Top 7 programs for updating deleted files. Updating files after deleting a hard drive or flash drive. Update from a cat

Business owners who often start deleting files from their laptop or accidentally wasting the necessary data, not knowing how to restore deleted files, including those on the desktop, and how to do so. Here there may be simple situations where the lost documents can be found in just a couple of clicks, but there may be serious problems, for which you will need to use special programs.

Update from a cat

All files after deletion, while saving the standard settings of the computer, are deleted from the device. Cat is a special folder on the desktop, by opening it you can easily open it either from a remote view, by seeing the required object and selecting the corresponding item in the menu. All files can be deleted and irrevocably without being placed in a folder.

Uninformed employees often irritably look at the labels of supplements and documents from their desks, respecting that they have appeared, and then the program has also been completed. Most people don’t know how to renew deleted files. It’s so easy to earn money, just like an empty cat. There are two options:

  1. Boost the system to the nearest upgrade point;
  2. Find the program in the main menu of the "Start" button and drag the required shortcuts to the desktop.

Another option is simpler, if you have used programs and documents from the list of the main menu on your computer and you do not remember the directory in which they were installed, you will soon have to go first.

If you expect to find a deleted folder on your desktop, and the deal was recently completed, then you probably won’t be able to go into the cat’s room. Vidalennya can be seen in one-hour pressure of hot Ctrl and Z.

Vikorist's update point

It is important to understand that you will not return the program, documents and files to the latest update point. This method allows you to rotate the place without erasing the shortcuts on your desktop. The axis is how to work on Windows 8:

It will open at the end, at which time you will be prompted to return to the “fresh” control point. If necessary, you can set another update point.

Vikorist's third-party programs

If these documents are deleted from the laptop’s hard drive and cannot be rotated using standard OS methods, you will need to use special utilities to update deleted files. It is important to remember a general rule that improves the chances of successful data rotation - do not write to a partition of the disk that will need to be processed later.

Recuva - a simple, cost-free utility

The most familiar and simplest addition that you can use to update deleted files is . During installation, select the partition of the disk that contains no data that needs to be updated. The operating principle of Recuva and other similar utilities is approximately the same:

After scanning is completed, the Renewal Wizard will display on the desktop a list of all the documents that have been retrieved. Those of them marked with a green circle can be updated by the utility without any costs.. Since the color of the icon is red, this file cannot be rotated at all - a recording has already been made on top of it and most of the data and information about the file remains.

To stop seeing files (to search for specific photos and documents, you can quickly use the secondary function), select a directory to save and click “Renew”.

PhotoRec is another functional, cost-free utility

The name of the program is not to mislead. The utility updates not only photographs, but also many other types of files. This is an advantage without the need for installation - downloaded from the office. On the site you can see the archive that is being unpacked, after which you can use it. What is important for such programs is power - the program can be immediately downloaded to a flash drive and run from it.

The scheme for returning long-lost information is as follows:

  1. After launching PhotoRec, a window immediately opens, in which you can select a file from the top menu - you will work with it when updating information. The program works with images created in other programs in img format.
  2. Below the window there is a list from which you can select outside the scanned disk or around the partition.
  3. Below you can set the file type for scanning by clicking File Format. If you skip this, the program will be able to renew all the randomly deleted data that you can find.
  4. You can specify a folder for saving updated information by clicking the Browse button. Also, in the File System type menu you need to select a file system. If you work in the middle of Windows, there is another point. The Ext 2-4 system is the standard for Linux.

Regularly reviewed supplements

PhotoRec is no less suitable for corn-cobs than Recuva, as described below. This is the most powerful - it pulls files from the computer often better, but there is still one unacceptable feature. Bezkoshtovna PhotoRec does not allow you to look through the found files after scanning and selecting a specific one. It is necessary to take care when working with large hard drives - if you do not specify in advance which files need updating, everything will be saved later.

Mostly, we will consider the simplest, cost-free programs for retrieving remotely deleted information on the desktop or for losing documents after formatting flash drives, hard drives and other media.

It is important that PhotoRec under Recuva is also a cross-platform utility so that it can work well in any operational environment.

Most personal computers and laptops store important information on hard drives. For some these are photographs, for others - work documents. Why work if all these files were lost or suddenly deleted for any reason? How can I update lost information?

How can I update deleted files?

We first need to understand the principles of hard disk operation. All of this data is stored on clusters - small “pieces” of information with a capacity ranging from 1 byte to 4 megabytes. There will be files in the clusters. The first bits of the skin are designated as zero or one. Those electronic documents in which “0” is set in the attributes are considered deleted. In fact, there is a stink, and if necessary, this information will be deleted, and a new one will be recorded in its place.

What happens if the user deletes a file from the hard drive? We don’t know anywhere, except in our authorities this “zero” is written down. Why is such an algorithm being vikorized?

What happens if the user deletes a file from the hard drive?

First of all, to speed up the hard drive. Otherwise, the process of deleting a file would take dozens of times more than an hour - or it would be overwritten to an empty electronic document (after an hour, it would take as much as copying this file to another directory on your hard drive).

In another way, such an algorithm allows you to increase the operational resource of your hard drive. Even the clusters become damaged over time, and when a critical indicator is reached (the skin maker sets its own “critical” indicator), the hard drive can be seen - the operating system will stop working with it. The same Windows, for example, regularly displays notifications about the need to create a backup copy of your data and transfer it to another computer.

Also, after deleting the file, bypassing the box, the data will be lost on the hard drive. Otherwise, they will be overwritten by copying new data to the hard drive (or more precisely, to the hard drive partition). Apparently, you can renew the lost files only by taking into account the following factors:

  • The information was lost through a software failure, and not from the hard drive;
  • After the data was lost, new data was not written to the hard disk (in the same partition where the data was previously lost).

There are also faults with the rules. Current editions of Windows (starting with versions 2000 and later) have introduced a system for automatically creating update points. Then Windows creates backup copies of data that recognize changes during the time of use of the operating system. A number of OS “snapshots” are created, so users can make changes and update the computer before starting again. However, this is not relevant for small electronic documents. After promotions, Windows reserves 5% of the total volume on the hard disk for update points. Since the wasted information takes up more space, you will only be able to renew some of it.

From a physically damaged hard drive, you can completely update the data. However, such procedures can only be carried out in the laboratory, and such services are expensive. In “household minds” such manipulations are impossible.

How can I retrieve files from the Recycle Bin?

In Windows, deleted files are first moved to the file (as standard settings are used). You can see them again if you can. What is needed for:

  • open “Koshik”;
  • Right-click on the file before you delete it and select “Update”.

The file will be moved to the directory, marked before being deleted into “Koshik”.

Update through the cat

Updating through the “Late Versions” tab

After installation, Windows saves a backup copy for each edited file. These include text documents, images and video files. To update to a previous version of a document, you must:

  • click on the required file with the right mouse button;
  • select “Powerfulness”;
  • Then go to the "Later Versions" tab.

There you will see a list of previous versions of the file that you can update. All you have to do is select the answer and click “Update”. If you add a nuance - if you press “Renewal” itself, then the exact version of the file will be overwritten. To save both the original and the current version of the document, you need to select Copy.

Update of deleted files under the additional tab “Late Versions”

How can I rotate files beyond the update point?

How can I update deleted files using the standard Windows system update utility? For whom is it sufficient:

  • go to "Start" - "All Programs" - "Standards" - "Services" and run the "System Update" utility;

At the system update window, press the “Next” button
  • After a thorough scan of the system, you will be given a list of created renewal points with the date of formation assigned to each of them;

Select the point at which Windows worked without errors (follow the dates)
  • Select the appropriate one (created after the required information is already on the hard drive) and click “Update” or “Done”.

Before system updates, we save all exact files

Through the Windows program, ask to restart your computer. With a new upgrade, Windows will be brought to the same state as it was at the time of creation of the update point.

Please note that since the user recently installed some programs, then, after all, after updating the system, the stinks will be removed, and there will be no fragments of them on the hard drive at the time of forming the update point.

Updated for additional special utilities

There are specialized programs that can deal with wasted data marked “zero” by the authorities. Then you can scan your hard drive and see those files that were previously on the hard drive, but are no longer displayed through the explorer (fragments have been deleted or corrupted). For the butt, we point to the most popular among them.

Program Short description Pros Minuses Posilannya to download
PhotoRec The algorithm for updating bad photos is optimal for updating images and recalls. Deal with images better than others, the program is cost-free It is practically not suitable for renovation https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec_RU

Experts recommend using Recuva, as this program is small in size, cost-free, and has sufficient functionality for most applications. Please watch this short video on the topic, which shows in detail how you can update deleted files using Recuva:

It is possible to renew the spent data, although not forever. If the user just randomly looked through the files or the stinks appeared, for example, due to an emergency shutdown of the robot, then the most important thing is not to copy the latest new data onto your hard drive. Next, try updating files through the included Windows tools, but if that doesn’t help, quickly use more important utilities.

I'm flying.

Recently I had the opportunity to retrieve a bunch of photos from a flash drive that had been accidentally formatted. It’s not easy, and while I had to update a lot of files, I had a chance to get to know all the popular programs for updating information.

In this article I would like to make a list of these programs (before speaking, they can all be classified as universal, so they can update files both from hard drives and from other media, for example, from memory cards - SD or flash drives USB).

Viyshov is not a small list of 22 programs ( From the statistics, all programs are sorted by book).

This program differs from others in that it supports Russian file names. This is even easier when updated (in other programs you will learn “kryakozabry” instead of Russian symbols, like this one).

The program supports file systems: FAT16/32 and NTFS (including NTFS5). Also worthy of support is support for long file names, support for multiple files, and the ability to update RAID arrays.

A very useful mode for searching digital photographs. If you update graphic files, be sure to try this program, the algorithms are simply inconsistent!

The program can work in case of virus attacks, incorrect file formats, deleted files, etc. It is recommended that you keep backup copies of files in hand for those who rarely (or not use).

Screenshot:

That's all. In one of the upcoming articles, I will supplement the article with the results of practical tests, which programs were able to update information. During the weekend, don’t forget to make a backup copy so that you don’t have to update anything.

It is important to know a professional who has never bitten his or her elbows, for example, after accidentally deleting an important document from the disk or from the memory card of a saved photo - this can happen in misery, or simply through banal light. Of course, removing a file from your hard drive and rotating it to life using Windows methods is not a problem - you just need to remember it from the cat. However, most cats are regularly cleaned with special cleaning utilities, and this data can often be removed by bypassing the cat using the Shift + Del key combination (saving time and space) - in this case, you will need to delete the file automatically There is no way out of the cat using Windows tools. Even before deleting files from USB drives and memory cards, the stink will not go away at all - however, using Windows’ existing methods, it is impossible to remove them. And if you decide, permanently deleting files is not the only way to waste valuable information. Important data can be lost in another way: due to a system failure, incorrect operations of other programs, virus injection, disk formatting, deleted partition, etc. In all versions of Windows tools, it is not possible to revive files.

So, when you lose files, why do you immediately rush to the backup of the data update? Not obligatory, as long as you have a reliable utility for updating the deleted and deleted files. As a rule, with her help you can update some of the information without any problems. Golovne - don’t waste time and follow the singing rules of the game.

A few words about wasting and updating files

It’s not a good idea to immediately put an end to the deleted files, although the stench, for example, doesn’t appear in the usual father of the explorer or in the daily life of the cat. In fact, deleted files remain on the computer as before, and when deleted using the operating system, the files are not physically reduced. It is not the body of the file that is visible, but its header; At that time, clusters, in any type of recording, are simply marked as empty and can be read until they are overwritten with new data. Also, deleted documents, presentations, photographs, etc. can be updated using additional specialized utilities.

Updating lost files is possible in less other situations. For example, after a quick formatting of a hard drive - and even with a similar procedure, information about the initial record of file placements is reset (for example, in NTFS - in the MFT area), and the decisions of all disks are made unchanged. Some utilities can also retrieve data from disks that have a corrupted file allocation table, a deleted partition for the data, etc.

However, to definitely confirm that any file (or simply delete it from the cat) may be updated in the future would be at least unconventional. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and significant failures are associated with the wrong actions of the prostitutes. On the other hand, any computer activity on a disk from which data was suddenly deleted can cause clusters containing fragments of type files to appear overwritten, even if the operating system now accepts them zhni. After this, updating the associated files will no longer be problematic. Obviously, during partial rewriting, a number of utilities update such files, but it is not at all a fact that such files can then be processed (the culprit is text documents, with other fragments of which can be processed in the future). If there is a need for updates after frequent re-recording of photos, music, videos, etc., then there is no prospect. In this case, you first need to avoid the possibility of overwriting clusters - do not write anything to the hard drive partition, flash drive or memory card with lost data, otherwise the chances of recovering lost information will be minimal small.

In addition, the possibility of updating the spent data may be associated with a whole low situation, as the value of the money will no longer lie at the time of renewal. Thus, the chances of success are greater when updating files from media formatted with the NTFS file system, rather than FAT. The success of updating a particular file also largely depends on the level of its fragmentation: if the file is highly fragmented, then you can rely (with caution) on its update only in the NTFS system, and the axis on devices with FAT, preferably for everything, stupid. Naturally, for this reason, it is especially difficult to store large files on a heavily filled disk that are often overwritten, which, due to circumstances, usually become highly fragmented.

Please also note that each program cannot update data after guaranteed data loss using specialized solutions, as well as low-root formatting.

How to update files

The most important thing is to start updating deleted and lost files as soon as possible (ideally, immediately after deleting the file), although in practice it will often happen that data has been lost for a long time. However, there is no guarantee that among such invisible “longevity” the document you need will appear, there is no guarantee.

To start, you need to start any computer activity on your device, so you can click on it, since the operating system can record any other data in the place of deleted or deleted files (please note that they didn’t record anything), run the utility installed on your computer to Update the lost files and scan your device in it. The situation becomes more complicated when it comes to updating data on the system disk, which the system continuously records. In this case, it is optimal to remove the hard drive with the deleted files and connect it to another computer as a separate one, and then proceed with the update process.

As a rule, in most types of instruments, scanning is carried out during washing, which is used to analyze file records. If during such an analysis the searched file cannot be found (perhaps because the disk has been formatted, the partition has been deleted, etc.), then it will not be possible to proceed to an advanced analysis. With such an analysis, a deep scan of the disk is carried out with a complete look at all sectors - it takes more than an hour, otherwise it may not be effective. To speed up the process, you can enter the zone to search for the type of data (images, documents, etc.), file name, etc.

Every time it is not possible to update data on a scanned disk, although a solution may be possible (again, due to the risk of overwriting sectors that need to be saved). Therefore, make sure that the updated data is saved on another hard drive, another partition of the hard drive, or a flash drive.

Before taking any action on updating these data, be aware that the loss of files may also be caused by a physical malfunction of the device. Most of the decisions discussed in this article cannot be helped at this time, and the process of updating information in such situations will require advanced professional knowledge and expertise. In addition, continuing to work with a faulty device may make it impossible to update important folders and files. Therefore, once you lose critically important information, it is wiser to resort to independent experiments and immediately turn to fakers.

Utilities for updating lost files

Until recently, utilities for updating lost files were among the fewest categories, with the main part being expensive commercial products, the capabilities of which are completely incompatible with those that can offer reasonable prices, and more cost-free utilities. Now the picture has changed significantly, and today’s home gardeners can generally find effective programs on the market, with the help of which you can not only easily select folders and files, but also turn to This data wasted as a result of the flexible disk formatting of the remote partition. etc. About the same - at an affordable price or to find cost-free solutions for updating folders and files - and is included in this article.

Regardless of the availability of Russian localization, it is difficult to deal with the nuances of updating deleted and lost files with this utility, since all operations are carried out under the supervision of a microbial master. For example, in the simplest case - when you delete deleted files - you just need to activate the Undelete Recovery module, specify the device to be scanned (Fig. 2) and press the button Recover, after which the program will immediately display a list of found folders and files. For most modules, scanning can be done quickly or repeatedly, but it will take more than an hour, but will be more effective. Folders and files found during the analysis are marked with icons in the form of a cross, food, or a call sign - the cross serves to mark separately deleted files, and other icons indicate the transfer of data and RAW files, similarly (Fig. 3). Images and text files can be viewed directly from the utility before updates.

Handy Recovery is a handy utility for updating lost files. The program supports FAT12/16/32/64 (ExFAT) and NTFS/NTFS 5 file systems and can update data from a hard drive or other media, including CompactFlash, SmartMedia, MultiMedia and SecureDigital memory cards . The range of updated files covers a variety of formats: MS Office documents, archive files, email databases (Outlook and Eudora), photographs, music and video files, etc. In this case, you can not only temporarily delete files (deleted from the file, deleted from the file, deleted from the file), but also files corrupted as a result of virus attacks and malfunctions, and files from deleted or formatted volumes. This utility adds the ability to create accurate disk images for embedded updates.

Handy Recovery has two scanning modes: standard (involved in the analysis of file records and helps to update deleted files so that the records have not been corrupted) and extended, which allows you to find data if The information in file records was often overwritten or corrupted. Scanning in standard mode starts automatically immediately after starting the utility (small 6), after the process is completed, a list of detected folders and files will be displayed in the program window; Transferred files and folders are marked with a red cross for ease of reference (Fig. 7). For the skin file, the possibility of successful renewal is indicated. Instead, a number of files (Word and Excel documents, graphic and text files, archives) can be reviewed before updating in the Forward Review window. If there is no need for an extended scan, then they will go into the fallout because after analyzing the disk, the files to be scanned were not found. With such a scan, you can search for different types of files (for example, images), lost file records, and also conduct a more detailed analysis of the data collected from the file (with a standard search, some of such data may not be found). The structure of the found folders and file names behind the scanning results are displayed unchanged.

Recuva is a very simple utility for updating files from such popular solutions as CCleaner and Defraggler. This tool allows you to update photos, documents, music files, videos, etc. in FAT (including ExFAT) and NTFS file systems from hard drives, as well as from any media that can be overwritten (flash copies, new hard drives, memory cards and etc.). For additional purposes, the utility can recover deleted files, rotate files that were deleted as a result of system crashes, failures, or virus attacks, and also try to recover files from formatted or corrupted disks . The additional program can be vicorized for a guaranteed view of the data. In addition to the standard edition, the utility has a portable edition that can be installed on a flash drive or external hard drive.

As usual, the process of updating files is carried out under the master's care (it is difficult to turn on the automatic launch of the master) - fig. 8; The vikoristan master allows you to play a search zone, surrounded by images, music, documents, etc. Skanuvannya mozhe buti shvidkim chi glibokim. Deep scanning allows you to identify more “observations” on the analyzed disk of files, and it also takes more than an hour. If necessary, users can switch to the advanced robot mode and fine-tune the search parameters - quickly filter the file type to sound the search zone, update the folder structure, etc. ); Whenever a file is found, it is marked with a green, dark or red color (the color signals the chances of renewal). In the advanced mode, the program additionally shows details about the file, image thumbnail, and refresh rate rating.

Pandora Recovery 2.1.1

Rozrobnik: Pandora Corp.

Distribution size: 3.11 MB

Work under control: Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista

Extension method: freeware (http://www.pandorarecovery.com/download/)

Price: costless

Pandora Recovery is a simple utility for updating files in various formats: photos, music, videos, documents, etc. The program supports FAT16/32, NTFS, NTFS5 and NTFS/EFS file systems and allows you to update data from local, shared drives and flash drives. It is possible to update suddenly deleted files, as well as deleted ones (if the MFT record was repeatedly overwritten by the OS, the disk was formatted, corrupted, or the daily file allocation table). In addition to the cost-free standard edition of the utility, there is a commercial portable edition of Pandora Mobile Recovery, which is available on 1 GB flash drives ($19.95 per disc). It does not require installation and can be launched directly from a USB drive.

Updating files, as a rule, is carried out under the care of the document master, and this process does not require any steps, moreover, the master starts automatically when the program is activated. To start the search, you need to enter the disk and select the search for files method (Fig. 10) - there are three options: search for deleted files, search for deleted files with the same file name, size, date created/changed or scanned ny disk (Deep-scan ). The remaining option is used to search for data on disks with a corrupted file allocation table, recently formatted disks, etc. Unfortunately, with such a search, file names and directions are not updated, only files of certain types are revealed (images of the widest formats, MS Office documents, MP3 files, PDF documents and ZIP archives), and the scanning itself takes more than an hour. In addition, this method only works with unfragmented files. Known, deleted and lost files are marked with red crosses, whereby the names of files from frequently or extensively overwritten clusters are displayed in a heart color, the names of encrypted (EFS) files are green, and those that are not are black (Fig. 11). In addition, the program evaluates the success of updating data in the form of a number of rewrites: the higher the number, the less chance of successful updating. Before updating, you can review images of popular formats and text files.

Testing of utilities

It was very important to try in practice to evaluate various programs for updating the data spent on the scanning plan and the effectiveness of the data they detected in the deleted and lost files that we tried to generate. For this purpose, all the utilities that are reviewed were installed on one of the hard drive partitions, and for the experiment, a 3.7 GB flash drive was used. This flash drive was used among robot workers, and also carried a lot of information - including many software distribution kits, drivers, etc. In one of the driver folders there was a Chipset folder, which included six subfolders with numerous subfolders and 914 files with a total storage capacity of 176 MB. This folder itself was selected as one of the test folders (obviously, instead of the folder for further analysis, it was later copied to the hard drive).

After this, the flash drive was formatted with the FAT32 file system using the built-in Windows tools so that nothing was lost. Then the Delete_files folder was copied onto the flash drive and the Delete_files folder was prepared on the hard drive, which included 50 files with a total capacity of 66.8 MB. Files come in a variety of formats, including Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, PDF files, archive formats ZIP, RAR and 7z, images (JPEG, TIFF, RAW and in), add-ons, music (MP3, WAV, MID), ISO -images, SWF files, AVI videos, etc. Then all files from the Delete_files folder were deleted without checking the box (Shift + Del). After this, we conducted the first experiment of updating skin information from software solutions. The results are presented in the table.

At the new stage, five new files with a total volume of 78.4 MB were written into the root directory of the flash drive using the storage method. Obviously, the remaining operation is small to completely destroy the results of the update (equalize the volumes of deleted and newly recorded files - 66.8 and 78.4 MB), leaving the high reliability that some of the clusters had initially there were deleted files, which resulted in Frequently rewritten and copied with other data. Then we performed a final skin analysis using the utility, which can be seen in the statistics, to look for any deleted files (the Delete_files folder), after which, to the best of our ability, we tried to update the data i files. We actually conducted an experiment to identify lost files and folders (Chipset folder).

The test results show that the skin can be successfully used to update sensitive data using these utilities. And it is so obvious that the result of updating such files after writing new information to disk with great care (if some sectors were overwritten) is not original. All this confirms the most important rule of renewal: do not write anything down on the nose and then immediately begin working with it immediately after the NP.

While there is a need to update the time spent after formatting files and folders, the results are ambiguous. The best fit was with the existing programs MiniTool Power Data Recovery Free Edition and Handy Recovery, and using the Recuva utility for these purposes, and even more so Pandora Recovery, turned out to be problematic due to the lack of scanning of the folder structure and file names . In addition, Pandora Recovery suffers from an even greater situation because of the overflow of formats that are supported during Deep scanning, and there are enough boundaries. If you want to get rid of the packages and programs, it’s all the same, but it’s one of the most cost-free software products in your class, which is even easier for the tired ones and miraculously copes with the updated “freshly deleted” files.

Visnovok

Hours passed when, in order to update the lost files, it was always necessary to turn to professionals and cost the entire sum. Today on the market there are a lot of simple and tired utilities that allow you to quickly delete or delete files from a computer crash, virus attack, or other computer disaster. These decisions will be made at a price that is very pleasant for home buyers or cost-free for non-commercial use. Therefore, in simple situations, when there is a problem with erroneous deletion or loss of files, for example, as a result of flexible formatting, it is possible to renew the data manually. And since the reason for the loss of files is damage to the hard drive either mechanically or electronically, it is not wise to experiment - it is better to entrust the operation of updating data to professionals.

In the event of renewed self-exertion, act wisely and take precautions in advance so that such a cataclysm does not catch you. In other words, be sure to have at hand (on the disk in the installed form) a couple of similar utilities and, if possible, go into the latest information regarding the latest rules (including and the ability to record other data on a storage device, save updated files on a different storage device etc.). In addition, if you found failure with one utility, be sure to give another a chance - their nose scanning algorithms differ, so it is possible that the work of another utility will be successful. And if you decide, don’t forget that every day, making the most expensive and most difficult decision does not guarantee absolute success, and therefore, reserving valuable data does not save anyone.

Storing information digitally is important, but the most important is the amount of data that can be stored in a minimal unit of memory on a digital device. What is the best way to save your money? If the device goes wrong, the operating system fails, or the data processing process goes wrong, the data may be lost. Fortunately, in most cases, files that are accidentally deleted do not leave residual files, and with the right and prompt approach, they can be renewed.

Renewing deleted files is possible due to the algorithm for writing information to the hard drive. New files are not written to empty sectors or spaces, but on top of previously deleted ones, which are physically saved on the disk until they are completely overwritten. So, if the files are deleted, they will not be immediately lost. In this case, the system erases the first character of the file name and places it in its place, so that the file itself is lost on the disk. If you install SSD drives with the activated TRIM function, the drives of such drives are completely cleaned, so updating the deleted files becomes a practically useless task.

So, how can you update files deleted from your computer? So, in general, they were not overwritten by other data. For these purposes, it is best to use special programs, since Windows itself does not have any special features. You can update files using standard tools only if they have been moved to Koshyk, and if the system has the shadow copy function and/or file history enabled. First, let's look at the example of updating files deleted from the hard drive, not using third-party programs.

Updating deleted files using Windows

In Windows 7 and 10, if you open the power of any folder or file, you can look at the “Recent Versions” tab, and in it – a list of backup copies of objects. If the files have been deleted by Koshyk, just select the required backup version and click the “Update” or “Unlock” button.

But it's not so simple. On the right is that you have the “Recent Versions” tab, which will show you everything, if empty, you will hire it from the authorities of the directories on the disk of the user. In order for copies to be made, system authorities may have protection for the relevant section.

Note: You can rotate deleted files using the additional function “Late Versions” only if they were located in folders and not in the root of the disk.

It is important that the system also has the “File History” function enabled, which will ensure periodic backups of your desktop libraries and desktop.

First of all, there is a problem with Windows 8 and 8.1 systems, for which the “Later Versions” tab is not available to authorities. It is important to say that Microsoft retailers prompted them to delete the eighth version, and then return to the tenth, however, the technology of shadow copying itself was underdeveloped.

How to delete files from your computer that have denied direct access to shadow copies will be discussed below, but for now let’s say a few words about “File History.” This option appeared in Windows 8 as an alternative to the “Late Versions” function, which was tied to the current system update points. The “File History” function is not necessary, but to speed it up, you need to connect an additional physical disk or flash drive to the computer, or, as an option, a secondary disk.

It's very easy to renew your deleted data. To do this, you need to click on the “Update specific files” option, select a folder from the window or extract a file into it and press the button with a rounded arrow.

It is now possible to update files from shadow copies in Windows 8 and 8.1. As noted, the “Later Versions” tab is visible in these versions of the system. So, if you need to update a specific file, why would you need to go all the way to the latest update point? Not at all awkward.

Open the command row as administrator and type in the new command vssadmin list shadows.

As a result, you will see a list of all successful update points. Return to the “Output volume” parameter, which will indicate the drive letter from which you want to update the data. Then, having specified the number of the backup copy (as indicated in the settings of the “Dark copy volume” parameter), enter next:

mklink /d %SystemDrive%/shadow //?/GLOBALROOT/Device/HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy7/

For whose application the update point is number 7, yours will have a different value. As a result of writing the command in the root of the C drive, a symbolic message appears shadow.

If you go over it, you will end up like a dark copy!

This method, however, works well in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, but again you need to remember to go to a new point, since only the system has the function of creating system update points enabled.

Updating files using additional special programs

Most of all, we took a good look at how to update files that were deleted from Koshik within an hour of purification or disposal for other reasons, by the means of the system itself. As has been shown above, all these methods have significant implications. To be able to retrieve data directly from a disk rather than backup copies, use special programs, both paid and free.

R-Studio

R-Studio– a powerful professional program for updating deleted files from various digital devices, from hard drives to CD/DVDs and memory cards. The program supports work with all popular file systems, RAID arrays, and can create images of physical disks and other volumes. Regardless of the fact that R-Studio is oriented towards the data of the clients, the procedure for updating data is not complicated.

After launching the program, see the entire disk or partition in the left column and click on the “Show disk capacity” icon on the toolbar.

When left, a list of remote directories will be displayed, and the right hand will display them instead, marked with red crosses.

Place a check mark on the objects you would like to update and select the “Renew Assigned” option from the main menu. Next in the window, you will need to specify a folder to save files, specify additional update options if necessary, and click “OK”.

If the files were transferred through file system corruption or formatting, the disk must be ejected by selecting the submenu in the main menu.

Scanning the nose in advance allows for a more comprehensive and in-depth analysis, and therefore increases the chance of updating the data.

After completing the procedure, a new element “Found by signatures” will appear in the list of disks.

See it with a mouse, click on the right column under the heading “Files found for information about the typical features of the structure of their data”, find the required elements in the next window and update them.

Ontrack EasyRecovery

Another professional commercial product that allows you to quickly and efficiently restore deleted files. Ontrack EasyRecovery It has a user-friendly interface that looks like a hidden master, which makes working with the program much easier. The add-on supports updating of information from hard drives, ZIP and CD/DVD drives, flash drives, memory cards, RAID arrays, as well as other devices with flash memory.

The Ontrack EasyRecovery update procedure consists of several stages. At the first stage you will be asked to select the type of drive, at the next you will need to indicate a specific disk or partition, and at the third you will need to select an operation (for which application this is an update).

To see the directory with deleted files in the tree-like list (these will be marked in green), right-click on the new one and select the “Save as” option.

You can also update additional files by adding them in the right column of the program window. If you go to the “Previews” tab, you can view the file thumbnails, which are updated, however, this view is only available for images.

Recuva

You can find cost-free programs for updating deleted files Recuva. This simple and instantly effective tool allows you to identify all types of data from different digital media, supporting the viewing of images and hexadecimal codes of files of different formats.

It’s even easier to use Recuva. After launching the program, you need to select a volume from the list and click the “Analysis” button. The program will scan your device and display a list of deleted files.

Check the required items, click the “Update” button and select the directory to save them.

You can also quickly access the context menu by selecting the “Renew views” option.

The program has a simple search by file name and format, an accessible view of the main information - country, date of creation and modification, size and new route.

You need to know about this

So, we took a good look at what to do, having seen the required file. A number of third-party programs have their own advantages, including those that allow you to update files on a deleted partition and corrupt the file system, including those that remain in memory. If you accidentally deleted or lost files, never write them to the section in which they were located, for whatever reason, there is a risk of overwriting the sectors in order to take their place.

For this reason, install the trace update program on the “high” section, which is the same as the one you are going to update from. Ideally, you need to remove the hard drive, connect it to another computer and start scanning from the new one. It is also not possible to save updated files to the same section, in which case you run the risk of spending the rest of them. If you are updating files from drive D, you should save them to drive C or a flash drive.
