifer - http://www.exifer.friedemann.info/index.htm#Download.

It's simple: Select the required folder, see all the files (Edit - Select All or Ctrl+A), go to rename (Edit - Rename/redate and copy or Ctrl+N), check the box "Redate (by EXIF date fields )" and start the process with the OK button.

All visible files in the folder will be renamed and the date/hour of the capture will be exactly displayed. I'm afraid that because of the large number of files, the program is unable to process a large number of files, as it informs. But it doesn’t matter – it’s enough to re-run the process for these files.

This can also be automated: the exiftool program http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/, which works in the command line, can put all the photos into folders based on dates, months and days of employment.

exiftool "-Directory" command

exiftool "-Directory" command

Renaming all photos must be done before the date and time of capture and arranging them in folders with dates to create a large photo editor for the manual archives. Try it! It takes quite a bit of an hour.

2016, Oleksiy Nadiyin

The main topic of my blog is technology in people’s lives. I write about everything, share my knowledge, tell you about all sorts of cool things. And I also publish reports from these places and tell you about them.
Give it to me from a friend

With the advent of digital cameras, it has become possible to photograph any objects and, most importantly, in any quantity. Digital technologies do not impose any restrictions on the ease of taking pictures. The immediate result of this was that the number of photographs taken by amateur photographers, without even looking like professionals, increased exponentially. On the available memory card of the camera, you can easily accommodate hundreds or thousands of frames of maximum brightness. Moreover, only a small part of these photographs are destroyed; most of the photo archives are saved on the hard drive of the computer.

This is where the photographer faces an even more important task - how to save a large number of digital photographs, so as not to get lost in the large number of files and, if possible, quickly find the photo you need? With such tasks of cataloging and organizing the photo archive, almost every photographer follows. What is the best way to organize your home photo archive in order to ensure easy retouching of captured images?

Organizing your home photo archive

It must be said that the most common problems of ordering and managing photographic images of skin from photographers are dealt with in an independent, individual manner. Otherwise, all captured frames will be transferred by the photographer from various flash drives and disks to the hard drive of the computer, which can be used specifically for archiving and cataloging. The simplest way to catalog photographs is to immediately rename all photographs and place the files on disk in separate folders with unique names. In this case, the photographer is engaged in cataloging the captured frames manually, changing the names of the files and transferring them to the desired folder.

This approach can be used by an amateur photographer who does not often take, for example, family photographs. You don't need to go into complicated cataloging methods. Create a number of folders for personal music with subfolders for singing songs – a trip, a chat with friends or a summer holiday. Thus, all folders with photographs will be moved to the hard drive in chronological order, so that they can be manually accessed to find the required photographs.

A similar simple system for cataloging a home archive works well when the number of photographs is too small. However, as practice shows, among most amateur photographers, the number of frames taken is growing at an avalanche-like pace. As a result, the entire procedure of renaming and placing files becomes tedious. But the worst thing is that once in a while a photographer has to figure out what fate he or she wants to know. And with the new skin wrinkle, the body becomes less able to cope. That's why many photographers, who take frames in large quantities, prefer to use special programs for cataloging photographs. These photo organizers are based on the principle of physical division into folders and sorting of frames using key words.

Cataloging of photographs using additional software features

A special program - a photo organizer - will help you organize and catalog a large number of digital photographs. Today, among them, you can know enough that they can expand absolutely cost-free, while others are subject to an additional license. The most popular and popular photo organizers can include programs such as Adobe Photoshop Album, Lightroom, PicaJet Photo Album, Extensis Portfolio, iView, Photo Cataloging, Google Picasa, FotoAlbum Pro and many others. Cataloging of photographs in most similar programs is based on the additional placement of captured frames in a similar system, in which all information is divided into individual categories. In the middle of these categories, subcategories and labels can also be placed. All photographs classified in this way are identified by so-called metadata, such as data about the photographs, including keywords, date of capture and a short description. When the program creates logical folders with photos, it will reflect the original physical folders; the files that appear in them may be located not in one specific place, but in different physical folders on the computer’s hard drive.

The logical dad will save extra money for image files. Apparently, this means that in the skin photo collection created by the painter, there may be pictures from different devices. Thus, the program automatically organizes a SQL database with previews of all photos that are located on your hard drive. Such programs will ensure a quick and easy search for the captured footage and their demonstration. More than that, the organiiseri photographer often does not intend to be the lies of the cataloging digiribris il Proponot to the photographer Taki Takovtovsky, Yak Shvidka Koriguvannya Zrezhenya, regulating the Yaskratysti that contrasted, the opponent of photographer.

It is clear that using such a program in an archive with a large number of photographs is very easy. However, in order to place photographs in the catalog, you must first provide them with supporting data. It is not at all necessary to provide a skin photograph with a detailed description. The key words should be kept short, but the main goal is to make the search process easier with photographs. When you place a new batch of photographs in the catalog, the stinks are first looked at, then pictures that are not included are removed, and a slight correction of the image is made. Some photographs can be immediately converted to black and white format or you can change the color intensity of the photo using the capabilities of the photo organizer.

Next, each photograph is given its own special label - keywords. Moreover, such keywords in catalosis can be the same number of regions, for example, “Podorozhi” - “Kraina” - “Czech Republic” - “Prague”. In addition to the key words, before the photograph you can add a description, a description of where and for which settings this photograph was taken. Photos are also clearly accompanied by an icon about the date of capture. To use keywords and an icon system, the program will quickly find you need a photo or a whole list of photos to search for the keywords. Moreover, you can search not only for keywords, but also for the name of the album and the date of purchase. You can also quickly look at all the photographs taken during the period that you need to know. Photos in the catalog can be accompanied by your special rating, so that you can immediately find out about any relevant shots in a particular photo shoot. With the help of a photo organizer, you can easily transfer your collections to other media and burn them to DVDs, as well as create slide shows with subtitles and music.

It is also obvious that cataloging photographs is a laborious process that requires the photographer to look at a skin mark, add keywords and descriptions to it. Proper organization of a photo archive will definitely pay off handsomely, and even at the same time eliminate the search for captured frames based on the plot, date and other criteria. Working with a catalog of photographs will save you an hour.
